The review is intended for the Customer Service Furniture at 1-800-442-7902, just for people to know specifics. I purchased a very nice bed from JCP and it was delivered on July 10th, 2012. First, my husband was told that he needed to move the mattress before the delivery person would do anything. So he did as the individuals waited in our bedroom. Second, as the individuals were unloading the bed to assemble it, they realized that they did not have screws. So they left the bed spread out in our bedroom, and stated that some one would come back the next to assemble it. Thus, we had no bed to sleep on for one night. My husband was told by the JCP Customer Service that assembly would take place on the 11th and for the inconvenience we would receive 50$ JCP gift card. The 11th came and the assembly person arrived and had screws for the parts of the bed, but not the slacks that hold the box spring/mattress. The assembly person and customer services stated that we could purchase the screws and do it ourselves...but doesn't this negate the warranty????? Also, we wanted the bed to be assembled as a traditional style bed, not a platform bed, since we have a box spring that was recently purchased less than a year ago. So, after speaking with Customer Service for the second day regarding the slacks and assembly, they order another bed so that it can be assembled currently, apparently the foot board needed to be replaced. So 3 days later, we have another delivery, and we explain to this new person what we wanted. The third delivery person/assembly person states that if we wanted the draws for the bed, which we did, then we would need to have bed assembled as a platform bed in order for there to be room under the bed, which made complete sense. I did asked the person if he had screws for the slacks and he stated he did and him and his partner were kind enough to remove the box spring and mattress to screw down the slacks put the bed back together. What was interesting in all of this is when the third delivery person called Customer Service and attempted to explain the issue, the Customer Service person was rude to him. In fact, I had to get on the phone to explain the situation, that it was impossible for the bed to be assembled the way I had asked in the store. Given, it was my slight error with misunderstanding the assembly, but I expected the Customer Service and the store to know this little bit of information and not give us the run around. In addition we still have not received the gift card, although we were told it would take 10-14 days to be sent to use. I called today, which streams me, and was told that there was nothing in the system regarding the gift card for inconvenience and this Customer Service person stated she placed the request in the system today. Will I purchase something from JCP again, I am not sure. If I do, I will make darn sure I cannot find my items any where else. read more
