Our pond was green as our UV light had shut off. We desperately needed a cleaning of our pond…read morebefore getting our pond stabilized again which we have done for 8 successful years. I called Acorn ponds and spoke with the owner Tom and sent pictures of what we were dealing with. He said our pond would be cleared up after they vacuumed it which we knew it needed and hired Acorn to do so. The wait time was two weeks. Tom and Maria showed up as scheduled. The pond was emptied and our 84 fish ( comets and 14 koi ) transferred into two plastic covered holding tanks in the backyard while Maria did the vacuuming. The vacuuming was the ONLY positive work done! The fish were replaced into the pond after cleaning and water from holding tanks AND new water added. Tom then brought his checklist of items he recommended we purchase to make our pond " right ". - aeration pump - aerator - bio balls ( instead of our lava rocks) - new fine fiber filters - cold water bacteria We added these as suggested but we're hesitant as our pond had been fine up to the UV light was unable to kill off algae. Tom was against using this method. When we asked Tom to install the UV light bulb we previously purchased he said he didn't know how to do so and didn't believe in them anyways. He mentioned also that our 42" pond depth was too deep. Well not do as our fish have wintered over in the pond with our TWO running waterfalls which already aerate the pond all winter long. The fish have done beautifully over 8 years with losing only 4 fish during this time. We have one Chinese maple tree above the pond which provides a bit of shade and are still able to have crystal clear waters running without a bunch of shade trees around due to the UV light filters efficiency! I added the cold water bacteria as instructed. Along with that, the pond was equipped with all the new gadgets from Acorn as suggested. Tom asked us to leave a five star review on GOOGLE when he left that afternoon along with a check for over $2000 + ! I'm glad I waited to put a review in until today. **Over the next two weeks we lost 80 ( yes eighty ) of our beautiful fish. The pond remained GREENER than it was before the vacuuming of that was even possible! We realized that we needed to go back to square one to get the pond back to " our normal" which had worked so well balancing the water ph, filtration etc. We removed EVERYTHING we were told we should purchase from Acorn. After the pond did NOT clear up and still remained green after a week and all our fish being lost, we went back to using lava rocks, barley for water conditioning, salt to treat the water for our fish after the new water had been added previously ( without it ). We changed the filters putting the fine filters on top of the medium filters as they were switched around incorrectly. We reinstalled the UV light bulb and then waited! Within 4 days the pond was clearing up beautifully and by the end of the week were were able to see the bottom once again with all its lovely pebbles. Our 4 fish were adjusting well! We are requesting to be taken off the Acorn Ponds mail marketing's because we will NEVER use their services again. While we understood that Tom has attended many pond and waterfall inferences over his several years of working with and building ponds, we wonder if he paid attention at all! In our opinion we suggest you save your fish and money and look elsewhere for pond cleaning and maintenance. AGAIN PLEASE REMOVE US FRIM YOUR MAILING LIST ACORN PONDS!!!!

He came to look at the sidewalk, gave me a reasonable quote, and the sidewalk job was completed a week later. Toby and his crew worked hard all day and did an excellent job, leaving us with a beautiful new sidewalk. We have hired him to come back in about a month to reseal our driveway, and I am sure Toby and his crew will do a great job with that also. These are good people who work hard and do excellent work!

We hired Canopy Walkers for jobs at two of our properties. One is our residence, the other a rental…read moreproperty. We asked Roger to finish our residence work before he started on the rental work. Both jobs were extensive, with many trees to cut (about 22 at our house), stumps to be ground, trunks to be cut to firewood length and brush to be put in an agreed location on our property. We paid Roger half of our total bill before he started work. We had to call/text him numerous times before he finally showed up with a crew and an attitude. They cut down most of the trees in a few hours. Then they left. Over the course of 9 weeks, many texts/calls Roger or someone he sent, managed to show up for a total of 4 times. The trees are all down, but they are not all cut up, none of the stumps are removed or ground up. At least one tree that I wanted to keep was damaged by a falling tree. I suspect another tree hit my garage as the gutter is mysteriously separated from the downspout and the downspout has a huge dent in it. Roger also took a Black Walnut tree without authorization because he wanted to use it/sell it. I cannot in good conscience recommend Canopy Walkers to anyone who has more than one day's work to be done. If you only have a tree or two, you might come out okay. Give your big jobs to someone who will finish your job before moving on to someone else. Needless to say, he will not be working at our rental property. We still hope we can convince Canopy Walkers to complete their contract with us, but they don't communicate with us, so we have no idea what plans they have for completion.

Then we were asked to trim a large rose bush inside the yard , we did that. Those jobs weren't apart of the initial job. Then when we came back we were asked to cut some more things down because the neighbors moved their car and also to now make a path through some hedges and rose bushes that have grown into each other . mean while the wife doesn't want the rose bush cut which is impossible. The initial job was completed along with a few extra things that we didn't charge for.

It took a while (months) for them to come back but they let me know that was the time frame and I was very fine with it. Everyone I came across was quite friendly. It seems like they did a good job, I'll really get to see when the leaves come out. The person who climbed the tree cleaned up the yard well. I forgot all about this review (8/4/16) until the owner YELPed me, the leaves are out and their trim up made the tree look healthier and gave some dappled sunshine.
