i rated 3 stars because i was taken to be seen quickly, the receptionist was helpful and the nurses were sweet to me. i will not rate 5 stars because this er visit was the worst medical treatment experience i've ever had. this was my experience with dr. adam kandil. i have a congenital heart defect, diagnosed with numerous tests detailing exactly what my issue is. i need surgery for my issue and was told to go to the er if i was having intense pain in the meantime. i did as i was told, visited the er at 3:00 am when the pain was too much to bear one night. i want to mention that the rn that looked after me, willa, was very kind and patient. historically, beta blockers helped me with my chest pain, i didn't need pain killers or anything addictive substances. but during my 5 hour er stay, the doctor prescribed me stomach medicine over and over again through my iv. i asked if i can have a beta blocker and the rn relayed to me that the doctor doesn't want to because it's for high blood pressure. i understand that dr. adam kandil is an emergency medicine specialist and not a cardiologist, but surely even he knows beta blockers are a common aid for heart issues? after the 3rd round of anti acids, i decided i would say i'm fine and go home. they asked if i wanted a pain killer prescription and i said okay. i left the er and dr. adam kandil did not talk to me even once face to face. there were about 3 patients at the er total at 3:00 am and somehow i was still unable to see the doctor even once. the worst part is when i went to cvs to pick up the painkiller prescription i was given, the label on the package read that it was anti gas medicine. i've been seeing a cardiologist since middle school and i'm 24 now. i have mountains of medical documentation of my heart problem. to dr. adam kandil though, i was just a very gassy patient, i guess. fyi, i rarely have stomach problems, including indigestion and acid reflux. it's okay to be unfamiliar with a medication issue, but at least try to see and talk to your patient face to face to try and understand the problem. i'm not one to whine and complain, i know medical staff are overworked and underpaid. but even at the busiest of places, i was treated with more dignity than jefferson's emergency room doctor. this was such a terrible experience that i would rather experience cardiac arrest than be under dr. adam kandil's "care" ever again. edit: unrelated to this incident, i went to this er once before for having serious suicidal thoughts due to my demanding job at the time. they took a urine sample, put me in a gown and had me wait on a bed for a long time until someone came in and told me they had no behavioral health staff in the building that day. i was sent home with a hefty bill for care i didn't receive. could have saved me a lot of money and time if i was informed before intake that there was no one who could actually see me. communication within this hospital must be in a dire state or they purposely kept me there for free money. i don't know which one is worse. read more

