While I've not had any problems with the items I've bought from them- the company discontinued their in house shipping and referred items to ups store 6595 - outrageous and outright price gouging on the packing and shipping charges. then on top of the excessive price charged - the items weren't even properly wrapped. certainly will make me think twice and check out shipping costs before. read more

Got an email from this auction house that they are discontinuing their in-house shipping for won auction lots (from personal experience I can say this service, while it took forever, was pretty good and affordable). What? Did this auction think its buyers were going to overlook this "little" fact? Okay, so the auction house got some traction and is selling more and can't keep up with shipping items, but did you ever stop and consider that one of the factors which helped you gain traction was the fact that you did in-house shipping? Why not revamp the shipping department? Make it even better, faster, more affordable, like Big Boy auction houses? Oh no, that's not the way to go... Less service for the auction bidder, that's the way to go... Guess what? Now that you stopped doing in-house shipping, I am going to stop bidding at your auctions, and I bet so will many other bidders who don't want the hassle and expense of paying even more money now to have some third-party outfit ship items... If I could give 0 stars I would. This place really pissed me off. I buy for a small business and purchase from auctions all over the nation and usually have absolutely no problems whatsoever. Of course, most auctioneers are on the up and up. Never will I try to buy from these folks again, and I advise the wise to do the same. I participated in their online auction and was actively bidding as the auction lots closed and was the top bidder on the site from which I was bidding. When I did not receive an invoice I emailed and never got a reply, so I called them. The person I spoke with told me that while I may have been indicated as the "winner" on the site from which I bid, that they list the items on multiple site and someone from another site outbid me. How does it happen that you run your same auction on multiple sites? Is it legal? It certainly cannot be ethical in anyway I slice or dice it. Anyway, my personal advice is stay away from these folks, that kind of behavior is shady. read more

Do yourself a favor and do NOT bid on items from Jeffrey S. Evan. I won clothing items on March 3rd. On April 21st, they finally contacted me with an invoice for my clothing items. They said that it was taking so long because they do it all in house. I was happy to hear this because that usually means that shipping will cost less. They charged me $108 for shipping! It's absolutely outrageous. So not only did I have to wait 7 weeks for them to get their act together but they also charged me through the nose. Never have I had such a poor experience with an auction house and Ido this for a living. When I came to yelp to leave a review, I was not surprised to see they have less than 2 stars. The one vague positive review is clearly fake. What a joke of a company. Take your business elsewhere. read more

I was reminded today by Jeffrey S. Evans & Associates of a bad experience I had with their company back in 2017. 10-14-2017 I won an item they were selling on ebay. 10-16-17 they sent an invoice with instructions to pay. They also asked me to advise if I wanted them to ship the item. I paid on 10-16-17 and sent them a email message saying: "I would also like to have you ship my item to me. Please email when you are ready for me to pay for shipping. Thank you for your help with this." 10-31-2017 I forwarded my message from 10-16-17 back to them asking when they intended to send me an invoice for shipping. They replied on 11-1-2017 saying they never got my message from 10-16. They wrote "Once we have that exact cost an associate will contact you for that payment. Per our instructions with your invoice we were working about two to three weeks behind at that time." 11-07-2017 I wrote again asking when I'd be getting an invoice for shipping. They replied on 11-14-2017 saying "Your lot should be pack/ship the first week of November 20." I thought this was taking too long so I opened a case with ebay. On 11-16-2017 they sent me a shipping invoice that I quickly paid. 11-20-2017 I asked again about the shipping. They wrote me "You did not request shipping until 10/31/17 which placed you #289 on our pack list." For me this was unacceptable. 10-31-2017 I showed them my email from 10-16. The 10-16 email clearly shows me asking them to be the shipper. I felt they were calling me a liar so I left them a negative feedback in ebay. In ebay I wrote "10/16 PAID&ASKED THEM TO SHIP/STILL WAITING/SELLER WILL NOT OWN THEIR MISTAKES". They replied, "Client seemed to not read instructions regarding requesting pack & ship." All I wanted was for them to own that I wrote them on 10-16-2017 asking them to ship to me. I followed their instructions, but they preferred to insist that I hadn't. I felt the negative score was justified. Today another disappointment. I intended to bid at one of their auctions on Live Auctioneers. I recognized the name of the Auction House, but had forgotten about the bad experience I had with them back in 2017. I have the details listed above because I never delete my emails. A couple days ago I registered to bid. I even corresponded with them about an item I wanted to bid on. I thought I was good to bid today. I went to bid, and I see my account to bid at their auction had been suspended. I called to ask what the problem is. They said I gave them a negative feedback on ebay in 2017. I was a little puzzled but it all started coming back to me. It's something. They could never locate my email from 10-16-2017, but knew to block me 2 years after I left them a negative on ebay. They wouldn't accept in 2017 that a mistake was made at their office, and now two years later still do not accept this. When a business can't own something as simple as loosing an email, I'd be surprised if they would ever own any mistake. Be cautious when dealing with this company. If something goes wrong they will insist it's your problem not theirs. read more

