Photo Q is my photo-printing destination, but they can do so much more including having your best shot put on a: * Canvas * Mug * Hat * DVD They also sell a wide variety of frames, including those fancy digital ones! But Photo Q also do the boring stuff too like Visa and Passport photos (don't we all look pretty in them?) image recovery and photo restoration and they always do it with a smile on their face and in a speedy time.

After almost 4 weeks being transferred (and not returning calls) when i finally received and checked the DVD copies made the video quality was so poor and in blue colour throughout. We were told this is typical and would not offer any refund or any explanation other than it's our fault. As such we were given a sub-standard product, without any issue of refund, or explanation other than it was our fault providing a low quality VCR tape. The whole process was dealt with so rudely that we will not be returning. This was quite concerning given that these tapes were old family videos that we were having transferred for a family birthday present. As such we went to another competitors store and had the VCR tapes checked, new DVD copies made and found that the copies were in fact perfect. Trust me, shop around and I would be very reluctant to use such a service from PhotoQ in the future

However, upstairs there's a Nintendo level upstairs where there is both Nintendo merchandise and consoles. You can try various consoles or play with mates (or strangers!) and see older consuls as well. It's like a mini version of the Nintendo store in New York! There are items here I haven't seen in any other EB stores. There's also a huge range of Pop vinyls with lots of new items I haven't seen in any other toy stores, like Beca from Pitch Perfect. There was a huge range of new books all for $10, it really is unbelievable! My poor friend accompanying me had to spend a whole hour in here while I looked through every genre and every shelf. I have really fallen in love with this place because they had relevant (to me) design books (both graphic and art) on sale as well. I picked up a typography design books for $10 which will teach me everything the $130 degree textbook I bought would. Amazing. They have several genres in the store as well, anything from design to literature to fiction to history. I cannot believe I haven't heard of this place before!

Kent epitomises design as semiotics, as the conveyance of meaning. And that's the kind of thing that Metropolis' clientele loves. If you want a book of hundreds of Japanese six inch cartoon characters, or a collection of old Black Mask and Doubleday pulp covers, Metropolis is the place. There's relatively extensive sections on art, on architecture, on graphic design and music. Admittedly, it's not exactly cheap, but then these books never are.

It's always refreshing stepping into an aesthetically pleasing space where taking it all in is part of the charm there. It's not threatening and feels very creative as you can see the obvious hours of dedication it would've taken to paint some of the intricate works of art. I have a huge respect for these people and feel like it's a small gesture to take the second and appreciate their hard work. These are located towards the front of the store, and I can happily waste time reading up about distant cities and daydreaming about desert islands. There are also some great fiction and kids sections with a wide variety, and while there might not be leather couches or cafes inside the bookstore, there is lots of space. Feel free to lean up against a wall or have a quick sit on the ground to rifle through the pages. The staff are friendly and helpful, but when it is busy you may need to wait to catch their eye. They are knowledgeable about locations of particular books and editions and always happy to make a suggestion for a gift. But if you have to wait to be served then be patient, you're in a bookstore and have the luxury of surrounding yourself with great stories.
