The owners of Jeff Pool Services did contact my parents and resolved the pool heater issue without any additional problems.

This company is a rip off ! I got my first bill for my first month and it was over $400 . They are charging over $100 per visit . My pool in Florida is $90 a month including chemicals . And then when you try to ask them about it they don't answer in a kind manner . I would never recommend this company . read more

So we've been trying to get our pool operational with this company since December and every time they come out its another problem, without fail our pool filled to the brim with water is drained so that a garden hose takes a few hours to refill the contents. I think they've an ownership stake in the water company. Yesterday they come out to try once again to get our pool working this time there is a leak in a pipe. Zack calls and tells for the low, low price of $1,500.00 they'd come dig a hole and tell us how much more they want to charge us. Of course I had a couple of questions about a $1,500.00 hole how wide will it be, how deep, will I be able to see China from it? $1,500.00 for a hole then Zack begins belittle me telling me he has men who will work and need to be paid for their work. No kidding but $1500.00 just to dig a hole and after a few questions he begins to scream at me "HOLD ON A MINUTE I'VE GOT THE OWNER SITTING RIGHT HERE. I highly doubt the owner was sitting there and allowing Zack to yell at a customer and if he was there may lay the problem with the company. I yelled back HEY DON'T SCREAM at me. So he hung up the phone. I understand people have bad days but, don't take it out on me the customer and how in the world could you be surprised that someone would question paying $1,500.00 for two people to dig a hole then tell me what the cost of the job will be. We are very low key people but like everyone else we give respect when we get respect. Let me start this by saying how friendly the staff at your company are. -We were quoted $1500-$2000 for construction then charged $2500. Jeff's would not budge when alerted. -Jeff's began construction but didn't order liner/used for someone else that resulted in the post-construction/liner phase sitting on pause for 15 days. However we were not told of the issue and expected someone to show the following day with the liner, but I had to call four days later to be told that there was a mix up with the liner. -The day after the project was completed a Jeff's pool guy came for a complimentary cleaning. We had no idea he was coming or why it would be scheduled for just one day after it was put up. -Jeff's Pool guys put the skimmer where THEY wanted to causing issues with deck framing. -One week after the pool was completed a water sample was taken to Jeff's and we had to purchase $30 in chemicals because the water showed zero chlorine because the chlorinator was hooked up incorrectly. (and for the water testing our pool information wasn't even in the computer-from the place that put it in! The guy at the counter said I needed to bring the specs the next time). -Jeff's Pool guy came out to fix the leaky pump and check on pebbles and divot under the liner. Turns out Jeff's pool guy connected parts incorrectly and admitted to not glueing many of them in. Jeff's pool guy rolled pvc pipe over pebbles and did not address divots. -We went to Jeff's on a Monday 6/8/20 to return stairs as they were floating, had a crooked railing, and discuss ongoing issues with divots. We were told Chis Sr would call us that day. On Tuesday 6/9, Chris Sr said he would come out himself and put them in and address other concerns the following day (Wednesday). No call no show. However Jeff's Pool guy showed up unannounced on Tuesday 6/16. Pool guy spent 8 hours before he diagnosed it as he "thinks it's a mole or a snake that dug a tunnel" and has never seen it before. When asked if a mole caused the scratches in the $450 steps he simply said "no that was me, but I made the railing less crooked by loosening the screws the construction team screwed too tight and stripped 3 screws." This visit culminated with a call with Chris Sr who wanted us to "help him out with money" for sending his guy and investing all this labor for a problem they aren't sure if it's their fault or not. I THINK NOT. In fact, we have invested too much of our own time on the phone and waiting around for Jeff's Pool to show up. If anyone should be compensated it should be us. A few business suggestions: -Call people back -Do what you say you are going to do. I'm fact-UNDER promise and OVER deliver -The same for verbal quotes-it's best to OVER estimate -Let people know when you actually are going to show up (stop showing up unannounced) Super nice people and great at sales, but the rest is subpar. read more

