As a jazz band they brought a beautiful energy to our wedding reception that impressed not just us but our 150 wedding guests. The music really was so beautiful and executed to perfection. Ollie is very easy going and was amenable to all our requests. A big shout out to Ben the keyboardist, too, who played Otis Redding's "(Sittin' on) The Dock of the Bay" as we walked down the aisle :) They really were a great band to work with :)

There's parking in downtown Mill Valley..we parked around the corner and walked around window shopping pre-show. There's also other cool eateries and drinking holes to enjoy downtown too. In the venue itself there is a bar that served both great Bloody Mary's and mocktail options too. Fun staff and the show was equally as cool + interactive. There were nice Grateful Dead handkerchiefs for sale, and all in all, honestly would return for a kiddo or (adult) show. One of the best decisions we made for our wedding. I am a musician myself and had a lot of specifications for what I wanted throughout our ceremony, first dance, and dancing portions of the evening. And I mean a LOT of specifications! Music is something I am very particular about. Lilan worked closely with me on everything from which 2nd singer to hire to match the feel we wanted (the band works with various singers) to learning new songs that we had requested to adjusting songs to specific BPMs!!! She never seemed to lose her patience with me and would text me randomly with ideas or singer leads. One time she even texted me a couple vocal riffs she sang into her phone to see what I would prefer. We wanted a fun, sexy, big band feel and a talented group of musicians who could perform soul, Latin, swing, R&B, and everything in between. That is exactly what we got. We really wanted to have live jazz music for our wedding instead of a DJ because I am a big jazz fan and it just seemed much more appropriate for the venue. After contacting many musicians we decided to visit Max at his home/studio where we met and he played several pieces for us on his piano and trombone. He was extremely professional and just a very classy guy. He was prompt in his email responses, played all the songs we requested, and even brought his trombone as a fourth instrument without charging us any extra. He also acted as our MC and was very professional and pleasant. We were very happy with our choice and would recommend Max for any event.
