It seems silly, but your child may someday come upon a gun or be handed one by a dumb friend. Accidents happen and people do stupid things. Kelly taught all 4 of my kids and my wife (and me) how to handle a pistol safely how to operate it safely, how a range operates. How to fire them safely and accurately. I think this is something they'll remember their entire lives. It may seem silly, but these are really life lessons that should be taught young. Kelly was a consummate professional, good with the kids, good with the adults, and really supportive. I feel very lucky to have had her class and am glad my children have had this experience.

I previously took Defensive 1 with Matt, along with another course before that, and Matt was also a great instructor. I took my CCW training and qual with Bay Area Tactical and have to say, they are fantastic group of guys. The courses were great in that they struck what in my opinion was a good balance of basic and more advanced instruction that allowed both beginners and more seasoned individuals to gain something from the course. The instructors were very friendly and gave good and solid advice. I did receive a critique on my shooting form a few times, but it was given in a constructive way, and it continues to be helpful to this day. I did end up passing my qual on the first try! I will most likely take my next CCW trainings with this group in the future when I will have to renew my permit. Highly recommend!
