He'll say all the right things to get your business, but once you pay him, the excuses start. In my case, he gave me his word that he'd show up to work, then backed out, claiming it was "too cold." James is also a liar. When I called him out on his shady business practices, he immediately played the victim, claiming I "threatened" him instead of taking responsibility. He'll try to discredit any electrical work just to upsell his services and make you think he's the only one who knows what he's doing. Don't fall for it--always check your permits and verify what he tells you. He tried to convince me my house was unsafe, yet the City of Lake Charles didn't cite a single code violation. His excuse? He claimed the city inspector "knows him so well" that they didn't bother writing anything down because they trusted him to fix it. That's ridiculous. If there were real safety issues, they would have documented them--plain and simple. The worst part? When we got into an argument, he refused to leave my property and threatened to pull his permit, acting like he was the only electrician in town. Then, he showed up at City Hall, yelling and making a scene, trying to get the city to declare my house unsafe--hoping it would put me in a financial bind. But here's the thing, James: your name is (or rather, was) on the permit, and your license is the one at risk. I'm just a homeowner trying to get work done as agreed. I didn't drive five hours to pay you and accept excuses. Bottom line--James is unprofessional, dishonest, and not worth the headache. If you need electrical work done, find someone else.