Payment is easy. Staff is polite, yet somewhat arrogant. BEWARE: Shipping charges are considerably higher than what some comparable auction houses charge. Their standard procedure for dealing with this complaint, is clearly well practiced. I have been working with auction houses on a regular basis in the US and abroad for 15 or so years. After so much experience, you know when you are being fed none-sense. Sorry to be crude, but "don't be peeing on my boots, and telling me its raining". It's just irritating. They will continue this practice, until enough people call them on it. I for one don't accept it, and will not use their service again. read more

Consignors BEWARE! I am a collector and wholesaler of autographs. At this reporting I have 66 successful transactions on Invaluable and many more directly through other auction houses. I have one unpaid item on invaluable for an item that the seller used shill bidders that I refused to pay, a seller who is now not even allowed on their site. But, because I have 1/67 failures to pay, this company has blocked me from bidding on their items. With this policy they are cheating their consignors out of the chance for their items to reach their maximum bidding potential and blocking serious buyers even with long proven track records. I advise anyone to look elsewhere than these guys to sell your items. There are many better options in Virginia. read more

In bidding on a lot through Live Auctioneers, I bid the highest amount (repeatedly), but the screen kept saying I'd been outbid, even though a higher bid than I'd made was never reflected on the screen. I called and asked for an explanation, but they could only say Live Auctioneers was having problems. Live Auctioneers does not answer their phone. A very odd and disturbing experience! I was recently encouraged to sign up on their website and register to bid as I was having difficulty trying to bid through Invaluable.com. Shortly after providing them with my personal info, I received a rejection email saying that my bidding history was unsatisfactory and if I had any further questions to call which I did so immediately. The rep I spoke with went on to tell me that my auction history was not good including attempting to bid under different names. Let me tell you, this was very disturbing to me as I had no idea what she was talking about and what made matters a bit more uncomfortable was that she refused to tell me what names had been used. I must say, I have been bidding in online auctions for more than 12 years and have had a few disagreements with auction houses though my experiences have been far better than worse and I have probably spent in the 7 figures range since then. I have dealt with these fine folks for as long as they have been in business. I know I have spent the cost of a nice home with them. You will not find a more honest or reputable auction house- and I deal with many. I cannot imagine what the two reviewers were upset about prior to me- but nothing in all our dozens of dealings has ever been bad. I have been in the antique jewelry business for decades and find their write ups to be quite fair.. if conservative. I buy sight unseen many times. Wow you guys are TERRIBLE -- a friend of mine bought something from one of your auctions, you guys packed it and shipped it (and you charged him for this service) and it arrived broken. Now you're accusing him of breaking the item and you're refusing to accept responsibility and you are not willing to cover the repair costs that your poor packing dept. did. Really? That is just the worst business ethics possible. You charged him for the packing an shipping and your packing job resulted in the damage, but instead of covering the repairs you turn around and blame him??
