Nice store great items throughout. Store is very crowded. Prices seem higher but they have specials daily.

I have been coming here for awhile and I agree that the prices have gotten to be higher recently. I do like the daily color tags that are for discounts and sometimes you can find a decent deal but overall they're not as overpriced as some thrift stores. There is just so much here to look at! And on sale days, be prepared to wait in a very long line, but on an average day, the wait is usually very quick. No dressing rooms are open still so the only way to try on is over your clothes in the aisles. read more

****DO NOT DONATED TO THIS LOCATION*** I've been a long time shopper finding deals for my family, but recently under New Management prices have Increased tremendously! This is suppose to be an affordable place, and just because an item has a tag or in Great condition its should not be priced almost retail! I spoke to employees and they agreed others have complained as well saying New Management has increased the prices which are a little unfair. I just dont understand? Plus pictured $98.00 for a Fake Burberry Coat??? And they also have some Fake Prada boots selling for over $200, which they just lowered the price to $198. Just hard the worst experience with a manger who had a horrible attitude. She doesn't know how to talk to people. She is there right now as I am typing this. Why would someone put this individual as a manager and they have know people skills. She is rude and condescending. She talks to you like you have no education or comprehension of English. I asked about a basket that may come in a set and I asked if she could give it to me as set and not sell it individually and she was absolutely rude when she answered. She basically told me No! And then tried to tell me how dumb I was because I didn't pay attention to the tags. Wow. I have never had this kind of experience before. I am a big thrifter and a valued customer and I have been featured on your website. So for me to be treated this poorly by this individual I am so disappointed. Upper management - pls look into this female who is a manager at this store. She needs to be properly trained on how to deal with customers with respect and to be humble. This may be of unpopular opinion but this place is just over priced. They have a good selection but once you see the price for second hand/thrift items forget it. What a shame. They would make more money pricing like a thrift shop than an upscale resale. Thrift is in the name after all. read more

Be careful with Deborah. She charges you twice for things. I had 4 items to buy, and she charged me for 6 items. $6.99 TWICE and $3.99 TWICE. I asked her why was my balance $40 and she reviewed it and asked a manager to remove it. Something was off about her attitude so I don't know if it was intentionally done or not. Pretty terrible customer service. Young lady in red vest with glasses took an item to the back to get priced for my 7 year old daughter. She came back without it and said "it's priced!, but you have to wait until someone brings it out." Ok?? She never explained why this was the process. Just that we would have to wait. "And there is only one person working back there." My daughter is crying as it's a stuffy of course she fell in love with! So we are at the register waiting. No explanation. No assistance. Nothing. Just. Waiting. Frustrating. If she could not sell it to me then tell me that. Explain the why. But no, just "wait" anyways. I don't recommend this store if you're looking for good customer service. The store itself is well organized and clean. I do, however, have an issue with the pricing. The items they sell have been DONATED to them. Why are the prices so high? The prices are higher than those of the Uptown Cheapskate across the street, only the clothes at UC are of higher quality, less worn, and more modern in style. I assume it's to capitalize on the rise in popularity of vintage clothing, but even then, not every t-shirt, sneaker, or sweater fits that mold. Tbh this used to be my thrift shop to go! But over the years it's been getting way out of hand with the prices.... C'mon their stuff is used (some are HELLA USED) & they ask 30,40,50$ for it? So I was in Denton, and I decided to check out Thrift Giant, since I am a fan of the Irving location. This store is a bit smaller than Irving, but still quite large. It's also a bit more run down, less clean, and definitely has that thrift store smell. Still, they have a great assortment, including a lot of furniture that's structurally solid, but just dated. The kind of thing that's begging for a DIY makeover. I wanted to get some, but I have several projects on the back burner, and I don't want to become a hoarder. Furniture prices are great though, I saw a pair of chairs for $7 each, coffee table and end tables for 40 and a bookcase for 26. The clothes are also --mostly--in good condition, I did see a couple of stains and some pilling, definitely not as well curated as the Irving location. But they are well organized. They also have Denton-only store sales, some are one-day only. While I was there they were selling all long-sleeves for $1 each. Finally the unique quirky things were great! I saw tons of mid century 50s-70s stuff, and unique pieces like a table-top billiards. There was also a lot of silver plate that I would bet is worth more than they're asking. Never again! I was so excited to visit Thrift Giant. It is huge and the clothing section takes up a good portion of the store. However, I cannot get over the smell. I'm not new to thrift stores, but the smell? It's overwhelming. I tried to sift through the women's clothing, but couldn't get past their high price tags and the announcements. They announced current sale promotions and store positions (hiring) every couple of minutes. The same announcement on replay. Over and over again. No reason to return. read more

