What a cool vibe of a theatre space…read more My husband and I attended our first SLTE production (Snowbound) recently. Reclaiming a former commercial space, SLTE has turned it into a hip theatre space that includes a front bar and lounge area with the theater space in the back. The bar area is modern and chic and served some excellent holiday themed cocktails. The restrooms are modern and have a European feel. The stalls are all private rooms so there is no need for gendered labeling. The performance space is intimate and flexible which makes it exciting to think about seeing other shows there. The show we saw featured two excellent actors with professional experience in LA and NYC who now reside in Staunton. We will definitely be back to see more shows! One thing I would recommend considering. Many, myself included, have sensitivities to various scents. There were a number of candles burning throughout the lobby and bar. While they were beautiful and helped create ambience, they can also create headaches and migraines in some.

It moved to a larger space in BV and is now in the Art and Cultural Center along with the Kids University art classes. Beautiful bright studio but the best part is the instruction. Missy Floyd has a gift for bringing out the best in each dancer. The classes for the youngest are full of fun and love of movement. Classes for older students are ability based and many younger dancers gain experience by dancing with students a little older. Her students have received scholarships and acceptances to the Joffrey, Gelsey Kirkland's year round academy, BYU, Ballet West and the companies of the Richmond and Louisville Ballets among others. This studio is where young dancers have fun and older students development skills to continue dance past high school if the choose. This studio does not typical do recitals or showcases; they do ballets. Full length, classical ballets which includes The Nutcracker each December. The students are all very friendly, welcome new members in with open arms and truly have a great time.
