I will keep this simple and stick to the most recent points of interest for anyone considering using this company for their photography or videography needs. After negotiating an agreement for Paul to both record Video and Photograph an event in Washington DC, Paul dropped and broke his camera. He has held all photographs and video (it's been over a month now), demanding that we pay for his repairs. He sold packages at our event, and has with held these as well, deciding instead to attempt to illicit pressure from our clients to get us to pay for his carelessness in order to have what they have purchased released. Paul has threatened me for posting a negative review. However I do feel that people should be warned prior to using someone like this. There are so many quality photgraphers in the DMV that no one should have to subject themselves to someone who lacks integrity.

My wife and I searched high and low for a vendor to complement our photographer and capture our May 2007 wedding. We found expensive ones with a lot of unnecessary bells and whistles and then we found John Rose. Our first meeting was in a MD chain restaurant. He reminded me of a car salesman who was learning the ropes. He was nervous and he was just starting his own business. However he brought a mini dvd player and showed us a sample dvd of his past weddings. He offered more affordable packages and a greater sense of photojournalism. My wife and I shopped around and thought that the other vendors did not fit our budget or style. We took a gamble on our man. I enjoyed working with him before, during and after the ceremony and reception. I don't remember saying more than 4 words to him and his team the entire night; he and the equipment were incognito. He also worked well with our photographer (sometimes vendors can "fight" for better shots). Our final product, received within 2.5 months, is a work of art, from the DVD case design to the chapter menus and footage. It's like watching a movie (not just Uncle Bob's raw footage). Although he is located in MD and serves primarily MD, DC and VA, he is willing to travel for a nominal fee. I would be willing to answer questions (PM me) and vouch for him. We were also told by another couple that they "accidentally" received our wedding day itinerary from Valerie. Which was extremely unprofessional. I've shot boudoir with him a few times and I've always been super pleased with his work. His style is distinct and has been a great addition to my portfolio. My friends have also worked with him and we have all went back for more shoots, both photos and video. That says a lot about a photographer. I've never had to wait long for the proofs to come back, it was always done over a web call where several images were already edited and I chose the ones I liked. I submitted payment, and boom, all my photos were uploaded to my dropbox! Super efficient! On top of that, I've never once felt uncomfortable around him.
