Don't get me wrong, it's a nice shop and the consultants here are wonderful! I can't remember my consultants name and that's not her fault. The store here sample sizes were all 8-10. This made it hard to try things on properly and a lot of the dresses I had to hold up against my body. I understand I have curves but does everybody else not? This made the appointment just crash after this. I can only imagine so much and I refuse to spend 1800 on a wedding dress by pure imagination. Sadly, this made my mood for wedding dress shopping go down after we left this place. Way to feel blah on something that is supposed to be fun and a lasting memory. She was very educated and knowledgeable in the dresses they carry. You can point at any dress and with a glance she can tell you the cost of it. I was very impressed. She was very patient with me throughout my whole experience. She MADE the overall experience amazing. What I liked most was not feeling pressured into purchasing any dresses right away or even purchasing a dress at that store. She was simply there to help me find the dress I wanted. Since writing my first review, I've been anxiously awaiting my wedding day so I could share an update about my experience at Jealous Bridesmaids between October 2014 (when I first started wedding dress shopping) and the big day in October 2015. Ok, I was also anxiously awaiting being married, but let's be honest - the dress was a HUGE part of the day for me, as it is for many other brides. After finding THE DRESS at Jealous Bridesmaids, I quickly made an appointment to order my gown (mid-November 2014). Even though my celebration entourage was very small (my family had travelled back to their respective homes by that point), they still made it as wonderful an experience as possible, complete with a champagne toast to celebrate. After some bubbly, the invoice was drawn up and Charmaine went over everything with me in detail to make sure I had no questions about this huge purchase. Be prepared to put down 50% of the entire cost of the dress up front, with the final 50% to be paid once the dress arrives (and before you move into alterations). After placing my order, time quickly sped by and before I knew it, I was getting a call that my dress had arrived (around May 2015). The first appointment back at the salon to try it on was so lovely. I was basically given free reign of a fitting room where I had plenty of space to prance around (check), admire myself in my gown (double check), and look at accessories (of course I did). And ladies, let me tell you, there is nothing quite like the feeling of putting on YOUR GOWN for the first time. I LOVED my dress when I tried on the sample, but I never considered how it would feel having a brand new, never worn version of it on my body. It was so magical, and I don't think I stopped smiling for the rest of the day. Over the next few months, I popped in to Jealous Bridesmaids a handful of times both to pick up my bridesmaid dresses for my girls, and for my three alterations appointments (spaced out between July and October 2015). Even though there were always other bridal parties and brides-to-be present in the salon, I always felt so special and looked after, as if I was the only customer who needed their attention. From remembering my name and greeting me upon arrival, to answering all my questions and easing my anxieties, the ladies at Jealous Bridesmaids were my wedding angels. I would recommend getting your alterations done on-site. Let's be dead serious - yes, alterations are expensive. Be ready for it. Consider it when you are creating your dress budget, because there is no point buying a beautiful but ill-fitting dress. And my dress (as amazing as it was) needed some work. The bust and waist had to be taken in, the hem had to come up a few inches, I wanted a bustle added, and I also requested a custom sash to replace the one that originally came with the dress. My total came out to about $600 once everything was tallied up. I admit to feeling a slight bit of sticker shock, but all of that melted away when I tried on that gown for the final time two weeks before my big day. This may not have been a couture gown, but it fit like it was made just for me. Just perfect. The final fitting was the most difficult, however, because it meant it was time to say goodbye. The team at Jealous Bridesmaids were such a big part of the overall process for me, and it bums me out that the product they specialize in is kind of a once-in-a-lifetime purchase. But even though it was bittersweet, I could not have been happier or felt more beautiful than I did on my wedding day. So if you find a dress that works for you, and you can get it from Jealous Bridesmaids - DO! I honestly could not have dreamed of having a better experience than I did. Watching all those wedding dress shows on TV can give you an unrealistic expectation about what the experience is going to be like, but the ladies at Jealous Bridesmaids do whatever they can to make the experience just as memorable, unique, and special as the bride who ends up wearing the gown. read more

Not only is the shop itself gorgeous, the dresses were amazing. I had a very short time to get a dress (less than 3 months) and these ladies made it easy. I wanted a very simple dress. "Find me the simplest dress you have" is what I told them. I got exactly what I was looking for, a sweet heart, tight to the thigh, lace all over gown. I also got a discount because I needed to purchase a sample (but it was a brand new sample!) so I lucked out. The dress looked amazing on the day and the seamstresses did a phenomenal job fitting it. The store even arranged to ship my dress via Fedex for me at no extra cost as I was getting married in California. Shop here ladies! read more