i went to the this er 5am yesterday and didn't get seen until 6ish . let's just say once I got called i was put in the hall way. no one asked if I needed anything . one of the housekeepers were nice enough to give me a blanket . I was in so much pain and couldn't hear from an ear infection Which I knew it was an ear infection.The doctor told me I didn't have an ear infection that my ear drum was red. She gave me steriods, antibiotics and Motrin and sent me out of my way. She told me she was going to write me a script and never did . i went to cooper urgent care today and the dr told me she couldn't see my ear drum due to build up wax & flushed my ear out just to find out that I do in fact have an ear infection. It is very sad when One finds it necessary to publicly post that New Jersey probably ranks the lowest when it comes to mental healthcare The question I ask myself often. What's education level of these people? What background do they have it just hired because of a certificate whatever happened to personality why shouldn't worms and empathy come through instead of just hiring someone who wants a paycheck I have heard on some of the groups around here for families of children who have addiction mental health and every single person says the place to not call is the crisis center because if your day is bad, they will make it worse and they will make it hopeless I can truly support that I called tonight. Spoke to this young lady gruff nasty disrespectful when I tried to tell her something no no no no no I want to know what happened today and as soon as I said no, what happened I said you don't get to talk to anyone like this she kept snapping and barking with me to demand to tell her what happened to today and wouldn't let me tell her what happened yesterday and she kept raising her voice with me and I think to myself God help a person who walks in there, suffering man to help this person will push them off the ledge There can be no place in mental health to ever have someone like this to interact with family members or for the patient who suffering mental mental health crisis. She's barbaric she's rude. She has no empathy whatsoever she's cold. She's unprofessional and I could go on and on and on, but I'm second that this facility would need to read this review to have noticed that this young lady should not be in this job what is wrong with making it a priority to hire people who have built-in skills of being empathetic of being present or being understanding or compassionate she has none of those qualities I ended up hanging up the phone on her. I couldn't take it anymore. Not tomorrow I'm going to go and post on all the different groups. Do not call the Cherry Hill crisis center and that's a sad thing because you know something look at how many vulnerable families you have in this county that now will not be calling this number where else to return For Help but at this point, not calling them is better than the option of calling them because you leave their hopeless de humiliate you you're so grossly disrespectful. I have never met more mean spirited people than I have in this facility. The only person I ever talked to there that was respectful. His name was Ted other than that I do not know where they get these people from to work in the Christ center. I see on my groups. People would say the worst mistake I made. I took my daughter to the crisis center after 5 my daughter wanted to leave and I hear over and over or they're rude cold, and insensitive. They have a nasty attitude to talk to you. no one smiles, no one songs empathetic it's an absolute fact, the sooner the shutter spray song I think meant healthcare would improve People are set with expectations and if the coldest place they'll get some support, don't ever think of getting it you will never get it never it's just not there and whoever's in leadership. The Bee these people reflect the standards that leadership sets for the rest of them because they must feel bold to be as rude and nasty and compassionate as they are. I wonder how many people called this place and ended up committing suicide. I would not be surprised at the numbers are up there. This is a shame it's a travesty. It's cruel just creates Mental Health Way beyond anyone calling there What would make you have a nasty personality and tell people to shut up and cut them off to talk and then you're supposed to take your loved ones there expecting that you're going to get mental health support you have to be out of your mind I'd rather take them to veterinarian into this place and I'm going to make this louder and louder and wider and wider for people to understand sometime they need to demand that this place be shut down or on the new management the final word it is a horrific place most insensitive you can call an animal shelter and you get people, a lot more sensitive than these people are and it's not just a One occasionally dear systemically consistently, rude, and nasty send these people are What is savagely missing in this place? Is that family member for calling in there are hurting for a loved one to mental illness but these barbarians treat you like you've committed a crime talk. Don't you shut you off when I think back of this woman today she deserved every insult that crossed my mind, but I was not going to come to her lower level no no no no no no what. From the ER through inpatient, there was not a moment that I could complain about the level of care that went into the treatment that I received. The teams were organized and efficient, even over the holiday week and snow storm, they were all locked in on my care and kept me, and my support team, fully in the know. read more

More care by nursing staff. Mr. Spisak was a patient at the Cherry Hill location from October 16-24. He was sent home with severe bed sores that were unstageable and eventually killed him. The nursing staff never turned him or attempted to get him out of bed. "He's too heavy (he weighed 145 lbs),and uncooperative. Mr. Spisak never refused any type of recommendations or help. One month later he went to Virtua hospital where they tried to reverse the damage from the bed sores. He was also treated aggressively at home to keep the infections from becoming more impactful. Mr. Spisak died on December 17 as a direct result of the bed sores I would rate this 0 stars if I had the choice read more

My husband had a work place accident, and the way we were treated leads me to believe the doctor was racist. I have never been so rudely adressed to my face, and even after I overheard him speaking about us to one of the nurses. I couldn't believe it and asked for his information to leave a complaint as we were being dismissed, and our nurse lied to my face and said she didn't know the doctor's name. Didn't know? That's all I needed to know. This is the worst hospital in the area, and I can vouch that the 'help' they gave my husband took 3 weeks longer to heal than it should have. Dr. Nishant Reddy and his staff are amazing. My husband had nasal surgery on 12/4 and his nurse Jamie and Santa Steve were amazing, caring and attentive. I call Steve Santa Steve because he has a beard. All jokes aside, All were professional and excellent at their jobs. Jamie was patient caring and gave great detailed post op instructions, we had great conversation as well as as professional care. The hospital was decorated very nicely for Christmas which made it so warm and welcoming and I love the Starbucks and gift shop! read more

The Type Of Care Was Fantastic, The Quality Of Care. The Office Experience Was Superb.

