Penn has a great reputation for a reason. Today I saw Dr, Guggenheim for a concerning matter. He was so pleasant, positive, and definitely put my worrisome mind at ease. I now have a battery of labs to get and return for a follow-up visit. Hands in prayer ... I found Penn's overall staff to be kind, courteous, and proficient. The facility was pretty nice- very clean, the staff was speedy. You walk into a main lobby where you're greeted by a very friendly greeter, who points you in the direction of the department you're going to. My appointment was pretty on time, which is huge for a doctor! read more

Everyone here made took such good care of me while I was going through a very difficult year of medical treatment. Everyone was kind and so knowledgeable, from the people greeting patients as they came through the door to the medical staff. The nurses are nice, however the lack of empathy from pain management Drs and PAs is painfully obvious. Nobody wanted to listen to what I had to say, they just assumed that I was just being a difficult patient. This facility came recommended, but I was not impressed. read more

I recently had to have a pulmonary breathing test for lung cancer surgery. This wonderful woman Natalie conducted the testing. I was anxious about doing well on the test to be able to have the surgery. Not only was she top notch knowledgeable on the testing, but she had the kindest heart. She had empathy for everything I was going through & helped me believe I was strong enough to handle this. I will never forget Natalie, bless her. Besides being the best in her job, she's an amazing woman that goes thst extra step for her patients. And Natalie, if you see this, my outcome was good! Called Penn Medicine Neurology in Cherry Hill 6 times Today to schedule an appointment and could not reach anyone at this location. I was told by a representative which took all my information (very time consuming) that I was being transferred , never reached anyone .... transferred 3 times which someone picked up and hung up, I was disconnected 2 times after being on hold for a long time. I was on hold the next time for 24 minutes, the following for 30 minutes, next time on hold for 46 minutes. I called the Main Penn Medicine number again and asked what I have to do to schedule an appointment the representative informed me they are "busy"...I then asked to speak to a manager, was transferred, I was on hold again and received a recording to leave a voicemail, left all my concerns and contact information. No return call! What a waste of an entire day just because I wanted to be seen by a Doctor with Penn Medicine at Cherry Hill. Very frustrating. read more

I went to see a neurologist, Dr. Rohini Samudralwar, MD. She made notes in My Penn Chart and it was done incorrectly. Another doctor brought her notes up and they said I had a debilitating disease, which I don't. She refused to apologize, would not correct them. She told me I need to fix it with the record department. She was unapologetic, cold, and dismissive. I intend to file a complaint with medical boards about her. read more

On Dec 22, 2023 I went to Penn in Cherry Hill for a CT scan. The agent at the check in desk said the copay would be $100. I said that did not sound right but I did not have documentation with me to dispute the amount. So I paid $100 in order to get the scan. Upon returning home I contacted my insurance company (United Healthcare) to check the copay amount. The correct copay amount for a CT scan was verified as $ 20.00, and in my case there was no copay since I had already met the "out of pocket" maximum. I then called Penn billing office and they said they would submit the request for refund. About 2 weeks later I called again to inquire the status of my refund and was told it would take 15 to 30 days. I expressed the fact that it was their error and up to 30 days seemed excessive. The person was abrupt and kind of said well that's our policy. I called again after 30 days and was told that they had to resubmit it and it would restart the 15 to 30 day clock. Bottom line is that they have had my $100 for almost two months now and appear that they couldn't care less. This can be verified by a simple phone call to the insurance company who will tell them there was ZERO copay for this procedure. Having to wait two months (or more) for a valid refund is outrageous. Penn may be a great hospital but their billing dept response to patients is horrible. As of today, I still do not have my refund. read more

Most of the time I write reviews of restaurants, bars, breweries, and coffee shops. This time I will write about a medical provider. Penn Medicine is light-years beyond any regular doctor's office that I have visited closer to home. Their doctors are scholars and are thus at the top of their game. They tend to get the diagnosis correct and not just scratch their heads. The check-in experience is way better, too. You get a private booth, so that your HIPAA-sensitive information is not shared with the whole waiting room. I get so annoyed with busy doctor's offices where the grouchy receptionist just pushes a clipboard towards me with a grimace on his or her face. Not here. They introduce themselves by name. Then they send you up to the color-coded area upstairs, and you don't have to check in again. You get seen ON-TIME! Then all your medical information stays in the Penn Medicine database, so your cardiologist can easily see your blood test results that your primary ordered. You can also see everything in your Mypennmedicine patient portal. They are in-network with my insurance. I don't know whether that applies to you. But other than driving a little farther to get there, it is totally worth it for me to come here. The Cherry Hill location helps me a lot because then I don't have to schlep all the way into Philly. The parking is easier here, too, and you don't have to pay for it. Their Route 70 location in Cherry Hill is extremely central. read more

