Unlike many other unrelated classes and trainings I have attended where the instructor struggles to captivate the classes attention, Mike knows how to do it. Mike is extremely knowledgeable, professional, passionate and enthusiastic in his approach. He knows how and when to engage with individuals. Some individuals may be overwhelmed or intimidated going into such critical and important training, but Mike treats each person with respect and kindness while still being able to stress the gravity of the information he teaches you. On the shooting course, Mike clearly gives step by step instructions for each phase while continuously emphasizing the importance of safety. I noticed him also giving great tips and advice ensuring the shooters are the most comfortable and confident they can be during the course of action. It's not uncommon to come across some big egos in the realm of firearms, so it was especially refreshing having an instructor who is very approachable and humble. This morning, before today's curriculum began, we debriefed on the range qualification yesterday. He shared his view and any needed advice with each of us, as well as giving us each a chance to share our own thoughts, feedback, and even suggestions. By the end of just one session, they had me down to a 5% miss rate, missing only 1 out of 20 shots. Kelly taught all 4 of my kids and my wife (and me) how to handle a pistol safely how to operate it safely, how a range operates. How to fire them safely and accurately. I think this is something they'll remember their entire lives. It may seem silly, but these are really life lessons that should be taught young. I was worried that the information would be presented in a confusing way or that I wouldn't understand anything but that wasn't the case. Everything was clearly explained (in the classroom and the range). Safety was, of course, their number one priority and I felt very safe on the range.