I was admitted for a bad foot infection and received excellent care. Dr Watson and his team took very good care of me during my hospital stay. I needed a bone biopsy and bandage changes every day and they were always there first thing in the morning. I needed IV antibiotics for which the nurses were vigilant in changing the bags from the finished one to the new one. The nurses checked in on me also to make sure everything was okay. Before being discharge I needed a pic line to be inserted at bedside so I could get IV antibiotics at home. The ultrasound team that did the procedure was professional and extremely experienced and I had very little pain during the procedure. My room was large, beautiful and very clean. Housekeeping was in every day washing the floor and removing the trash. I couldn't have asked for a better hospital experience although I hope I won't need to come back. If I do need another hospitalization I'll come back to the Jefferson Hospital Cherry Hill. read more

Christmas holidays will never be as exciting as the time I ended up in the ER in 2019 and finding out I needed emergency gall bladder surgery. Woo hoo! I was in very good hands the whole time I was here. The nurses who took great care of me for the 2 nights I stayed were nothing but kind, careful, kind and helpful. Whatever I needed, they were there to figure out how they could help me. One of my ER doctors looked like Ben Affleck. Hehehe. My surgeon and anesthesiologist were caring, told me everything that was going on and came to see me post op. This is the second time in my life that I ended up in the ER here, and always will be grateful for their care of me. read more

Office staff at 1am were rude and sullen. When I asked about another patient in the wating room who had a blanket over his head and was "moaning and groaning" loudly the gal at the front desk told me to "mind my own business." When I told her it was not a HIPPA violation to report this to them, a big "security dude" came out of his office and said "Go sit down." When I tried to tell him WHY I was concerned, all he would say s "Go sit down... Go sit down... Go sit down." There was a baby seated in front of us "going off" like a loud car alarm every second for the better part of an hour ("wah! wah! wah!). And we still hadn't been triaged yet! Two hours after that, we were told they "still didn't have a bed for my wife." We had arrived at 1am and it was now 4am with no end in sight. We were finally disgusted and left to find a "real hospital ER." read more

Not really much to say...providers at this hospital violate ethics. They treat mental health like it's not even something to consider. They jump to protecting themselves first, before patient. I watched how they treated an undiagnosed dementia patient. They have no passion in their jobs there anymore, it's all a horse and pony show. Sad the lack of quality providers out there and Jefferson just takes them in and let them continue doing it.....unfortunately, when someone does is when the hospital will finally be help responsible. Don't trust Melanie Angelo. I sent an email to almost every new station email address I could find in the Greater Philadelphia area. If anyone else was removed by security for NON AGGRESSIVELY advocating for a patients health do the following: - Call the NJ Department of Health Complaint Hotline and make a complaint: 800-792-9770 - Call the NJ Office of Attorney Generals Office - Board of Medical Examiners 609- 826-7100 and ask to file a complaint with them regarding the provider who removed you or in any other way violated your rights as an advocate or patient. They will tell you that you can email them the complaint, submit it online, or they will mail you the forms. The email is: BMECOMPLAINT@dca.njoag.gov -Then call the hospital and ask to speak to Patient Relations and file a FORMAL COMPLAINT, saying those words are important because the hospital will avoid one at all costs, or simply ignore you. Then EMAIL the hospital at the email address they provided me graciously in their response so each time you call them, you can send a follow up email as well. Document ALL communications and record ALL phone calls. -Reach out to an attorney for further guidance. -Lastly, go here: https://philly.zoa.org/join-zoa-philly/contacting-the-media/ to find email addresses to news outlets in our area and send a MASS email to ALL that you can. Disgusting experience in the ER. I got there at 7am and by dumb luck, no one else was there. So far so good. Well then comes the IV. I know I'm a hard stick but it took 20 min for it to go in and get blood. It felt like a knife kept stabbing me. Ok got in. Cool. I get teathered with the IV. I need to use to restroom and not to just urinate. I ring the call bell. 45 min later in this chaotic zoo I had to scream for help. What if I was choking or felt I was having a heart attack. I get unteathered. The arrogant lump of garbage docs said to me the following : We have sick people here. Ummm hello. I'm in the ER and also sick or I wouldn't be here. And We are understaffed. Oh ok all I hear are nurses and doctors laughing. Also, not my problem. My job is understaffed too. I never ever would speak with anyone that way. So I told the two docs to go to he11 after one told me to go back to my room while I was waiting to use the bathroom like I'm a child. I guess these docs are used to everyone kissing their behinds. Well apparently these snowflake docs can't handle an upset, neglected patient. The dr called the security guard on me. I was only in front of her for a minute. I did not threaten or touch anyone. Back at my room where I went after doing my business, the security guard said they're going to press charges on me. I said ok what for and I will get a malpractice law suit against them for neglecting a patient. Because he knew that you can't have charges against you for telling off a doctor, he walked away. I have been here before. I never once did not get along with everyone I encountered. This time was downright disgusting. I kept saying I wanted to leave but felt forced to stay "you can't leave your room is nearly done." "It will be AMA and your insurance won't pay." I got sent up to the wing that is the only wing that isn't new. Looks like something out of the 60s. The docs and nurses on 300 old as heck building were extremely caring and nice. I'm still here waiting for a hospital rep to discuss my experience. I'm giving two stars just because of the few nice staff here and the food isn't bad. The best part of the ER and only good part was a resident, Dr Christopher. I can't recall his name but they should all strive to be like him. read more

