The price is extremely affordable ($30 for a fill, $45 for a set), Ana is friendly and listens, and she is done quickly. She's also human, so I can see some misshapes here and there. The wait has been 5-15 minutes so not bad. Overall I paid $100 somewhere else and got the same quality but with longer wait times so I'm satisfied with JD nails! read more

I was hanging out with my mom, and decided that it was time to get some waxing done, as I've seen this place before. It's right next to the Safeway, and I finally had a chance to stop in and check the place out. Upon entering, I was warmly greeted by a lady named Tracy. She told me that she would be with me in just a few minutes. This salon is normal in a lot of different ways...They do nails, pedi's, mani's, waxing and a few other things as well. I was really happy to see that her prices were fair, and shes got a very clean looking shop. I plan on going here again, most likely for a Pedicure and a few other services, as she seems to have done quite a nice job. Good hours, great location, and they speak good english too! I'd gone there once before and had a pleasant experience. The second trip was anything but. My acrilyc nails were starting to lift so I asked them to be taken off completely and get a new set rather than backfill. They tried to convince me to just get backfill, but I've seen what gross stuff can happen to nails when you have a gap between the nail and acrylic that is big enough to let in debris but not big enough to clean. I don't want a fungal infection on my fingers. The person assigned to me then proceeded to cut my pinky nail (despite my stressing that I wanted to keep my natural nail length) and then try ripping the acrylic off dry, which ended up ripping a good layer of my natural nail. He then decided to soak my nails in acetone (which should have been done in the first place). After electric filing the acrylics off, I had to argue with a new person who kept saying I should get tips because my nails were thin, which was why I wanted to get acrylic overlay in the first place.. She made it clear she wasn't happy with my decision to keep my natural nail with lots of exasperated sighs, and commenting on the state of my nails. She then proceeded to go over my already damaged pinky with the electric drill before starting an overlay that ended up not only uneven and crooked, but shoring up against my cuticles instead of receding into them to imitate natural nails. I had also previously asked for a simple tip design due to nail designs being advertised, but the lady refused saying they had no nail tips on the color I had chosen (which should have been obvious that I didn't want due to not wanting fake tips to begin with). I explained I just wanted the tip painted with polish, like a French manicure, and she said she couldn't do the design. So I asked for a French tip with polish, and she agreed, but began doing very sloppily. So I gave in and just asked for the entire nail painted that color. This was also done sloppily, with my cuticles ending up stained, and some edges of my nails not covered at all, and wrinkles/brush strokes visible and looking wrinkled. I'm super disappointed. I'd come here because the staff was friendly the first time I came and it was close to my home. But I came away with damaged nail that still HURTS and a polish job I could have done better myself. Where do I begin! This was my second time coming here. The first time I didn't really feel like it was a good job I had a pedicure and I didn't love it. Poor paint job. Today I decided I'd give them another shot because I wanted to get a gel manicure. I showed up at 9:30, which is when they open, and nobody showed up for about 15 minutes. When the guy walked up he was alone. I had been standing there for these 15 minutes with another woman who is clearly a regular, and he told me he could help me after he did her nails (which were going to take 40 minutes). No one else was coming in?! Um, hell no! I am not going to sit there for almost an hour after you had he audacity to open shop late and by yourself. Positives: the people there (including the other patrons) are very friendly and make you feel at home. And it's one of the cheaper pedicures in the area. Negatives: It was a mediocre pedicure. The tech seemed afraid to touch me, resulting in a poor nail job and even limper massage. No buffing or scrubbing off dead skin, which is my main reason for the pedicure in the first place. I can certainly paint my nails at home. And why is it so many techs assault the shin bone during the massage, barely touching the very juicy and deserving muscles just lateral to it? The water was cold, and though I kept requesting warmer water, the tech didn't ask me how hot I wanted it, but just turned the hot water on and then off several times. It never made it past tepid. And, the polish didn't even cover the whole toe. Is that the new style? Ick. Very disappointing, in sum. I want a firmer hand, with a modicum of lower leg and foot massage training. I've never had a patch of my eyebrows waxed off, but I can proudly say that after almost 7 months of re-growing that heinous empty spot, I now have. Place isn't as clean as I like my nail salons to be and wait times are excessive as it seems like they are understaffed. Not that I expect nail salons to have a 'welcoming' environment since after all, we're Asian, but definitely not a place to come and bring family or friends. I've been coming to JD Nails for over 4 years and will continue to be loyal! Finding a good place is hard, but this is one of them. The prices are fair and the quality is consistent. At times I go to the place near my house for a quick pedi and regret it every time. Here, they take the time to really clean up the cuticles and don't rush through. They have clean stations, chairs, bathroom, sinks, etc. The pedicures last on my toes much longer than other places. The leg massages are on point too ;) My nails are always perfect and if not, they never complain about touch ups!! I also appreciate that if you call ahead, they honor you. Also, if you arrive and they are busy, they tell you honestly and schedule for the next day. Other places keep you waiting and keep saying "5 more minutes". Great place. Love you guys! Where do I even begin. The restroom was disgusting smelled like urine, out of toilet paper AND paper towels. Extremely slow and half ass pedicure. When I asked for paraffin I was told no it takes 2 hours to heat up (you would think they would handle that when opening the salon in the morning) and offered salt scrub instead, which I declined since it gives my sensitive skin a razor burn effect. NOT KID FRIENDLY. My 6 year old likes to get her toes done with mommy, and was yelled at for trying to turn on the massage chair "That not a toy!!" And after my toes were done I was moved to an uncomfortable chair to sit with a tiny little fan blowing cold air on my feet for 30 minutes!! I could go on but this pretty much covers the basics. I am normally a 20% tipper and for the first time I left no tip. We will most definitely not be back. As inexpensive as this place is I left feeling over charged and unsatisfied. I could have soaked my feet in cool water rubbed lotion on them and painted my toes at home for free and not felt unwelcome. read more

