There is a lot for kids to choose from - in addition to familiar favorites like swings and slides, there are a lot of exciting and challenging climbing options, interactive music and visual activities (like creating your own optical illusion or putting together a sliding puzzle). There are also unique variations of things like the two person swings, a rope bridge and spiderweb, and more. There are a number of benches and picnic benches nearby. Further off, in a grassy area, is a large first come first serve gazebo, and the small woods behind the playground contain a creek and a fun little trail with two bridges for kids to run around. Currently part of the field is off limits due to new grass seed - if you follow the sidewalks you'll be able to access the playground easily. The area is very walkable or you can use street parking/the small lot behind the library.

Park in either lot and walk around the building; it is not visible till you get all the way in back. Wooded, shady, with benches around, it is ideal for smaller children and anyone in a wheelchair. Baby K loved it, and when she fell, on the rubber "ground," she was fine and wanted to keep playing. A great playground, and with another nearby in the park, part of a 'two-fer' that we will surely be back to.

The park has open space, and a few basketball courts, and a small building that I assume holds restrooms. But we were here for the playground, and it is huge, and diverse, and unusual, and fun. A lot of it is accessible to kids of any age and ability. For the older kids there are cool climbing areas, etc. It was busy on a Saturday so in the interests of health we did not stay long, but hopefully on weekdays it is quieter. My friend suggested taking a walk since it would be getting cooler towards dusk. Lots of people here! Mostly parents watching their kids play soccer and baseball. There's a playground, bathrooms and a loop that goes around the park. It leads to the road as well. Some parts of the loop are shaded too. It's not super large but there are a lot of wide, open spaces. Love it! Parking was interesting. There are multiple lots but if you're hoping to meet someone, the parking lots aren't labeled as to which is which. It's a decent park though, tucked away in a neighborhood. Kind of quiet too.

There is also a basketball court, a paved walking path that has a StoryWalk, and a little structure with picnic tables and vending machines. There's a small playground available, with slides, climbing, and traditional swings. It is located very close to the parking lot (between the baseball diamond and parking), so that's something to be aware of. It is located very near Wyman Woods, which has the larger playground, but it's a great option if you're already attending a sports event here and have kids who need some entertainment.

C. Ray Buck Sports Park is another good park in Grandview. It's got lots of athletic fields. The…read morebaseball diamond is nice and good for summer leagues. It also has a playground with modern equipment. There's a running and walking trail. I think it's better to come when kids are in school or before they get out. It's not a big park and it can be crowded. The baseball diamond is usually crowded in the summer with all the little league then, and other times it's amateur softball players. It also has a basketball court and soccer field. There's a path around the park. I think it's a good park for Grandview. It's located across the street from Wyman Woods Park, so this is a good area to go outside. The streets are kind of busy so be aware of this.

The playground here has been completely replaced. There is still a smaller 2-5 section and a larger…read more5-12 section, but it is all new and updated. There are a variety of climbing options, tunnels, slides, and the like. The 5-12 section looks like a tree house of sorts, with ways to climb up the inside and some creative climbing features aboveground. In addition to the baby and traditional style swings, there is also now a disk swing. There is still plentiful shade and picnic tables, plus a little greenspace. The little pull off does fill up quickly during busy times, but there is street parking available further in the adjacent neighborhood too.