I have to leave one star, but I don't want to. The experience my loved one just had in crisis on Monday was disgusting. The behavioral health worker has absolutely no right working in that important field. Her lack of empathy, compassion and listening single-handedly pushed my loved one further into crisis, worse off than what brought us there and we almost lost her. All, as a result of her disgusting and shameful behavior. I am filing formal complaints with the hospital and state. Nobody wants to visit an ER. But things are on a rapid pace when the ambulance arrives and many people take for granted that E.R.s are all the same - WRONG!! It is hard to receive a ONE STAR and this place beats them all. Arrived at the ER at 11:00 a.m. At 20:40 I finally got out of there. The pain in my stomach was ungodly. They are amazing at "Passing the buck".They didn't move me out of the gurney the entire time. I asked someone who wore a "The Jefferson Nurse" on the back of her uniform if she couldn't give me relief for the pain. She says "After I see the Doctor a nurse can assist me" Good luck with that. I didn't see a Dr. until 18:30. 71/2 hours after I arrived. Then I am assigned a Doctor and she is about as friendly as the rest of this place and disappears for another hour and a half. Finally I track her down and now she says "She can't discharge me". After It is around this time I became "a little" boistereous and demanded My clothing. My nurse Kimberly brought me the clothing and I don't want to bury her name with all the others, she was very good! The bathrooms were filthy. One had a rubber glove and toilet paper on the floor the entire time and this is HOSPITAL. They may have changed their name to Jefferson, but they are still Penn to me. read more