If could give a zero I would! The worst place ever, the cashiers do not tell the costumer that they are only accepting cash before they put their things and are ready to pay. They whisper about the costumers in Spanish and think the costumer doesn't understand. When you tell them something like I wish you could have said you were not taking cash before I went through the store and grabbed all I needed they get defensive and they start raising their voices. It might a second hand shop but they think they own the place, I wish they could get a way better manager cause that place needs a serious attitude adjustment. I don't like going to stores and getting disrespected when I'm being polite and telling them a suggestion. This place is great! New clothes and items put out regularly and in my size for a change (32-33 men). Great place to get hoodies too! My only complaint is sometimes it takes the employees a while to get checkout. The staff isn't the friendliest. But hey, it's a thrift store and the selection is nice. read more

Decent size. Lots of selection. Changing rooms to try on. Unfortunately it seems they take a lot of the stuff other stores won't, due to condition. Boys section is tiny. Highest prices I've found, much like Plato's Closet. Good thing is they do have 50% off days, but there will be a huge crowd and the try on rooms are closed (understandably) during those days. read more

This review is specifically for the Denton Thrift Giant location. I had a beautiful, wooden entertainment center that I couldn't take with me when I moved. My move out date was 12/31/15 so I scheduled them to come pickup my furniture on 12/26/15 in the morning. The scheduler told me that they should be at my apt. sometime around 10:30am. No problem! BUT, I get a call from the mover at 8am saying thay they'd be at my apt in 30 minutes. This is while I'm living in Dallas so obviously I can't be in Denton in 30 minutes. I asked if they could give me like 15 more minutes to get there, and they said they are on a tight schedule (being the day after Christmas, I doubt it) and can't wait or come back later. So I reschedule it to be picked up on 12/30/15 and told them that the apt. manager would let them into my apt to get it. They confirmed everything was good! THEN, on 12/30/15 I call the apt manager to see if they came to get it, and they didn't!!!! NO SHOW!!! Are you serious?!? I called Thrift Giant's manager and he took down my info and assured me that he'd call me back and email me confirmation that it would be picked up....NOTHING!!! This management is a complete joke! I gave them my info 3 times.....3 TIMES!! UGH!! Don't schedule anything for pickup!! Not only does their pick up service suck, but there was ONLY ONE employee that spoke enough English to answer my question in the store that day. I can't even enjoy their products or prices because of the awful customer service!! read more

Best thrift store in Denton! I needed to get an oil change this weekend went to wally world to check that off my list. while i waited i went into Thrift Giant to pass some time. Great selection of clothing for women and children, accessories were super cute as well. I really appreciated how organized the store seemed. THE BEST MOMENT; i was wondering if they had discount tags, thrift stores sometimes have different color tags and will have a color or 2 discounted that day, as soon as that though ran across my mind an intercom system alerted me of what color tags were 25-50% off. I was so excited that i didn't have to roam around aimlessly to find out. Check out lines at both entrances. However, I did notice that they didn't always have staff to help checkout as soon as you were ready. Either way i was super pleased with this store and will definitely be going back. read more

Not only have I shopped in thrift stores for years but worked in this business just as long until I retired. Sadly, Denton has a gold mine here but they blow it with their crazy unorganized floor plan and relying on sales, sales, sales. I always wanted repeat customers coming in for our great prices and quality merchandise. Rule number one...your store should never stink of dirty feet from too many nasty shoes! Rule number two..stop putting out the torn, stained and damaged goods..waste of sales space. Rule three...stop pricing for the "sales". Your customers will wait for them and in doing so you are losing money. And please...dirty stained furniture in front of your store...ewwww! just bad. read more

I have found so many items that were a good buy at this store; it is mind-boggling. There is a back parking lot; it is easy to get to. It is the second entrance going south off Brinker Road. You do not have to go through the Walmart parking lot. The employees are very nice. They have terrific 50% sales off the entire store! I love this place! read more

I have loved this store and told friends to go there many times. The last two trips I noticed the prices seemed higher. Today I found a cover to go over my dress. The fabric was very thin (worn) and there were snags on one arm and a small hole in the other. It had a full price ticket so I showed it to the cashier to see if I could get a discount. She had to call the manager and then it had to go to the production people. I was told no because that was why it was not marked up twice the price listed. It's a thrift store, not a new goods retail storefront, so lower your expectations while shopping here. You can find some good deals IF you're willing to sift through the chaotic layout. The clothing section is daunting, home decor and kitchenware sections are just a jumbled mess, and that musty attic smell pervades the entire store. I did have some luck finding some blankets in a much better organized section of the store. And when they have a good sale, I'm drawn back to look for craft project material. read more

This is a very busy thrift store all the time. It is very well organized but kind of pricey compared to Goodwill. It is starting to have that thrift store smell, and the floors always need cleaning; especially in the dressing rooms. I have complained about it a couple of times. read more

Prices are very good and they always seem to have significant discounts on one or more type of merchandise, based on color-coded pricing. In the beginning this Thrift Giant was nice and had good pricing. Now the store is not kept clean and the floors are always dirty. The store now has a nasty smell and the pricing has gone up. You can get nicer things from a garage sale or other thrift stores cheaper. This store needs to go back and redo the store pricing and clean it up.
