Ive had a great experience with Jay as my personal trainer. I honestly picked a random trainer from the ones they offer in 12th street gym and I have been pleasantly surprised with Jay and my results.
After working out on my own and getting injured because I had no f'ing clue what I was doing I figured I needed professional instruction on how to lift weights and get big. Jay not only helped me get big (10 lbs in 2 months) but he also showed me the right way of lifting weights. The importance of working on my core and other exercises for strength and conditioning that I had no clue were so important in my weight training routine. He really does know what he's talking about when it comes to weight lifting and it shows when you ask the dude a question, he will go on for hours! He really goes into the details of why something works, why something doesn't, how to address certain weaknesses you have etc... I remember the first month was frustrating because I only worked on weightlifting the right way and not on getting big(which was my goal). It took me four weeks of intense, grueling stretching just to get the proper form so I could squat correctly.
Sticking with it has really paid off. I'm much more conscious about my form and all the subtleties of weightlifting. I'm sure I would not be as strong and in good health as I am today if I had picked a trainer who only worked on getting me big. He has definitely helped me see the bigger picture. Especially now that I went from squatting about 95lbs to about my own weight(180 lbs) and deadlifting from 135lbs to about 225 lbs in about a month and a half. HUGE IMPROVEMENT! Not to mention how I had such bad form on my squat and deadlift that I could have gotten seriously hurt without proper instruction.
Also great attitude, knows how to stay positive especially if your like me and you want to see results right away, it can get frustrating. Always focuses on the positive things your doing. Has helped me get through my first workout plan and I can't wait to start my next. Thumbs up! read more
