First time going to a Von Maur and the thing that stuck out to me the most was there was an actual person playing a grand piano by the escalators making it give off very classy vibes. There was a wide selection of luxury brands all over the place which was nice to see. The carpeting and fixtures could do some upgrading since it looks like they're stuck in the 80s/90s, but other than that I have no complaints. This beautiful store takes me back to pre-Covid days. Wonderfully friendly sales people, impeccable displays, everything in perfect order... can't wait to return. Nordstrom, Saks and Neiman Marcus could learn something from the current Von Maur, as far as service goes. Yawn City. I have never been so bored shopping in my life. My friend Norma and I had heard all sorts of exciting things about this store, so we ventured out of the city to give it a try. The merchanding was boring and nothing really caught our eye. For me personally, I did like their selection of Tommy Bahama, but I can find a better variety and prices at Kim Kuehner in Ladue. They did have a very colorful selection of socks which is one of my weaknesses, but not worth the drive to Lake Saint Louis. Looking at cocktail dresses and power suits in the ladies department, we were amazed at the contruction and name brands available. Neither of them would have been worth the prices they were asking. We also checked out the room for clearance shoes. Carrie Bradshaw would have ran out of the room saying, "WTF". What shocked us the most was the customer service. That is what we had heard so much about, how wonderful everyone was and they kiss your ass more then Nordstrom. While we browsed the entire store, including the jewelry counter, not one sales associate said a single word to us. I guess we looked like city folk (LOL). If you live near Von Maur, it may be an okay store to shop. However, for me the drive is to far and I pass way too many better stores to get out here. I had dinner at Prados in The Meadows with a couple of friends and we decided to stop into Von Maur afterwards. I hadn't been in the store since the first year the whole development opened. It's actually very nice. The store is well maintained and they had a lot of inventory and plenty of employees. It didn't appear that they were doing a whole lot of business but they must at some point. I felt like it was a step above Macy's but below Nordstrom. Much of the merchandise and brands were not recognizable to any of us. It's definitely different. I feel like the styles skewed towards St. Charles County but that is good they know their audience and cater to them but bad for me. Am I coming back? Probably not. The experience kind of put me to sleep and decoupaged old lady sweaters aren't my style! read more

My wife and mother spent a lot of money in this store in the past and also today. But, this morning my wife, mother, sister in law and my 2 year old daughter went in a "girls day" and started out in this store. My mother bought over $100 in makeup right away and then proceeded to shop around. While in the kids department, my mom heard her phone ring and was digging around in her purse trying to find it (which she also bought at this store) and was approached very abruptly by a worker that got right in her face and asked if everything was ok and if she needed anything. After my mother said no, the worker then went up to wife and sister in law and acted very strange as well. When they were leaving, they walked through the makeup department and the saleswoman that sold my mom the makeup ripped her bag away from her and said "I think I forgot to give you something" and then started to rummage through her bag. As a very high end retail store, you would think that they would have a little more class. If they thought they were stealing, which they were not, ripping a bag out of the arms of a 60 year old women that is with her daughters and granddaughter is completely unacceptable. And when they realized that there was no stolen merchandise, not a single apology was given! I will post this everywhere to keep people from shopping in this store! I live near Von Maur and check the racks regularly. The sale (circular) racks are all I can afford most of the time, but I always find well-made, flattering clothing for work and special occasions. If an item is out of stock in my size, they always manage to summon it from another store. What's more, they offer tailoring services with on-site seamstresses. Nearly all of my footwear comes from their selection, which offers many brands known for comfort anfashion. The personnel treat me like a valued client every time I'm there, though they are not overbearing. read more

I love Von Maur, it's about the only place I shop for clothes. I used to love shopping at Nordstrom, but lately their styles have changed so much I can't ever find anything I like. Macy's also used to be a great place to shop, but their stores have gotten so junkie I don't even like to go in any more. Von Maur has a nice variety for everyone. They have a good women's sport department, a lot of styles for plus sizes, great handbag department, etc. I have always found the staff to be helpful and courteous and the store is beautiful. read more

I had a ton of fun when I stopped in looking for something special for my two nieces. I was please with the friendly, helpful service as well as excited by the huge customer service department. After making my purchases, I simply took them to customer service where they wrapped everything beautifully for FREE! Also, I found out they offer free shipping to pretty much anywhere. Finally, if you care, they also offer a finance free store credit. That's pretty good in my book. Their prices are a little less than you would find at say Nordstrom's. I only gave them a 4-star rating because the men's department seriously lacked any sort of options for a man of my age and style. Now, if I were in my 60's and looking for boating attire, I might be good. With that said, however, their selection of men's shoes is incredible. You will find they carry top designers like Nordstrom's. the difference, the layout to start, you can shop many departments with ease the customer service unmatched they remember my name when I come in and send handwritten thank you cards. The piano player is relaxing and lovely and tops off the overall feel of a department store from long ago that truly values the guest.