This is a review about Jefferson University Hospital in Cherry Hill NJ. We came in here last night to the ER for our little boy who was vomiting for 4 days in a row due to food poisoning. We were checked in by a very friendly staff (front desk receptionist and a security guard) who without wasting any time took our info and issued my husband and I the guest passes. Minutes later we were called into the room by a very professional and compassionate and knowledgeable male nurse named Aaron Gomez who immediately started running different tests and assessing the situation, he started the treatment for my child and called in 2 very nice doctors, one of them named Dr. Bhatnagar, a pleasant young lady, and her colleague doctor, a true gentleman. Very professional team they all were, along with another nurse named Brielle who helped with our child's IV. I couldn't be happier and expect better results. The whole entire staff is very professional and kind. They were all constantly informing us on our son's situation and took their time helping him without any effort or a single complication. We left the hospital about 4 hours later very pleased with great results. PS, we are visiting NJ from LA and this is the first hospital we looked up close to where we are staying and we are so glad that this is the spot that turned up in our map app. I would have given this place 10 stars if I could. Arrived at the ED and was checked in at 915am. I was triaged and sent back to a room by 930. Had seen a doctor and had all appropriate labs and tests ordered and completed within an hour. Received medications and appropriate treatment while waiting for lab results. I was checked out and on my way home by noon with the answers I needed. Staff were efficient, friendly, informative, professional. I did come at a slower than usual time, but I would definitely revisit again if needed. My father was admitted for about 6 days in this hospital. One night my father was not given his dinner because the nurse forgot to get it...when he asked the other nurse who came for the next shift, the cafe was closed and he didn't get any food that night. He doesn't speak English well so I'm guessing the nurses didn't bother trying to assist him. He was incredibly uncomfortable and ended up leaving the hospital regardless that he still was suffering from a low blood oxygen level...I picked my father up and he came out with the oxygen tank. What makes it worse is that he had an infection along with his other ailment that his doctors chose not to mention to either me or my brother. Again since my father's English is not well, the doctor called us every day to inform us of his well being but neglected to tell us about the infection. I found out only because my father's primary care doctor told me as she had the records. If I can't add more insult to injury...well, the hospital has continuously left messages for me to return his oxygen tank. I'm annoyed that this is what they chose to constantly be contacting me about...yet did not tell me about his infection and the poor care he was getting while there. Do yourself a solid and do not come here!!! If you must go to Jefferson, go to the one in center city Philadelphia...it's definitely worth the trip!!! read more

I had a wonderful experience at this hospital. We recently moved to NJ from Chicago. My daughter fell and we suspected she had broken her arm. Despite being between health insurances, I took her to this E.R. Not only were all of the doctors and nurses incredibly kind and helpful, but they did everything right there at the hospital. She did break the arm and they X-rayed, set, and casted it all in one spot. We had a horrible experience in our last state when she broke her other arm at gymnastics. Not only was she still traumatized from that experience, but I was as well. This experience at Jefferson Hospital was night and day to that experience. They made sure she didn't feel or remember a thing when they set her bones. They explained everything they were doing and let me stay nearby. Afterwards, they kept her a little while for observation. The front desk clerk was also very kind. When I explained we were between health insurance due to the move, they sent me a representative to enroll her in temporary medicaid. The anesthesiologist was wonderful! The bone doctor was wonderful! Even the gentleman who walked her wheelchair all the way to my car while her meds wore off was wonderful! This was such a pleasant experience. Thank you for making this move a little easier. read more

In light of everything that is going on, I would like to share my experience at this facility. This was 2 years ago, the first ER visit of my life, and what would turn into multiple ER visits and doctors appointments. I had my boyfriend drive me here because I woke up from a late afternoon nap barely able to think straight, talk, or walk on my own and rashes/sores worsening across my body. The waiting room wasn't crowded but I was seen after a half hour of waiting. I could barely relay what I was going through so my boyfriend had to speak for me. Instead of running a single test, the ER doctor asked me repeatedly if I was on drugs. After the fifth time of him asking and me responding with no, he prescribed antibiotics and sent me on my way. I repeat, he did not order a single test or swab for an infection. All he did for a black woman in the ER looking for help was ask if I was on drugs then shooed me away with antibiotics. read more

Never coming back here again. I came at 1am this morning because I was having abdominal / back pain that may be related to my kidney stones or gallstones. They took me in within the hour and I have been in the ER room since. They completed ignored me for an hour and then a nurse finally came and provided me medication as if I was having a stomach ache. When I requested a doctor she said "They didn't come to you yet?" I said "No" and then she said that I will be next. Then she left for the night without passing the message. It is going to be 6am and I still haven't spoken to a doctor. I called up for nurses multiple times and all three of them said they were coming. I'm going to request a discharge and go somewhere else. This place is truly unprofessional. Never again. read more

Upon entering the ER, there was trash scattered throughout the waiting room and trash overflowing from a trash can. Care lacked any sense of compassion nor urgency. A patient was being treated for open wounds in the hallway and no attempt was made to shield this from others. Please go someplace else if you want to get prompt, courteous, empathetic care. read more
