Went to get some new outfits for work. All staff was super helpful and Brian the Cashier (even though sad I told him no to the credit card) was awesome in answering my questions and helping me out. It was nice to see the young staff working, interacting and having fun at work. That is not seen much anymore. I'm reviewing the salon only. I had made 2 appointments online for my mother and I as a surprise Birthday gift for her. We arrived about 10 minutes prior to our appointments and they weren't quite ready for us yet. The lady running the register at the time was new and didn't know much about anything. My stylist name was ISIS, which explained everything extremely well! ISIS done exactly what I asked for with only the dead ends taken off along with some long layers. I also got a hair treatment to aid in the hard water I have to use to wash my hair in. It brings the vitamins and minerals back in to the hair. My Mom got the same things done to her hair as I got done. The young lady she had was very inexperienced and ISIS had to help her with doing things, which is fine. The one thing that was annoying is she didn't get all the soap out of my Mom's hair. Instead of taking her back to the sink to rinse it out, she just used a squirt bottle with water in it to "try" to remove the excess. Yeah, that didn't work out! Yet she just covered it up and went with it. Understandably everyone has to start somewhere, but shampoo/rinse should be the first thing you are taught! For the price I was charged I don't feel we got adequate value. I feel the job done on my hair was fair, but not on my Mom's. If I had to break it down.... I would give ISiS- 5 stars and the new young lady Mom had 1 star. So since 2.5 isn't an option, I'm going with a 2 for the star review. read more

I recently had Christmas family photos taken in your studio and decided to browse the store afterward. I came across a Christmas wreath and was tempted to buy it, but I decided against it. As I was walking out, the alarm went off. I returned to the store, looked at the cashier, and walked back out, but the alarm didn't go off again. I was bothered by the alarm situation and really wanted the wreath. So, I went back to JC Penney to check if the wreath was still there and discuss my experience. The cashier told me that JC Penney had had a black woman who wore a big coat, carried a large bag, and had a distinctive facial expression. She had been coming into their store and stealing merchandise. The black woman had recently walked out of the store with a basket of items, and the security guards could only take pictures of her before turning her over to the local police. The cashier went on to tell me that the woman was on drugs and that "they" take the stuff and sell it. The cashier's explanation for their store was so disturbing that I felt violated. read more

You know the aging that all things are not created equally . . . Well this store is one of those that is not like the other but not in a good way. Came here looking for Big & Tall, specifically a belt. After walking circles, Elizabeth came to ask if we were finding everything okay. We told her what we were looking for however she then wasn't able to help direct us to anything. She said she knew that they carry up to 5X but besides that she didn't know much else. As we were checking out, once again Elizabeth was there to check us out. She asked if we were reward members - we are - and she asked if we would be using our reward bucks, however what she didn't ask was "do you have any coupons today?" She cashed us out and I asked can I use coupons and she said well, do you have coupons? Well yes I did and not once did you ask. So we asked if we could return and redo the transaction and she said "well, you will lose your reward dollars". As platinum reward members this is poor customer service. Likely last time visiting this store. read more

Paid $2,000.00 for an engagement ring and also bought insurance for approximately $200.00 The setting fell off about a week later. They wouldn't repair it or replace it. I found out that they have NO WARRANTY on jewelry. They offered a buy back through the insurance, which was my only choice. The buy back was by means of a JCPenney gift card for the amount paid for the ring, no refund for the sales tax and the insurance isn't transferable. This makes me understand why JCPenney stock is less than 25 cents a share. They are headed down the same road as Sears. update: after speaking with the department manager, we got the sales tax refund. read more

I had my hair done by Isis today! She was super knowledgeable and friendly. I went in for a scalp treatment and style. She did a custom shampoo and scalp treatment, which I felt was above and beyond. I left with my scalp and tresses feeling super soft and amazing. I had a 20% off coupon for JCP salon that she honored as well. BEWARE!!!! Do not buy an appliance from JCPENNEY. I bought and paid for a $3,500.00 LG washer dryer online before Christmas. It was delivered by two men who weren't aware they were supposed to install it. They ordered a stacking kit and two other men delivered the wrong size stacking kit a week later saying they weren't aware they were supposed to install it. After three phone calls I got in touch with the Resolution department who cannot guarantee JCPENNEY will pick it up. Does anyone have any suggestions for me on how to resolve this? One of the last of the American Department Stores. They have a nice facility here at the Legends. Kind of have trouble getting help sometimes, even at Christmas shopping time. I spent some time ogling cookware and was helped by a woman working the cash register in this area. There were many sales and I think I got a good value. The cosmetics area was a train wreck. Two young wimmin trying desperately to handle a "throng" of people. I will continue to shop at Penney for certain items. read more

Worst hair cut ever.....had to completely redo my husbands buzz cut after we got home. Either their clippers were not sharp or their male stylist was incompetent because you could see how uneven it was from 10ft away. Again - it was a buzz cut. It should not have been that hard. This is a huge JC Penneys! The workers were helpful when I asked question but it was hard to find someone to ask. This place just seemed like it was slowly dying inside and the sad corporate morale was slowing leaking in. On the bright side, they had great sales! I did like the fact that they had a huge sign at front telling you where to pick up online orders. Most places don't do that and it was extremely helpful since this place is huge! read more

SHELIA!!!! That will be the name I always remember now when I go to this store. Avoid Shelia at all cost, rude, crass, disrespectful to elderly and seemingly racist. She will not show you any type of greetings for customer service. After years of going to this store, even taking gifts for the staff at their Sephora for their wonderful attentive service, I'm not sure if I want to go back. My home is less then 15 minutes from the store and I'm still considering driving and extra 15 to not see her ever again. The night manager Ann was very kind, patient and courteous. Going the extra mile to even try to help us set up the app. But even then the treatment my mom got from this woman was terrible. My mom held head down in shame for the more Shelia thought she couldn't understand English the more loud she spoke to her. The louder you speak doesn't mean they will understand your language more. And the quiet someone is doesn't mean they don't understand what your saying, it might mean they are embarrassed cause you are now yelling at them. WARNING avoid SHELIA!!! read more

My husband had his haircut at this location just the other day. It was literally the absolute worst haircut I've ever seen in my entire life. My husband typically just does a buzz cut at a level four on a clipper. We had to redo the haircut entirely because the guy who did it had strands and uneven spots all over his head. not sure who the stylist was, but I do know it was just bad. Unless you wanted to do the hairstyle twice, don't bother going here. read more

I had a great experience shopping. Ashlyn was very helpful assisting me find a necessary Cheif's shirt as she was passing by. I may have interrupted her break.