I'm new to Arizona so I've been looking for good places to go get a pedicure. I found this place on Yelp and read a good review so I decided to try it out. Upon entering I was greeted nicely by a woman working at the front and was directed to pick a color. The options for colors were slim but good. A really nice woman gave me my pedicure and was very gentle and thorough. She gave me the option to get a flower on my toes and showed me all the different options they had. Overall my pedicure was really good and with the flower design on two toes, my total came out to $23 ($18 without the flower design). One downfall was that it was freezing in there. I went in right when they opened so maybe the heat hadn't been turned on yet but it was soooo CHILLY inside making me freezing the entire time she was doing my pedicure. I would definitely go back but next time I hope their heat is working! read more

Please do not go to this nail shop they are very unprofessional and wishy washy I called at 5:37pm to make a appointment and was told no appointment I'm busy right now just come in in 15-20 mins. I then showed up exactly at 6:05 pm and was told that I needed to make a appointment and that they do not have time to do my nails. She proceeded to have a very bad attitude and her employee then filed my nail bed down and has permanently damaged my nail. I was very disappointed to find that after making a reservation, that the reservation was lost, my girlfriend and I didn't get to have our mails done at the same time. They actually took a walk in that came after us before my friend. They post their prices and then charge extra for removing the old nails without telling you this up front. My mother, aunt and I went to JD's the Saturday before Mothers Day as a M.D.'s outing. It was a horrible experience. Not only was the service bad but I was not happy about what my nails looked like when I left. The lady who did my mothers nails was trying to pressure her into getting something she didn't want so that she would spend more money. I don't know about you but I don't want to be pressured into spending money especially if I'm not receiving good service. A lady who was there was cut while getting her pedicure and started crying and the man who did it did not even apologize for doing it. The service was bad and the salon cleanliness was TERRIBLE as well. They didn't want to trade out for clean towels at their stations (had to ask) between clients. Things just look bad once you sit down and look around. This experience was NOT by NO means a good one!!! I will never go back and believe me I am telling everyone.
