Very nice short paved hike and unique historic site. Paradise Springs is a natural spring, with 500…read moregallon per hour output. There's a nice interpretive booklet that helps explain numbered highlights. There's a cool decaying building over the springs, which was purely ornamental, the springs works whether its covered or not. The Petit (Pabst) family owned the property and put in a lot of features like a circular wading pool, a gazebo. The springs were bottled and sold until the 1960s, and another owner ran water powered electric in the early 1900s; the first house with electricity in the area. The pond is stocked w/Brook Trout for catch and release only. And across the way there's an old homestead from the 1860s which is in great condition. This is a nice short hike with lots to learn about.

Great for all skill level climbers and walkers. Many options to hang and swing from. The bathrooms were clean and directly across from the play area. The playground is awesome here…read more Imagination Station is a huge, accessible playground for children of all ages. It's a perfect place for mom or dad to be able to climb around with the kids. There is a separate Tot Lot area that is for kids 2-5, but most of the playground is still accessible even for the littler kids. There are plenty of place to play hide and seek, a train, pirate ship, castle, slides, climbing nets, monkey bars and tunnels. The fun tandem swings are something I have not seen before. The entire play area is covered by the soft foam instead of sand or wood chips. We drove out from Wauwatosa and it was worth the drive.

This park seems predominantly geared (pun not intended, I swear!) towards mountain bike riders but there are several loops that hikers can also enjoy. (Mountain bikers need a trail pass too, fyi. Daily or annual passes can be purchased on-site). We didn't come across too many other people while we were here, despite it being a gorgeous fall day. We did meet up with one dog off-leash running with a biker. Scrraaappppe!! (dragging out soapbox) Argh! I get it - for many people they think their dog is well-behaved so they don't need to be on a leash. Well, there are rules for a reason and when people disregard those and let their dog off-leash when they shouldn't, parks crack down & change rules to not allow dogs at all (um, look at most Madison parks as a prime example). People with "well-behaved dogs" forget that #1) other people may be afraid of dogs and your off-leash dog is especially scary to them and #2) other dogs you encounter may be dog-aggressive or leash-aggressive so if your dog runs up to them, oooh boy! ANYway, back to CamRock. This was a fine spot for hiking and I'd go back if I were in the area. However, if I were driving from Madison I would probably opt for Indian Lake over CamRock for a hiking trip. I would definitely like to go back to CamRock in the spring though for some mountain biking, those trails looked like fun!

I love that Mama Rosa and her bouquet of light posts is a piece that goes through the whole park, it is fun to look for the light posts she "picked". I would definitely recommend this park!

Even on a gloomy and a little rainy morning like the one we visited on, this park is vibrant and fun. There are lots of grassy areas to run and play, artistic benches and fountains, the bathrooms are nice and clean, the parks workers blow out all the leaves and take good care of the grounds and did I mention the multiple really cool playground areas and toys? Plus they have Mama Rosa which is the cherry on top! This park made me wish I was a kid again, or that I had young kids again so I could come here and play. If you're in the area, definitely give this spot a stop!

Get motivated by coming to Congdan Park!…read more I like to do some running as part of my physical fitness routine. Delavan streets (like any streets and sidewalks) are brutal on the knees and difficult to enjoy when having to keep a watch out for passing traffic. Congdan Park has become a savior to my fitness. The park is mostly comprised of a pond for fishing with a surrounding .9 mile trail. There are gardens with picnic tables and a water fountain on the west side, which is beautiful in the summer. The trail is relatively quiet, so I haven't had trouble taking laps around the pond, and it's really quite lovely to rest up afterwards in the gardens. One drawback is that the park is right next to highway 43, but if you're going to try and make an area more beautiful why green around the pavement? It's a lovely area that wont be lost on its visitors.

Beautiful park with great trails and rock face to climb around on…read more It's a must visit in the fall and also has excellent views of the horicon marsh. It's also nice to visit in summer and open year round. There's also good camping.
