I have been shopping here recently in preparation for a new job and the service I have received has been superb. I had a situation where I had ordered a few suit jackets and they ended up not fitting. Loretta and Minnette were very quick to solve the complications with my order and went above and beyond my expectations with exchanging the orders in store and then getting the correct sizes ordered and sent to the store. I will continue to come back to the location due to the service I have received from these two and would recommend this location to anyone. JCPenny will continue to get my business when it comes to my finer clothing and suit needs for work and I look forward to my next transaction! The billing dept is charging me late fees on their card that I pay on time every month. They're saying for the month of October my monthly payment went up to $53 just for that month? My monthly payment is $42 and I pay $50 and they increased to $53 causing my account to apply this crazy $$ amount late fee that customer service couldn't explain why? Spoke to another service rep with again no explanation the reason for just October monthly payment amount increase? my statement for November doesn't specify any increase for October and no late fees, but received the text of late fees? With no explanation reason why???? CARD ...BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE SHADY WAY TO GET MORE MONEY FROM CONSUMERS EVEN IF MONTHLY PAYMENTS ARE PAID ON TIME?? SHADY! SHADY! 3 people including a manager stated if I didn't like a ring which was purchased through them online, I can return it and they will "honor the Black Friday" deal I believed them. I end up not liking the ring, bring it back and the person who first told me this now treats me like she has no idea what I'm talking about. I stated everything that happened that day including waiting hours to place the order because the manager messed up the computer, opened a JCPenney credit card. She stated she had no way to honor the discount. Once the manager left she tells me she can give me a discount but not honor it. Which was a bs discount. I filed a complaint but they deserve to be fired for lying and emotionally distressing customers. It's not okay to use customers to make a sale and treat them as if I'm a child after and pretend I don't know what I'm talking about. I hope karma gets them. read more

I've made enough trips to JCPenney over the years to have their card and have a familiarity with a good deal of their products. They have a large bedding section, a ton of clothes including a petites section for me and a long and tall section for my husband, luggage, even a pet section. In theory, this is a great store. I understand the need to keep the layout fresh but I have to wander the store for a long time to find the section I am looking for because, in regards to clothing, they always move things around. When I am looking for work clothes they more often have what's trendy now versus a decent classic and professional section. Sometimes I find something great, but I better buy it in a few colors because the next couple of visits may be futile. They also run out of sizes a lot and it's never clear when you can count on them to restock it. The staff is friendly but the amount of staff is inconsistent. There have been times when someone spent a lot of time helping me find something and other times where I am on my own. The one place that's never staffed well is the shoe department. If you aren't going to staff it then please expand it to include more of your stock so I don't need to ask someone to go check my size in the back. I have experienced customers getting snippy and conniving to avoid waiting their turn due to the lack of staffing. I don't need some old lady pointing to where the Clarks are and telling me they are there when I, of course, already checked and waited in this line 9 minutes to ask the lady who works here. I've never tried to convince someone in front of me to get out of line, but I see it here all the time, unbelievable. Don't worry, not docking a star for the customers. The website is a great and easy option. I don't mind using it for things I have owned. However, as ladies know there is no such thing as your size. You could be a 2 with one designer or a 6 in another. Also, if I'm going to wear shoes for 15 hours a day then I want to test it out in person. I will say clothing lasts longer from here than other popular stores. This goes for other products too, we got a suitcase in 2012 that's holding up nicely. So great quality, inconsistent staffing and few kinks to work out. read more

I went a week ago to look for shoes for an interview coming up. I was walking around for 20 minutes trying to find someone to help me. No one was around to answer my questions, as if NO one was working. I desperately needed a question answered regarding a pair of shoes I needed ASAP. So I tried again today. Same problem, there was NO one I could find to ask for help. I just said whatever, grabbed some shoes, and checked out. I waited 30+ minutes to be checked out, and went back and forth to both registers. At both registers, there was only ONE person in front of me buying 1-4 things, so idk how it possibly took SO LONG. 3 people behind me became so impatient and left the store. The employees move as slow as sloths and there was only one cashier at both registers. On top of that, when I FINALLY got to check out, the lady (she was blonde and had short hair) was so aggressively pushy and rude. She asked me to put my # in for rewards, I said I don't have one/don't want one. She gave me a RUDE, judgmental, confused look and kept trying to get me to sign up after I said no twice. After that, she tried to get me to sign up for a card, where I said no at LEAST 3 times. And every time I said no, she gave a rude confused look and kept trying to sell to me. I said I don't shop here, and I'm only getting heels for an interview, and she said "well, WE are interviewing. TODAY. So do you want one?" And gave me the same rude look. I went back and forth a few times about how I am not interested and she finally let me leave. Staff doesn't know how to interact with people, move SO slow, have no urgency, do not reach out to customers, and are extremely pushy/aggressive. read more

Going through renovations seems to be status quo for JCP. Every time I go into one, they seem to be either reinventing themselves or remodeling. This time was remolding, and there was a smell of paint in the air throughout the store along with a bunch of half empty rows of product and a chaotic flow of traffic inside and out. read more

I've only ever dropped in for online ordering pickup, so my experience is limited to interaction with the catalog staff. So far everyone I've dealt with has been friendly, but this side of the store tends to be pretty quiet, so it can be a challenge to find somebody manning the counter. I'll update this review when I get a chance to look at the rest of the store. read more

Very poor experience at this store during this visit. But what made this poor experience worse was the checkout. The girl ran my credit card and the transaction went through and halfway through the receipt stopped printing. I waited 15 minutes for her to try to figure out the problem. She finally had to get her manager involved. Then After another 15 minutes the manager said that the receipt will not print because the transaction did not go through. I was out of time to argue as I was now late for an engagement. They reran my card and printed a new receipt. Later that evening I pulled my credit card statement and they DID change me twice for my one purchase. They swore that there was only going to be one charge. Now I have the inconvenience of having to go back and dispute the second charge. Who has time for these childish mistakes? read more

I was charged $100 at the salon for a texturizer a few months ago, which is fine if you're dealing with a professional job and not getting hustled. I left the salon with a sopping wet head, because after my hair was washed, I was told it would cost an extra $70 to have it straightened. Glad I found a new stylist! Worst eyebrow wax appointment for $15 I ever received, the woman who did my eyebrows had short curly brown hair, I don't remember her name. But this was done inside the jcpenney salon at golden triangle mall. She waxed off more than half of each eyebrow off or the majority of each individual brow, since I have been plucking my eyebrows and waxing for thirteen years, I asked her to just wax off the stray hairs below the eyebrow, I wasn't expecting my eyebrows to be waxed so thin I look like an entirely different person. I could've done a better job myself. And won't go back to this location again.. plus she managed to pluck some in the middle of the front of my more thick brow too.. so she intended to make them look bad and I even tipped her three dollars and unfortunately I can't that back either. It was a terrible experience overall and that's why I'm giving them a one star review. They don't have a page for the jcpenney salon which they need to do, if at some point I'm able to get the girls name. I'll edit this review to include it or make an entirely new review with the employee first name included. Just found out her name was deb, by calling the jcpenney salon! Do not see DEB to get your eyebrows done! She will destroy your eyebrows and she waxed the top half of my thinnest brow which I also told her not to do! She's terrible and is a bad reflection on the store of jcpenney and their salons as a whole. Her name is deb or that's what she goes by there at least, that was the first time I'd met deb and seen her working there, she clearly doesn't know how to work with people and has poor customer relations skills.
