So this is a small shop but it has a lot in it though. Given the fact that you may not find some of the things in a regular pharmacy Photoshop store, this will definitely have a little bit of retro or throwback accessories for your camera. Stuff that you haven't seen in decades, they might have. I went to get a passport photo taken and it was pretty good. As far as the experience goes. I got digital and I got paper copies of the photos so that was cool, and it cost about $20. It was a little bit slow but that wasn't the end of the world. World. So they found my negatives. Apparently they have a separate pile for pre-developed film, which I didn't know was a thing to mention.. I'm glad they found it and called me immediately but I still have my concerns about using them in the future. I will definitely give them a second chance because things happen, but I stand by my earlier review that they need to be more organized about things, especially if they're closing up shop for a week. read more

This may have been one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had. My son is an aspiring photographer and he mostly does film photos. We usually go to The Photo Spot in Douglasville, even though it's almost 50 miles away! He likes them because they're less expensive and can get your pictures back in just a couple of hours instead of days. Admittedly the quality isn't as great, so I think as he improves he'll start using Dunwoody more often. This time he wasn't in a rush and he wanted high quality photos, so we went to Dunwoody Photo to drop off several rolls to develop. Danielle was absolutely amazing! She took time and explained lots of things to us, like how they process their film and several other things. But the thing that was just over the top was her friendliness. She talked to us like she'd known us her whole life. There are far too many times that you go into a small business and they just kind of brush you off, or give a dry wave or "hello." Danielle was the total opposite. She asked about his shoots, his film that he uses, made recommendations on some new film they got in, and so much more! I just can't say enough how great she was. I don't care if it's a little more expensive or if it takes longer to get them, this is the only place I'll recommend for prints moving forward! read more

This was my first time developing film not at CVS. I really wasn't sure about the process so I was so thankful for how friendly the staff was in explaining everything and answering all my questions. I dropped off my film on a Saturday and got a phone call on Tuesday saying they were ready. You have the option of paying over the phone or in person. read more

They get 2 stars because they developed my film but aside from that, I do not recommend this business to any film photographers (ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE KNEW). My Story: I was recommended Dunwoody Photo by a different camera shop in Atlanta because they told me that they can get me my film and scans back within a couple days. I said great, drove up there and dropped off some film to be developed and some already developed rolls to be scanned. The drop off was easy, I told the person at the front what I wanted done, asked the cost of developing and scanning. They told me the cost of developing plus 5 dollars per roll if you want a digital scans. I said great and left my rolls and information. When I come back I am hit with a bill exceeding 200 dollars in scan cost! Why?!? Because what they failed to mention to me until all the scans where in my email and it was time to pay that they actually charge per slide not per roll on already developed rolls. For 5 rolls of film, it cost the same for Dunwoody Photos to scan it as it would for you to buy your own Film Photo Scanner. They failed to mention this to me and in a times as hard as this because of COVID - 19 I can only say, business practices like these are disgusting. Not only that. The scans were not good quality. Obviously rushed and not worth getting them done at the shop even for 5 dollars a roll. read more

I had multiple old photos that I wanted to be copied/reproduced. While it took longer than expected, they did a great job & were reasonably priced. I would have appreciated more of a definitive timeframe of how long I could expect to wait to get them back. That could have alleviated some anxiety since these were old family photos, but the output was good! read more

I got a few rolls of film developed here recently. customer service was not great, but my scans came back quick. Now, I'm a novice photographer still learning about my camera settings and different speeds so I'm sometimes slightly disappointed with how my photos look, but I also got some older film developed that was shot years ago with different lighting and different cameras via my mom. All of my 9 rolls of film that came from different cameras, different speeds, different lighting and different time periods has a dark blue tinge to it. Even after editing in Lightroom, the photos are still really dark. It's obviously very disappointing and frustrating because this was not cheap. I don't believe this is something that happened on my end, but either in the developing or scanning process. I probably won't be going back to Dunwoody Photo because I simply don't trust their quality of work. read more

An Atlanta treasure! I love this place, for film developing and purchasing. I just recently got into film after acquiring my mom's old camera, and with Dunwoody Photo being the only place recommended to me I made the 45 min drive from south atlanta. Pricing is great for scans + prints, and they work great with you for shipping since I can't always make the drive on weekends. When I do have my photos shipped, they always come super fast. And I've ever had a problem or question, I was easily helped via email or one phone call. Keep up the great work guys! read more

Great experience with Dunwoody Photo. Always professional and their prints are great. They go out of their way to provide an excellent product. Have been using them for years, had old pictures scanned, film developed and printed in many sizes, had picture books organized and printed, and other services. So glad there is a local photofinishing store where you can go in and have work completed, and if the color is somewhat off due to old film or a photographer who is not a professional, they will help with corrections to make the pictures look better. read more