Penn Medicine has a great outpost here. The building is new and state of the art. It houses a variety of medical offices. The check in process was smooth. Waiting areas are bright and well lit with comfortable seating. Exam rooms were also nice. There is a small cafeteria and seating on the first floor. I was able to find a small private space to make a phone call. There's lots of free parking. It was easy to get to from Philadelphia. read more

Let's just talk about how Penn Medicine is different than a standard doctors visit. I found that every doctor here genuinely cares about you -- they aren't trying to rush you out or ignore you. Everyone sincerely wants you to get better. I appreciate how not only do they have digital health records, but it also can sync up with your iPhone's Health app. I also appreciate how they try their hardest not to overbook you and have you in the waiting room for as short as possible. I'm docking a star though because they're growing and hiring a lot of relatively new & younger doctors. I personally prefer a younger doctor since, well, I'm young too. But if you are coming with a condition or illness that you think is rare or requires more diagnosis, you might want to keep this in mind and make sure you are assigned to someone who's more likely to have 'been there and done that' so to speak. Still, I love Penn Medicine and my entire medical team there. I strongly recommend them! read more

I am scheduled for spinal fusion with Virtua and I wanted the second opinion of a neurosurgeon. I tried with Penn Medicine because it is affiliated with Virtua. I was interviewed for intake for over an hour to determine which neurosurgeon would be best. The next day a different person called and told me I had to be screened for an appointment. The person was curt and completely lacked compassion. NEVER AGAIN will I seek help from Penn Medicine - Cherry Hill. read more

I cannot imagine a cleaner or better run facility. Residents of South Jersey are blessed to have every Penn Medicine facility here. I have used this facility a dozen times, and always been thrilled to have the opportunity to go there as opposed to having to travel into the city. Not only is it closer, but parking is easy and it's much less complicated to get done whatever job you need done. Those who would argue to the contrary are either simply looking for something about which to complain or perhaps suffered an unfortunate anomaly. read more

If you want a medical facility whose specialist always quit and you do not want a professional relationship with a physician, then Penn healthcare is the place for you. If you like doctors who are so specialized that they cannot think outside the box, then go to Penn Medicine. And, if you think they care about the health and well being of their patients, that would be the incorrect assumption to make. I tried to stay within their system to make my medical records more accessible. You cannot go for follow up visits when the doctors keep quitting. Good luck if you choose one of their specialists. My visit to the Cherry Hill location on April 23, 2021 was without a doubt fantastic due to the kindness and professionalism of Ty Chappell. This wonderful gentleman is at the front desk and directs incoming patients to their locations. My husband uses a walker and has trouble navigating. Mr. Chappell came right over and asked if we needed a wheel chair. He then brought one over and instructed us on how to use it. He then offered to keep our walker at the front desk until we were finished with our Doctor's appointment. The helpfulness and compassion Mr. Chappell afforded us goes beyond just being an employee of Penn Medicine. If there is an employee of the month award or a big giant raise - he certainly deserves it. I I have been a patient with Penn Family Medicine since their inception, and with their lead doctor since 1991. I have experienced the most horrific unprofessional behavior from this office over the past couple weeks, quickly eroding my trust and respect with a team that I have been with for so long, and sadly leading me to write this scathing review. I am fortunately NOT a frequent patient, and see doctors when/as necessary. I had an EXTREME acute medical situation occur the past 3 weeks. During a most challenging health scare, I have been told that "our nurse will not talk to you about your prescription unless you make an appointment", to "let Labcorp figure it out", to "if needed, you can go see a {medical specialist}". If needed? They are the team I am turning to help me know if/when I need to see a specialist! When I asked, multiple times, they could not/would not give the name of a specialist for me to contact, leaving me to figure EVERYTHING out on my own. Nothing could be more true than YOU HAVE TO BE YOUR OWN ADVOCATE when it comes to healthcare. When you cannot count on your long-time medical team during an extreme situation, then it's time to find a new medical team. read more

I recently scheduled an annual physical with Dr Alison Grant at Penn Medicine at Cherry Hill. We discussed my overall health as is typical for a physical. At the time I had pain in my knee, so I told her about this, and told her of my stress at work, which was part of our conversation. A month later I received a bill for $437, with my responsibilty being $314. I called to dispute this bill in February, but just continued to receive bills each month. I called the billing number on the invoice and they explained to me that since I talked about aditional issues, my visit changed from a preventative visit to an office visit. The CS rep said that you cannot discuss other things, like knee pain, during a preventative visit. I was shocked to hear this. Never, in my many years of preventative medical care, have I been billed for discussing my health at a yearly exam. I said to the billing rep, I guess the docs need to tell patients up front, that any conversation, beyond height, weight, BP and temperature, will be charged extra! I feel like this is doctors grossly upcharging services. read more