I was at the Jealous Bridesmaids yesterday afternoon. We only made the appointment last minute, I was surprised they got back to me right away to confirm the appointment, even though the store was already closed. It was already a great first impression. First thing when we arrived, we were asked to wipe our hands with a wet towelette, to get rid of any natural oil that might ruin the gowns as we browse through the store. It shows that they really take care of their gowns. My consultant ( whose name escape me now) was amazing. Super knowledgeable and friendly. Although I did not end up buying my dress there, we had a very good time, and didn't feel pressured to make a decision right away! I would definitely recommend trying this store !! They had so many gorgeous gowns, and the most attentive staffs :) read more

I shopped for bridesmaids dresses here in the winter of 2016. I was able to get all my bridesmaids together to shop for dresses. It was our first opportunity to look together and as I had heard good things about this store and it's in my neighbourhood, I decided it would be the first stop. When we arrived, we were made to wait in the front entrance area for over 10 minutes. Once they took us to the area where the bridesmaids dresses were, they provided almost no assistance. We looked through the racks ourselves and found some dresses which we liked. When we asked for the dress model numbers, the sales girl refused to give them to me. When our hour appointment was up, they rushed us out immediately despite there being no one after us. It took me three calls to the store to get the dress information and they didn't apologize for it at all. All of my bridesmaids ended up ordering one of the dresses we tried on that day but we opted to get it another store as we didn't want to support this establishment. read more

Lucy, my sales consultant, finally made me enjoy wedding dress shopping. From my experience at other stores, I have found that the consultant can really make or break the experience. Especially in a large store with so many dressing like JB, you need a patient, attentive and helpful consultant to help navigate the dense row of dresses. Lucy did just that and was also very interesting, personable and friendly! I showed Lucy a photo of the style I was envisioning for my dress and immediately she had two in mind. She also helped us choose a few more dresses to get of a sense of other styles I could unexpectedly like that could be suitable for my petite size. She was also great at pinning up each dress and walking me through how the dress could look post-alterations. For the top contender (the dress I may very well say YES to!) she got the seamstress to show me exactly how they could change the straps and train to fit my body. She also got the iPad to show me the model wearing the same dress. At other stores we visited, I felt the consultant merely pinned the dress up so it wouldn't fall down but made little effort to pin it so we could actually assess what it might look like post alterations. It was such a pleasure to finally feel confident and excited to walk out of the change room! Even if I do not ultimately say YES to this dress, I think every bride to be should visit JB. Rounded up from 1.5 stars; I wanted to enjoy the store, but it just fell flat. At the end of January 2017, I went to Jealous Bridesmaids for an appointment to look at wedding dresses. I went with my sister and 2 friends, who all agreed that it was not a good experience. We had just come from another bridal appointment that was head and shoulders above what we experienced at Jealous Bridesmaids. Maybe the dresses were not my style; I was looking for something not too poofy, straps, and for a day wedding. However, sadly I think the negative experience stemmed from the consultant. The consultant that helped me might have been new, but I ended up feeling pretty uncomfortable and awkward. I'll elaborate below, but overall I knew after the appointment I would not return. Some specifics (sorry, very long!): - At the other salon, the consultant took a bit of time to get to know me and what I was looking for. So when I was asked here, I started explaining how I was not into really big dresses, the event was in the day, etc. I got cut off and we went straight into pulling dresses after a quick rundown of how the store was organized. No biggie, but it played out later when the suggested dresses were totally not what I was looking for. - The first dress I tried on was a sample from off the sale rack. I was really liking it but then the consultant said it wasn't good enough and that it wasn't doing anything for my body. Not the most positive note to start on when I really liked the dress, but that's okay. - I was asked multiple times to rate the dresses from 1-10 as soon as I saw them on. I said I really didn't want to do that but the consultant kept pushing until I blurted out an arbitrary number. She would then emphasize that I MUSTN'T accept anything less than a resounding 10. Yet, I am not the kind of person who needs to find the most "perfect" dress and I made that pretty clear (I need to work with my budget too! Which was $1200 by the way). - I am not a reactive person and a dress would never make me cry or freak out even if I loved it 100%. My friends agreed that the consultant seemed a bit frustrated that my reactions weren't bigger. I was made to feel like I was being difficult... but I am laid back! There were a couple dresses I liked but she sort of dismissed them when my face wasn't lighting up the way she expected. I'm not the most traditional, fun, or emotional bride, but I am still someone looking for a wedding dress! - NOTHING zipped up. I am a street size 6-8 so perhaps the samples were too small, but the consultant did not even attempt to zip anything and kept clipping the dresses to my bra. Not sure if this is normal; at the store I had just been to every single dress zipped up and fit surprisingly well. - Again, I wanted a relatively simple dress with straps for my daytime (brunch) wedding. Still, she pulled many blingy gowns that were very fitted or very poofy. She kept saying it was better for my body... honestly with this and nothing zipping up I started feeling a bit self-conscious. - I got the impression she was pulling gowns she really liked, without realizing they were not for me. I was a good sport and tried everything on, including a dress that had translucent side panels and a lot of boning throughout the bodice. Wow, I mean it's someone's dress, but definitely not mine. So maybe come here if you are smaller, have a bigger budget, and want a bigger, glitzier gown. There is nothing wrong with any of those things, it was just not for me and I found the service was uncomfortable. read more

