The stylist I was scheduled with did not understand what I was asking for. Luckily for me Jennifer was there. She jumped right in and knew exactly what I was talking about and how to do it. A complete professional. She was patient with me and listened to exactly what I wanted with color. I get a very complicated color process involving at least two colors, maybe more called dimensional coloring. Jennifer did an AMAZING job. I couldnt ask for better in a big city. What I like about JCP: - Arriving early in the morning, when everything is unfettered, alive feeling. - When the staff greets you throughout the store with a (seemingly) heartfelt 'good morning;' like I'm VIP...or on a military base. - The sweet deals they have going, on the daily, from the kinks of it (please don't let it be because department stores are closing at an alarming rate!). I was given some money to pick out a gift and the task was one I felt a little prepared for, but he really made a much more confidant experience. He helped me make sure the earrings and necklace were paired beautifully. Then he rang us up. And repackaged them into one gift box which he wrapped up in a bag and tissue paper. What a great gift. I was totally disappointed in my experience with the salon. The girl that cut my hair totally did a chop job, my bangs are so short I can't do anything with them. It looks like she took a pair of scissors and just cut as crooked as she could. I told her a couple inches off and she chopped it above my shoulders. It didn't help she did not speak English well either. Will never go back! read more

Horrible customer service skills. I waited for someone to answer my phone call for 25 mins. Had to call someone in another department to speak to someone in home. Still didn't get ahold of anyone. Store directory gave me to a woman named Lynn who I'm assuming is some kind of manager. She was very rude and short with me. I felt like she was in a rush to get me off the phone because she kept cutting me off and interrupting me. So I basically waited 25 mins to be spoken to rudely. This is the 3rd time I've experienced their poor customer service. Will not be returning to this location. read more

**This review is about the salon.** I used to go to the JC Penny salon all the time for my hair. Recently, this place has gone downhill. After a debacle with my hair color last year, I never went back. I was forced to use them once again after a last minute function came up last Saturday because all the other reputable places in town had no openings. I made an appointment for a SIMPLE up-do. The stylist could barely speak English. After showing her pictures of what I wanted, things seemed to go smoothly. About 30 minutes later, she turns me around to show me the back and it was NOT at all what I asked for! I asked her to change it to what I wanted but the second time was just as bad! Finally, she took everything apart to start from scratch and by this point, I was already running late. She obviously had no idea how to do this up-do but did not say anything. I was very specific in my instructions and in my pictures but she just could not understand or complete the task. Eventually, I settled with her third try because it looked better than the other two times but it was still not what I asked for. The price for this was also outrageous! Over $50 for an up-do I was not happy with!! I could have done a better job on my own and saved myself the money and time. read more

I made a last minute appointment with Katie at the Salon. She was so pleasant on the phone and told me I could come right in. She was just as Sweet in Person too. Katie was one of the best Stylist I've had do my hair in my 64 years. Have to say, she knows how to cut hair. I've been to another Salon the beautician told me never come back as she hated my wavy hair. If I could give Katie a 10 Star rating I would have. I'll definitely will be back. read more

Extremely disappointed with the Yuma location. I've been using retail me not for quite some time now. That is until last weekend... I stopped by and picked up some items and the cashier straight up refused to use the app, I asked her to explain why, but all she would tell me was that it was not accepted. So I left, went home and ordered all the items from their website along with the code from retail me not with no issues. I will never set foot in that store again. read more

Staff is very helpful and friendly. The salesfloor is usually neat and eye catching. The clothing trends they carry almost never appeal to me at all. Size variety and quantities of products has been incredibly limited when I have visited. In my opinion, most things are overpriced. I only ever go into this store to go to Sephora. read more
