Refused to come back other than some of the brush that they left. Instead of like I was in the wrong for catching them. They left a half cut tree in my yard. Tried heavy trimming but to no avail. They had to come down. I had many solicitors over the past two years, offering a wide range of solutions with a wide range of costs. Unfortunately, I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I happened upon Maguire's Family Tree Service through a glance at Facebook community page, along with several other tree services. I contacted all of them and they all responded, but when Joe (Maguire) came out, he offered me many options with solid costs for each option. He was down to earth and I liked his presentation. He doesn't have some of the large 'toys' that others have, but he has grit, determination and a good eye for the job. I researched for reviews and couldn't find much, but I still hired his company. His office staff (Felicia, the missus) is extremely competent and efficient. When Joe and Tod finished the job of several tricky tree removals, the work area was clean and the quality of work was on time and exactly what I wanted. They did a wonderfully professional job. Jim just completed an amazing restoration in our log cabin. After 50 years, we knew we had some…read morewall damage and some critters and Jim faced our challenges head on. He devised a plan to preserve as much of the original pine walls as possible and integrated the new pieces beautifully. He identified the root of the problem - leaks at the chimney - and he had it sealed and patched fast. We then made a surprise discovery - our old log beam mantle had rotted through. We had no idea how we would find a piece of wood that would match the cabin and Jim worked magic. In two hours he found a gorgeous salvage mantle replacement - amazing. I can't recommend them more highly thoughtful, hard working and collaborative. He solved all of our problems and we plan to work with him as our go to crew from now on.

The results were gorgeous and they took care to make sure the area (already spongy) would drain properly. Additionally, Scott's had helped us locate and purchase the trees we needed during challenging COVID times when trees were often hard to find. They provided excellent customer service from the time they scoped out the work through planting, and follow-up care. In addition to our tree project, Scott's did extensive weeding and clean-up in areas that had been neglected for 2 years. Their gardener is knowledgeable about planting and about plants themselves and easy to communicate with. He gave great advice--and worked like an expert "partner" with my elderly Mom who knows a bit about gardening but can no longer get out to do it. The landscapers doing the excavation and tree and shrubs planting and general heavy lifting were smart, knowledgeable, able, strong, adept, resourceful, careful, flexible, courteous and respectful. They were skillful with their equipment and went above and beyond after I'd mentioned my Dad who recently passed loved rocks and if they could add some of them on top of the soil to plant around we'd be grateful--I don't know how he did it but he used his rugged backhoe(?) to delicately pick up rock by rock from the massive piled of dirt and then--by hand--made nice rock arrangements. We are having them back to spruce up the yard and to create a strategy for my Mom's perennial garden in the areas where the trees are planted, and beyond. Professional, efficient, skilled, pleasant, and overall good company to work with.