Jo who helped me out my first appointment was so attentive and her ability to get you into a dress is unbelievable. Never did I feel like I wasn't a model size or that there wasn't something at the store for me. Go in with an open mind and remember to go in without a huge entourage. If I could give this place 6 stars, I really would. I've been to my fair share of wedding gown places, when I was finding my own, and also being a bridesmaid. This place, their consultants (especially Lidia) really goes above and beyond to give you the best experience bridal dress shopping. They make you feel special and unpressured. They know that this is an important decision! They recently moved to a new larger location. Compared to the old location it is much larger with a lot more room to try on dresses and have your privacy. the look is more modern like a warehouse, but super cool. They now have an in house seamstress (previously had to visit their seamstress in her home which wasn't the best experience) we also got my bridesmaids their dresses here (they offer a 10% discount). Overall, great selection of dresses (Pronovias, Maggie Sottero, Casablanca, Essense of Australia) , reasonably priced ranging $1000-2500. GREAT consultants, they make you feel special, including champagne toast! More importantly to give you honest opinions and never ever rush you. In fact Lidia has stayed late after the store closed one time just to be sure I had time to try on a few more dresses. I went recently for my dress trial, to pair it with accessories. I do wish they had more necklaces, bracelets and overall more accessories! Would recommend any bride-to-be to check this place out. read more

I've been here a number of times and have always received exceptional service. Easy bookings, prompt and on time appointments, friendly attentive consultants who were patient and listened and observed to make mindful suggestions. Expectations were set the whole way. When my dress came in a few weeks late I was emailed to be reassured and kept in the loop. Very professional. I really couldn't ask for anything more and would recommend this place to others! In fact I've already referred 2 of my girlfriends. Not so much for bridesmaids dresses though, their selection seemed lack luster. This review is based after two visits: one for bridal and one for bridesmaids. Purely on my own experiences. Pros: huge, clean space and wide selection of chiffon bridesmaids dresses. If you are just starting to look for bridesmaids dresses, there are lots of different styles (especially Dessy) and lots of colors to choose from. Pros: Easy to book a consultation, slippers to use and water available. Cons: unattentive staff. After my bridal consultation, I remember the associate helping me with the dresses kept talking to another girl sitting at a desk. There were times when I had to call her over to help me "clip" into the dress. I feel like the staff should have their undivided attention to you especially when considering a $1500+ purchase. Cons: not prepared. When I booked my bridesmaid consultation, I emailed the store to confirm the style of dress (wrap dress) I was interested in. They confirmed they do carry the style but what really turned me off was that the girl helping us was really unprepared. She had to refer to binders for color palettes, referred to diagrams on how to wrap the dresses and seemed not informed with answering any of my inquiries. I recalled her asking other associates. Cons: not helpful. There were times where I didn't know where our associate went. I had to use the clips myself on my bridesmaids trying on dresses and they were zipping in themselves. I understand it might be just be bridesmaid dress but my friends even commented that the experience didn't sell them on coming back when they get engaged. Cons: I've noticed that a lot of the bridal dresses might be a bit dated or they are just dirty. Maybe they were some of the dresses I tried on, but I don't think they were well maintained for fitting purposes. These are just my opinions compared to other experiences I've had at other bridal boutiques. Store: The store is quite large and I accidentally brought 6 people with me as well, but they had a nice room that accommodated everyone. Even though it is in the basement, it was really roomy and bright. Selection: After I told the staff my budget she guided me to a section of the gallery. My budget was between 1500 to 2000 and there were quite a few racks of dresses between that price. Further, there were also 2 racks of dresses that were being sold as is. Staff: After I tried on a few dresses, they sort of became a blur, and I wished that I had a little bit more guidance from the staff. Overall: If you are unsure what you like or don't like yet, I think this is the store for you to initially visit. There is a huge selection and variety of gowns. If you don't know if you want something more revealing, cute, elegant, etc, then you should look into this store. They also have a lot of brand name designers like Maggie Sottero as well. read more

