This is my first AND last time buying anything from PROFESSIONAL PHOTO RESOURCES! I'm mostly an event end wedding photographer but my 19 yr old cousin begged me to take studio portraits for her birthday. She told me if I bought the backdrop paper, she'll get the rest of the props. Okay cool! Tomorrow is the shoot and would you know it, she changes her mind (teenagers ) and I specifically waited until the last minute to get the paper because I had a feeling she'd change her mind. Anyway, I called PPR to try to get a refund on the 9ft seamless paper that costed me $63 and even though I have never opened or used it, in fact I have been riding around with it in my car for ONLY 1 day; the young lady in the phone politely told me there are no refunds or exchanges. I personally feel that policy is unnecessary and ridiculous if a person haven't used the product. My advice to anyone looking to do business with this company is DON'T DO IT! The ONLY thing brick and mortar stores are good for is going in, checking out the equipment that you need, price comparing and then purchasing from Amazon.com, the company that's ending all companies. At least with Amazon (1) You'll get a better price (2) Fast shipping with Prime or additional costs (3) They understand and value customer service. Returns are easy just drop it off to the nearest Amazon customer service center. This is what I get for trying to support a local business. Lesson learned. In second thought, I'll be back to check out other equipment THEN I will purchase it from Amazon. That we will help me make good decisions in the future when I comes to my photography equipment and supplies. Now I'm stuck with paper I don't need and have to resell it on Facebook market place

After talking to them I was able to confirm how it works when I received it and it purrs like a kitten. Thanks guys! To preface: where I'm at doesn't have shops that repair cameras and Atlanta is a chief place to do so. Upon my Yashica hitting the pad of death during a work trip after never being serviced in its 70 years of life I called a bajillion places in the Atlanta area. This place was the only one to give a competitive price and time frame. While others were more reputable imo the price didn't reflect that whatsoever and I ended up taking the long uber north to see if they could save my go to rangefinder. They're super nice small company and while their communications is scant especially response time which I assume is due to everyone working on a camera it did have me worried. I was semi assuaged by the fact that not only did the pad sound solid but the camera looked beautiful and I could tell they took the time to clean every inch of my admittedly beat up worse than a "Toyota hilux on top gear" body. Where I was disappointed was the fact that they either overlooked or reassembled my top plate improperly and it made it through qc as my rewind dial was near bolted down to the top plate with no wiggle whatsoever and he door stuck as well. Now could this have been the brand new seals and the camera was used to its loose nature over the years prior to me getting it, maybe but this was essentially inoperable. Upon reconnecting with them they were quite apologetic and offered me a return label and check free of charge which I did appreciate. It's currently coming back now so we'll see how it is. Overall it could've easily been a 5 had it not encountered this new problem. I'd consider sending more product but still do now wanna try my initial top 5 options before making this my go to.

Great place to rent gear! The process was easy to do online to pick what I needed. It was ready…read morewithin an hour. Went and picked it up. The building is nice and clean. I returned the lens back a few days earlier just because I wasn't going to be able to bring it back on the due date, and they refunded for the days I'm not using it for, so that was really cool. I was expecting to eat the cost! I definitely will be renting from them again.

So now, when I plan to travel somewhere I will rent lenses (sometimes cameras, too) from Aperturent. To pack light, so I don't pay airline baggage fees, I rent the 24-240 Sony zoom lens. So I don't have to take the 20-70 and 70-300 lenses (which take up bag space) with me. I can slide my 'personal item' (small bag) under the seat in front of me. Yes, renting the lens can be cheaper than paying a baggage fee in both directions. When I want to photograph planes or bird, I rent the Sony 200-600 (a heavy beast of a lens). You must rent for a minimum of three days. But since they don't charge for the weekend, I can pick up a rental late Wednesday and keep it until Monday close of business (thus getting five days for the cost of three). Here are some Toronto Canada photos I took with the rented 24-240 lens.

I took some old family photos to see if New Tech Photo could copy, restore and resize them. My goal…read morewas to use a family heirloom frame to display five generations of father-son photos. Holly at the front desk was awesome! She was very friendly and made me feel as if she was just as excited about the project as I was. She listened to what I wanted and conveyed it perfectly to the photo tech. They kept me updated on the progress and let me sneak a few peeks along the way. Holly even recommended a local frame shop (Fine Lines Art & Framing.) The frame shop owner (a very talented lady) and the photo tech "artist" worked together to create the perfect size prints. The prints were made to fit into a custom mat that worked with my frame. I absolutely LOVE how it turned out! This beautiful piece of art will have a special place in our family for generations. I HIGHLY recommend New Tech Photo to anyone looking for high-quality photo restoration and beautiful prints.
