Went to look for bathroom decor, and was able to find a shower curtain and towels. Best of all, they were on sale. The store was not busy for it to be a weekend. I didn't see any workers to help me find what i was looking for or to check in while shopping. Upon going to checkout. All the cashiers were huddled behind the counter laughing and joking with a customer. Their backs were turned towards me, so they didn't realize i was standing there waiting to check out. My daughters made an appointment for us to take family Christmas photos. We had an 11:00 time slot and didn't go back until 11:45. There were a ton of people waiting. They have a lot of great Groupon deals. Check there first. The photographer was very friendly and helpful. She did a great job. Very patient and prepared for dealing with babies. I can't wait to see the photos. Everyone waiting had color coordinated or matching outfits. The holidays are such a fun time. Go check them out. Be prepared to wait! read more

Came here after Christmas to do a few returns. They had two people working the return line so that was great. It wasn't a very long wait. But what I was surprised about is when I went out to shop for a few things that all of the registers were not open. I had to search for somewhere that I could actually pay for my items. During the holidays you would think that they would at least have all of the registers open. read more

Attention all shoppers! Do not attempt to shop at this JCP if you're in any type of hurry. I do not understand how retailers don't provide enough sales staff to accommodate the busy Christmas shopping season. The store looked a mess. Especially the shoe section. The first floor appeared to only have two checkout areas (not including jewelry or Sephora). I had the good fortune of finding lots of items at great prices. But the MISfortune of a checkout line about 30 folks deep (no exaggeration) and TWO cashiers. I, along with everyone else, stood in the checkout for approximately 30 minutes. Come on JCP! It almost looks like they're closing. Overall, the store is very sparse. Manyi sale items were cleaned out, including the underwear I specifically went there for. I couldn't find it on the website, so I took the ride. I was only able to get two pair in the size I wanted, but...bonus! they were on sale for about a third of the price they normally are, with the purchase of two or more. I was a loyal Penny's shopper for many, many years when I worked at a job that required business casual clothing. I brought my bring to be sized and they lost my ring. They have yet to return my product and they act like it's my fault they can't find my ring. I can't believe this. All retailers have struggled due to the pandemic shutdowns and supply chain issues. This JCPenney location is working hard to provide goods and excellent customer service. Lines can be long but the associates are doing the best that they can. Good selection of items but the absolutely slowest checkout lines I have ever stood in. 2nd in line but going on 20 min. Seriously 20 min to go two spots. Never seen people move so slow. Went to JCPenney's and tried to buy $300 worth of drapes, we went to check out, we stood in line for 10 minutes while a clerk was unable to figure out how to deal with the customer in front of us. we then moved over to another area where the clerk was talking on the phone for 10 minutes with a customer about design questions and was making no attempt to end the conversation or place it on hold to check us out. A sales associated walked by and we asked for her assistance in checking out. she told us to go to another area, I mentioned to her that we had $300 of merchandise and that we had already been waiting 20 minutes to check out. She said she was trying to help and sent us to another area, when we got there there were 8 people in line. Needless to say we didn't purchase anything and never will at this store. Would give zero stars if possible, thank God for Amazon! read more

If I were you I would not order from JC Penny online if you want to return something and choose not to take it back to there store they charge you $8.00 to return your items. There is a reason that people order online so they don't have to go into the store. So all they want to do is force you to go in which in turn makes me never want to purchase from them again. I decided to pop into JCPenney West County while I waited for my wife to finish up shopping. horrible mistake.. Not only was it mind bogglingly HOT in the whole establishment, but a thick poop-like odor seemed to hang throughout the whole store. Are you kidding me? The floors were dingy and there were brown streak marks in various areas of the store. Also, messy! Clothes seemed to be thrown throughout different areas. Now as we move past the physical disgust, the employees are RUDE. they do not acknowledge you, and if you ask them a question, they will act severely put out. Horrible customer service. I was living a nightmare. Overall a disgusting, disturbing, rude and careless environment with below-par cheap product. Save yourself a little time and do not stop by. read more

This location is the dirtiest Penney's I've ever been in. I was there a couple of times toward the end of the summer. Both times it was way too warm in the store. The cashier who checked me out was sweating. The dressing rooms were disgusting. Giant dust balls. Multiple lights out. Piles of clothes. Ripped wallpaper. Avoid if you can. Messy, sloppy, disorganized store. Checkout areas are few and far between and it's almost impossible to find someone to help - we were there on a Saturday afternoon around 5pm and I had to flag down a custodian to ask where the boys shoes were located. On top of the horribly slow check out (25 min wait minimum) they didn't check the box of shoes we bought and we ended up with two right shoes!!! My son tried on one of the shoes and we've never had this happen so we didn't think to check. I would give this store 0 stars if I could. Simply horrible. read more