Outstanding!!!!!! I bought my dress here today :) Lydia was sent from heaven and my dream dress is simply perfection and reasonably priced. They have a veil room and a BLING room to top it all off! A fabulous experience complete with champagne! Even if you don't find your dress, this is the place to shop. You will not regret it! Ask for Lydia she is wonderful. Jealous Bridesmaid is located on Bloor Street West, on the basement level. Staff are very accommodating and helpful. I was honored by my future daughter-in-law to participate in a day of bridal shopping. It was fun watching her try wedding dresses, and having staff that made the experience all the more special. The salon is located in a spacious basement level room which houses many beautiful dresses from various designers to choose from. When we arrived we were greeted, asked to take our shoes off and clean our hands with wipes. I had no problem with this except when I realized the floors were of cold cement and we had to walk bare foot, would have been a nicer experience if there was carpeting to walk on. I purchased my wedding dress from Jealous Bridesmaids. Lucy who attended me during my appointment was a sweetheart, and the whole experience up until I purchased the dress was great. This store is definitely worth a visit during your dress search. When my dress arrived and I made an appointment to try it on, I wasn't pleased with the experience. My appointment was only 30 minutes, and I was taken to the alterations area rather than the typical showroom. I guess they had a lot of clients that day, but I suggest they don't overbook and keep the showroom available. It's been months since I had seen my dress and you want to see it in the best light possible!!! I also was not given the time to try on any of their accessories, I did bring some of my own, but it would have been nice to be able to go into their accessories room - I definitely felt rushed. Lastly, their alterations is extremely expensive compared to other rates out there. We were looking for my sister's wedding dress. Our consultant was fantastic. She listened to what style my sister wanted and respected her budget. We pulled a lot of dresses and they were all a sample size someone size 14 could try no problem! The consultant helped my sister with her dresses and made sure it looked perfect before showing us. My sister had seen a dress that she liked when we first walked in. It was over budget. The consultant was hesistsnt to put it on her due to the budget. We convinced her to try it and that ended up being my sisters dress! One thing that stuck with me is that the consultant, who is also the manager I believe, said she didn't care about the sale. She wanted my sister to find her wedding dress. Even if she went back home to BC and ordered it there. read more

