I got digital and I got paper copies of the photos so that was cool, and it cost about $20. It was a little bit slow but that wasn't the end of the world. World. I still enjoy the experience and I got what I needed.

So now, when I plan to travel somewhere I will rent lenses (sometimes cameras, too) from Aperturent. To pack light, so I don't pay airline baggage fees, I rent the 24-240 Sony zoom lens. So I don't have to take the 20-70 and 70-300 lenses (which take up bag space) with me. I can slide my 'personal item' (small bag) under the seat in front of me. Yes, renting the lens can be cheaper than paying a baggage fee in both directions. When I want to photograph planes or bird, I rent the Sony 200-600 (a heavy beast of a lens). You must rent for a minimum of three days. But since they don't charge for the weekend, I can pick up a rental late Wednesday and keep it until Monday close of business (thus getting five days for the cost of three).