I had 8 rolls of film that I had been carting around for several years and finally decided to have them developed. The problem was - I needed them for a Christmas present and finding a one hour place was pretty much out of the question. I happened upon this little gem of a store thanks to Google and WOW! Dunwoody Photo did an amazing job! The store's staff was incredibly friendly, my order was ready when they said it would be and the store itself was so bright and clean that I couldn't help but leave happy! I come here to get my film developed/scanned, and every time I come I have a less than enjoyable experience due to the lack of customer service (especially from Michael) I'm always pleased with the results, and I keep returning because it's the only place I'm aware of that gives you back your negatives in the Atlanta area. Michael is condescending and has a hard time with the concept of "the customer is always right" I'm writing this review not to be petty, but to hopefully inspire some change in Michael's attitude towards his customers. I can assure you if another lab opened up in the area I would never return to Dunwoody Photo. I've gone as far as to buy my own chemicals and develop them at home just to avoid an interaction with Michael. read more

This is the best photo lab in the Atlanta metro area. I've been taking my film rolls (35mm and 120 format, black and white and color negative) to them for the past two years and I've always been satisfied with the results. I've never experienced damage or improperly processed negatives. An example is chemical residue on the processed negatives that occurred 3 times with negatives processed by "The Doctor." I've also brought in digital pictures on a USB flash drive for prints. I was able to quickly select the photos, size, quantity, from one of the available computer stations and submit my order in the shop. Christina said they would be ready in about an hour. I returned after running errands for a couple hours and the prints were ready and looked spactacular. And if you're running low on rolls they also have film available for purchase (Ilford, Kodak, CineStill, Fuji) We're fortunate to have friendly, local film lab that does great work in the Atlanta metro area. I highly recommend Michael and team whether you are getting film rolls processed or enlargements printed. They do it well and always with a smile! read more

Good place! Average price. The studio is comfortable and nice. I developed 120mm which is hard to find a place to develop nowadays. Walmart, CVS etc are not doing it anymore. I tried to do online, but i have to paid $6 for the shipping, so I rather to go here in store. Staff is nice, I will come again! read more

Compared to the previous store I went to, the turn around times are amazing, price is great, and customer service is through the roof. Staff was rude - almost like I was a bother. Takes forever to get photos processed. Not many choices in the immeadiate ATL area.

Have taken passport size photo here. Not at all happy with the result. Photo was taken on non professional camera with in built flash. The print came out without sufficient light which could have at least corrected during processing. Customer experience was not good. The service time was good and got the pictures taken and prints were received under 20 Mins. Will not visit again. read more

After spending hundreds of dollars to have our children's photos put on canvas, we received the worst customer service I've ever experienced. They initially accused us of not having prepaid for our photos and wanted to charge double! The quality of the canvas was below average and fell apart before we could even mount. I'd heard horror stories about this place but decided to use their scanning services anyway. I had a deadline to meet and not enough time to do it all myself. I dropped off 4 rolls of film to be processed and scanned and another 11 rolls with select images that needed scanning as well. I was given 5 tickets, which at the time made sense to me. 1 for each roll to be processed and 1 to cover the other tolls that needed scanning. When the processing and scanning was finally done, I only received 5 rolls of film back. Where was the rest of my film? what happened to the rest of the scans I ordered? "This is all we have from you" they said. After a month of phone calls in an attempt to locate my "lost" negatives, I was called an unorganized liar and blamed countless times for the mistakes this business had made in dealing with my film. I finally collected my contact sheets for the missing negatives and hauled myself to the store. When presented with the contact sheets, the owner (?) held up his finger, walked into a closet, and returned with my "missing" negatives. "We found these this morning. They fell behind something." No apology. No attempt to compensate me for the headache, lost time, and missed deadline. They had never been scanned, never even shuffled through in the folder I dropped them off in. I walked out. I will never give this guy my business again. I don't know who these other reviewers are who gave 5 stars, but they've clearly not been to this place recently. It's a mess. The scans I did receive were the lowest DPI possible, I wasn't even given a choice. read more

I gave Dunwoody Photo a try based on online reviews and a recommendation from a generally reliable source. I can't say as to how good they are with developing negative film or making prints. I generally shoot transparencies (E-6 processing) which they develop once a week, on Saturdays. I dropped my film off on Friday, and went back on Tuesday to pick it up. It wasn't developed--I got a rigamarole of "Well, maybe there were orders in front of yours" or "Maybe we didn't have enough orders to batch process". Upshot--wait another week. No warning when I dropped it off. No apology. To my mind, this is the very essence of truly lousy customer service. They may be the only local shop doing processing, but I won't use them again. I took my film and I am sending it a reliable lab in Denver. I might try them when I shoot black and white--but probably not. If you shoot transparencies, I suggest you avoid them. Their attitude was much less than helpful as well. It's a pity that they are the only local game--but at this rate, I can't see them staying in business, particularly when there are good mail order alternatives. read more