About their portrait studio: We recently went here to have our kids pictures taken - we waited a half hour, finally got in, were totally rushed - she spent less than 1/2 hour - she only took 25 pictures, we could only use 4 of them - then waited a half hour to even see them. Not my favorite store by any means. I think you generally have to be a boney ole blue hair to enjoy it, but sometimes you can find some nice items. I went in there looking for new sheets. I found some I like, but of course, they are now out of stock, and on back order. So off to Bed Bath and Beyond I went, and spent too much damned money! read more

I've always liked this JCPenney but my visit this week was a little disappointing. Seems the bedding and bath section is lacking something. And not as many women's plus size cotton night gowns to choose from. (Like the Liz wear). JCPenney has great customer service and frequent sales. Generally a nice selection of clothing in womens section. I also like the jewelry, shoes, and purse departments. I love the coupons they mail out! Went online to order an airfryer that was advertised I wanted to get it soon put my zip code in to see if any stores had it for pick up West County JC Penny said they had one available so I payed and requested to pick it up today what a big mistake. I received a text in a couple of hours. I went to pick it up mind you no were did it say this is the last one because it is Open Box the customer service lady while I was in line she started talking about she hasn't had lunch and someone needs to relieve her very inappropriate to be saying in front of customers. Customers have the right to know you are paying full price for an open box item very deceitful. I didn't know that tell she handed me this 8 pound box taped up with scotch tape and was coming thru the box I tried to pick it up it was heavy plus I could fill the air fryer coming out of box I asked her did someone bring this back she said "I think so" I returned the air fryer I tried to carry it with it coming apart and very heavy I made a few steps and turned around went to desk and returned it. So I was charged full price for an open box I don't live close to this store I wanted it for a family gathering this weekend and this is what happened to me what poor customer service I received. read more

This year, we finally got all 14 of my grandma's grandchildren and great grandchildren together for a family photo for her Christmas present. This involves people from 5 different states, and some as young as one. We have been trying for a few years now to get us all in one spot so we could get an updated picture for our grandma, as our last one was over 10 years old. We got an appointment set up at JCP portraits and scheduled what to wear. When we all arrived, we were greeted to the worst photographer/sales person/secretary ever. After she took 10 shots of us as a group, we went and reviewed the picture. I thought only taking 10 with a group that large was odd. As we began to review our pictures, we were greeted with pictures that weren't ours. After a bit of confusion, we finally got to see what we were waiting for. It was a great set of pictures, except for a few of our cousins, who had been cut in half by the camera in every picture. We then had to call everyone back (the younger kids had gone to a play area) to get a new picture. We got reconfigured, with the photographer yelling at us that we were in the wrong place after she had moved us to that place, and got 5 new pictures. Only one had all of us in the shot, and it was horrible. Being there over an hour, we had to decide. Our photographer/sales person/secretary tried to sell us many packages and enhancements, also telling us we shouldn't order the 5x7 in any pose because it would cut someone off. We could've taken a better photo with an iPhone, which is just what we did after our horrible experience at JCP portraits. Thanks for the Christmas cheer! read more

I got some pictures of a newborn baby and although she wasn't the most cooperative the guy taking the pictures only gave us 20 minutes to try to get good pictures and he was the only one working there so he kept having to go out to the front and back in! I normally would not take the time to write a review, but after my trip to Penney's tonight, I feel I have to. I have shopped Penney's as long as I can remember and have never seen things in such a terrible state. All, but one of the fitting rooms were blocked off. I saw 4 employees total at 7 pm on a Friday night. Never did get to checkout. The dressing room I was allowed to use was full of trash. French fries and hangers and trash all over the floor. All departments were messy. The price checker machines have been removed and when I overheard another customer ask about them, she was told they are now at the checkouts. None were to be found. That was a whole other story. I waited in line at one checkout about 15 minutes. Was not moving anywhere, so went to another. There was one man there who said someone would be over to help me. It never happened. I hung the clothing I was going to purchase on a rack and left. I don't see how this store will stay in business much longer. I will not be back. I've had problems with this store in the past. Last week I went there looking for a men's jacket. I not only found a good selection (better than Macy's and Nordstrom's) but there was a half price sale. In the past I had been looking for a pair of corduroy pants in a hard to find color. They not only had the color I wanted but my size was on the top of the pile. These were also half price. The customer service has definitely improved. All of the employees I have encountered have been really nice. It's nice to see this store is turning things around. read more

Although I love the prices at JCP, many of the young clerks leave a lot to be desired. It seems as of late, many young people are working the registers. Yay for them for finding a job, but the ones I've encountered know nothing about work ethics. There was too much goofing around in the menswear. The young men didn't even notice the long line of customers waiting to check out. They continued to clown around until the manager came near, and then they snapped into shape and acknowledged the customers. In the ladies section, I went to return a skirt. I had the receipt and it was a very easy transaction. The attitude that I got from the young lady at the register was terrible. She barely spoke to me, I was not even sure when I was finished. She never looked up at me or even said thank you. As much as I appreciate a good bargain, I will stick to a store with friendlier workers. read more
