Tuyet is absolutely amazing! I (and many of my friends and family) take all my dry cleaning and alterations here! I have had her hem several dresses, skirts, and pairs of pants. She's even changed the cut of some of my pants for me and she does an excellent job. She is very reasonably priced and super friendly. This is a family owned business that I'd highly recommend supporting. I've been going here for years (dry cleaning, alterations & tailoring). Tuyet is great. She works with you to make sure you're comfortable with the final look of whatever it is you're having done. I'm petite, so I've had her make adjustments to dresses, coats, pants and denim (always Euro hem). If she can't do something, she tells me. I've also had two very expensive jackets (one down and the other leather) cleaned at JB. They did a great job on both. I believe she sends the leather to another company. I have been here many times for simple alterations - hemming pants, lengthening cuffs and the like. Great service, great prices. $8 to hem pants. Short story: The first time I went there was for a simple hem. When I came back a week later to pick it up, Tuyet remembered my name and didn't even look up my receipt. It's a busy place, and it amazes me that she can do that. Two years later and she remembers me by name. I only go every few months for a hem here and there. I had a bad experience at a dry cleaning/alteration place on Broadview Ave. and needed to find another place to have my pants hemmed. I found JB on Yelp with such positive reviews, so I decided to check it out. I dropped two pairs off last week, picked them up yesterday, and paid $7 for each pair plus tax. The workmanship is great; the prices are very reasonable (the place at Broadview charged twice as much, and the work was so shoddy...); and they are super, super friendly. I couldn't ask for more. I went here for a simple alteration (shortening) of new dress pants I had bought. They were really friendly and helpful, and took very little time to measure me. They also bent the rules and had my pants ready earlier than the usual time of one week since I had a wedding to go to! And the price was very reasonable at only $8 + tax, I believe. I definitely recommend it, and will go here again when in need for alterations in the future. I cannot, however, speak for their dry-cleaning business. read more

Very reasonable prices and friendly service. However, make sure you call before you go pick up. For her, 'afternoon' pick-up means after 3. I went just after noon, and she didn't have it ready. Was a bit of an inconvenience seeing that I had travelled all the way to pick up my altered clothing. She did not ask me to call before coming to pick-up my clothes. She had had my clothes for about a week, and the alterations were minor. She didn't even prioritize mine either when I was there, and asked me to come back in three hours, even though the work could have easily been done in 15 mins. I understand that she might have other priorities, but seems a bit unnecessary. She could have just told me to come the following day if she couldn't make time for my items. Also, if you're in search of any last-minute alterations I would not recommend her because she wasn't willing to take mine. Totally understandable, but just a heads-up for anyone who is in search of that. I would come back for the good prices, but just a heads up to anyone who wants to use this service that the owner treats the pick-up time quite flexibly. read more

Decided to give this place a chance after reading reviews. Saw a review where there was a mention of stains not being lifted. Was hesitant but decided anyways. When I brought in dry cleaning she mentioned to me that specific stains may not be lifted but she tells you ahead of time so you don't waste your $. Also, if there are any issues Tooyet? takes care of them to make sure you're happy. Pros; Cheap good service tells you the truth (Saves $$)! Cons Too far from my house! Spent $81 for laundry, pressing and dry cleaning only to find most of my items with remaining stains (not even slightly lifted) and barely pressed. There was no mention of this upon pick up. read more

I decided to try JB Cleaners after reading good reviews. I was happy with first two sets of alterations done so I decided to bring in an expensive, new blouse to get taken in and a new maxi dress to be shortened. I was told items were going to be ready following week. I went the day suggested to pick up clothes, I was told clothes were not ready and to give her another week. The next wk I called first, but was told they were still not ready and to give her another wk. Clothes were finally ready after 4 wks. When I went to pick clothes up I noticed my brand new blouse that has never been worn looked faded. When I got home upon closer inspection with the plastic bag off, I noticed there was some pilling and blouse looked really faded and old. I sniffed the armpit area, I can smell the scent of deodorant. The maxi dress' hem was uneven, it was two inches longer on one side. I gave the never worn maxi dress a sniff, there was scent of perfume/body odor on it. I called Tuyet (the owner of JB Cleaners and the only person that works at cleaners) and asked her what happened to my new blouse and new dress, she was not able to give me a satisfactory explanation as to why my $149.00 brand new blouse looked and smelled the way it did, and why my new maxi dress smelled of perfume and B.O. I didn't even bring up the fact that the hem was off by about two inches. Needless to say, I will NEVER BE GOING BACK there again!! read more

This place is 5 stars for hemming/simple jobs etc. Professional, friendly service. Cheap for sure. But do not take any complicated stuff. The nice lady will say yes to it and won't say she can't do it. She will try her best though. I had a lined jacket (expensive) which I asked her to make smaller ! So she had to open it up and do tons of work and i don't remember what she charged but it was quite cheap - under $30 i m sure. Let's say I would rather have kept it the way it was. In all fairness she did not ruin it or anything. For hemming etc. this is the perfect place to go. And even a bit more complicated stuff. I saw someone wrote she can copy a pattern from a clothing. If that's true I would be very happy. I would be a bit wary and start with something cheaper. Anyway, i went to get my jeans tightened so she opens it up at the back belt and all the way down on the ass and charged me only $12. It was a clean job and you couldn't even tell she had gone in and done it, but these jeans had a nice rounded (bum) shape and now they don't at the back (flat) i.e. the jean designers specifically shape it so it is nicely rounded. So she doesn't know the intricacies of designing but seriously I got my money's worth for $12 - I just learnt not to go messing around w alterations too much. Only a good designer (not tailor) would know that part of tailoring anyway. I would go there again. The lady works with you and is nice so it is very comfortable. Like I said Great job for alterations - perfect and cheap. Oh and always check before going picking up ur stuff. The lady tries to be very accommodating and in that sometimes will give u a day but won't have the stuff ready and that may happen more than once ! Overall, she is an experienced alterations tailor I would say and the prices as already mentioned are great. read more

I had a very negative experience here recently. I brought my winter coat in to have the zipper replaced. The woman I spoke with (perhaps the owner?) said to replace it was complicated and she would need lots of time to work on it. I said no problem and agreed to return in 12 days. She also said it would be expensive due to the details involved. This was not an issue for me as the manufacturer of my coat was footing the bill, which I mentioned (implying charge me accordingly). I thought I was quite accommodating so you can imagine my surprise when I returned to pick up my coat and she appeared confused, didn't seem to recognize me or know my coat by description. She looked at my receipt seeming perplexed and then pulled my coat out of a cupboard completely untouched - she not only wasn't done, she clearly had forgotten about my coat entirely. I am quite confused as to how or why this happened; she did not apologize, in fact she kind of giggled. As a counter to the many positive reviews, I felt I should share my disappointing experience. This could have been a neighborhood place I would happily support, but obviously not now. read more