I had a great experience. The gowns are at an affordable price (I believe $1500-2000) and they have a wide range of styles. Lots of Maggie Sottero gowns if you like that designer. The salesperson was very kind and patient. The only thing that made it less than perfect is that the change areas are just curtained off in the corners of the store. I bought my wedding dress here and I'm so glad I did!!! It really was stunning and made me feel so incredibly beautiful on my special day. The dress I got was from their off the rack collection and was tailored to my size. I'm petite and my gown needed a lot of work. They took the time and effort to ensure I was completely satisfied with the end result. The staff here are so patient and understanding even when I was overly emotional during the process (as so many brides are when getting their dresses). I visited Jealous Bridesmaids both as a bride-to-be and as a MOH with my best friend and both times had wonderful experiences. I didn't end up buying my wedding dress here (although I came close) however my best friend did, and I would highly recommend any bride-to-be to check out Jealous Bridesmaids. They have a great selection of all kinds of dresses (ball gowns, trumpets, more modern dresses and a full couture section) and carry a lot of great brands. Their prices are completely reasonable and they also have a really good selection of bridesmaids dresses. I wish I knew the name of the attendant that I had for my appointment as she is a total rockstar. Not only was she super patient with me when I could not make up my mind, and not pushy AT ALL.... she was actually super nice and made me feel really comfortable and beautiful in every dress I tried on. We also had her for my friends appointment and she was the exact same way. Overall, staff is lovely, selection is great, and they are located close to a subway station. My gfs wedding was on April 7th, the remaining dresses came in last week of March, leaving us with just over a week to get them altered. The manager was unsympathetic, refused to give us a discount for the delay and acted like it was perfectly okay to receive dresses a week before the wedding. I can't tell you how much I love this store!!! As another reviewer said, if I could give this place 6 stars I would. Two of my bridesmaids and I met with Joanna a few weeks ago to try on dresses and from the moment we entered we were very happy with how friendly both she and the other sales associates were. I felt like the service was very personalized compared to the other places I went to. Joanna took the time to know about what I like and didn't like, got to know my friends and asked about my fiancé. Overall she was amazing to work with. There is a large selection of dresses to choose from, and many that I tried on were in the $1300-2000 range. Lots of Maggie Sottero and Essence of Australia dresses, and JB also has Pronovias dresses - I read somewhere that apparently finding stores that carry Pronovias can be difficult. I'm not sure if that's true or not but if you like that designer I would highly recommend you come here to get your dress! I ended up loving a Maggie Sottero dress that was a little over my price range, but Joanna was kind enough to sell the dress tax free so with alterations it would cost about the same amount I was looking to spend :D I ended up buying the dress today after going with my dad to show him the dress and trying it on with some of my accessories, and again it was such a pleasure to go to JB. First, the good. - lovely space - great selection - well merchandised - we ended up with exactly the colour of bridesmaids dresses we were looking for - the dresses arrived earlier than expected Now, the reasons for the low rating. - the service. While the staff is friendly at the front desk and in the fitting areas in general, the salesperson we dealt with did not demonstrate any sales training or customer service skills. Maybe it was her first day? We'd made an appointment to try on our dresses to have them altered. Somehow though, it was just an appointment to try them on. Okay, fine, maybe there was a miscommunication when my friend booked us in. But as we were standing there in our ill-fitting dresses and learned that we were expected to come back for a separate appointment to have them altered, the salesperson offered no solutions or suggestions. When we asked, "can we have them altered today since we are already here?" she told us to ask at the front because that's where they make the appointments. Maybe I'm crazy, but I'm standing here in a $300 bridesmaids dress so I kinda expected that you, as the salesperson, might take the initiative to follow up for us. Nope. So when we asked, "could *you* check if we can be seen today?" she seemed quite surprised by this concept, but went to check nonetheless. In the end, since there were no openings to see the seamstress, we paid for our dresses and took them elsewhere to be altered. We were prepared to spend what are likely inflated rates to have them altered at the shop for the sake of convenience. I see this as a missed opportunity for Jealous Bridesmaids to get our additional business. Instead that business went to Studio Kim, a shop in King West that I've used for ages and would highly recommend. Kim is professional, reliable and highly customer service oriented. And in the end, I'll end up with a perfectly tailored dress. read more

I have had nothing but great experiences at this shop. In the end, I did not get a dress from there because I changed my wedding plans but could not have a higher recommendation for them. I worked with the manager Lidia, who was so very patient with me and never pressured me with any of the dresses. She also did not make me feel rushed and helped me focus on what I liked or didn't like about a dress. This can be a very overwhelming experience for some people (like me) and it was nice to have someone so supportive. She sincerely wants the best for you and your wedding day even if you don't find a dress at the store. As for the store itself, it is very clean and well-maintained, there are a ton of great dresses and brands in all styles imaginable. I had the best experience at Jealous Bridesmaids. After going to Kleinfeld's in the Bay which had dirty dresses and several other bridal shops that left us feeling not so great about bridal dresses shopping in Toronto, we were SO relieved to be at Jealous Bridesmaids. A friend of mine had been there previously to get bridesmaids dresses and had had a good experience. Our first appointment was with Joanna. She was so down to earth and friendly, and picked beautiful dresses for me to try on. Both myself, my mother and my mother-in-law were impressed with how helpful she was, as well as how friendly everyone at Jealous Bridesmaids was. When we bought the dress, they gave us champagne which was so nice. Each fitting went really well. Their seamstress is great at what she does. Overall, from the first appointment to the day we picked up the dress, the experience was flawless and I'd highly recommend to any bride to check out Jealous Bridesmaids. read more

Terrible experience. Ordered a $450 from here and was told it would be coming in longer length if I paid the $50 extra. I was shocked to receive a too short dress with a bag of extra fabric for me to have added on. When I contacted the manager and owner I was told that I was made aware of this as it was on the tag (the dress had to be ordered in and I was never advised to read the tag of the sample dress) and the owner insisted that the consultant advised of this at our appointment. There were 5 members of our bridal party present and not once did anyone hear the consultant communicate "hey, this is extra fabric that you are ordering, not a longer dress". Furthermore, for the owner to argue about a conversation taking place that she was not present for is distasteful and disgusting. She also stated that "it is the bride's fault for not communicating this to you, not Jealous Bridesmaids". Charmaine and her staff need training on customer service and how to keep business. Not once was there an apology, the owner and manager both acknowledged that the invoice stated extra length on it but could not compute why "length" was used when nothing was lengthened. When I asked that they perform the alterations free of charge, I was told no that they would only take $25 off. This place charges champagne prices but offers bootleg beer service. read more