Ok. So. I moved to the area and now own a pool that is rapidly turning green. It is the middle of summer and we still have 10 plus weeks to enjoy it if we can get it turned around. I asked my realtor who I need to talk to get it figured out and she sent Jeff's with really no second option. It wasn't the easiest getting ahold of them even in business hours hence the removal of a star. If they were better at answering the phone it would be a solid 5 stars. Once I got into the store and built a relationship with the staff they were very helpful. Without even having someone out to look at the pool in person (I just showed them pictures on my phone) we were able to test the water and whole the pool back to health. They were able to teach me the basics of keeping a pool with my 5-8 visits to the store. I ended up getting a couple "one time cleans" by a professional to make sure it was good. They have a service plan that seems to be a reasonable amount at $45/week. I haven't done that yet. The other reason I took a star off was there was a misunderstanding (admittedly partially my fault but I was ignorant to the process) about getting some service to the pool and getting everything checked out but it is a different department from a different city that handles certain things and not the store I frequent in St. Mary's. All in all, they do a very good job with all your pool needs. Pool stuff (chemicals and nets, etc.) is cheaper other places but it doesn't come with professional advice and water testing. I like the folks there and I think it is mostly worth it. Find the balance. read more

What crooks!! Call some other pool service company unless you want to pay thru the nose for NO SERVICE what so ever!!! A technician came to my house to check on a leak that they had previously repaired just a month or so prior (and charged me almost $300 to fix a simple PVC leak). He did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING other than tell me nothing is leaking. They charged me $100!!! I'm now filing a "small claims" and taking them to court. It's time to stand up and fight back against companies like this that have no moral character and just rob from people. We'll see what the judge says. Can't wait to see them in court!!! I'll make sure my friend from the local newspaper is there as well to do a write up on their unethical practices. read more

I thought I could save a couple of dollars by calling another pool company on the Island come to repair my heater. The company said the pool heater was old and needed to be replaced costing over $4K. Our heater is older but I wasn't prepared to spend $4K on a new heater. Jeff's had fixed the heater before and something told me I should call them because they did such a good job. The repair man was there 5 minutes and told me that muddopers had built a nest in the heater. He scraped the mud away and the heater was working perfectly! I have learned my lesson to always use someone you can trust! Thank you Jeff's Pool Service! read more

My family has been using Jeff's Pool and Spa Service for our pool on Hawkins Island for more than 10 years. They have always been professional, helpful, and friendly. They arrive at the same time every week and they do an excellent job maintaining the pool. Anytime there are minor repairs that need to be made, for example I accidentally stepped on the 8 year old plastic skimmer top and proceeded to break it and fall into the skimmer (I'm smooth like that ... ) - the service technician simply replaced it and billed us a minimal charge on our monthly maintenance bill. The same is true any time our Polaris has acted up. The wheel fell off a couple months ago, and they had it up and working within a day without troubling me to discuss it. (I mean - the wheel fell off ... it obviously needed to be repaired.) Anytime there has been a more significant issue or repair required, the staff at Jeff's Pool will either knock on the door with an explanation, quote, and ask for permission to make the repair, or they leave me a voicemail with the quote. The technicians are knowledgable and can answer all my questions, and the repairs are always made within a day or two. In the 10+ years Jeff's Pool & Spa service has been taking care of our swimming pool. There has only been ONE time that the pool was anything but crystal clear, and that was the result of a sudden Increase in the number of our friendly marsh raccoons suddenly using the pool ... as a toilet (ick!). One call to Jeff's Pool and they came out that day. They knew immediately what the problem was, and adjusted the chemicals as needed. The pool was crystal clear again within 24 hours. The great thing about Jeff's Pool Service is that they're reliable, responsive, consistent, and they get the job done well, at a fair price, with very little guidance needed from me. Worse customer service possible. Technicians did not show to appointments on time. Over charging for items not approved. No picture proof of services provided due to us being out of state as requested. And refusing to change over charge fees stating they would force us to pay for items not approved of. read more

I wish I could give them less than one star. My pool pump broke and after discussing that my wife and I were going on vacation and needed the pump fixed. I could have bought the pump for $200 online, but Jeff's assured me that if I bought their pump for $480 that they would have the pool ready to swim in when I got home. So I figured that that was a good deal so I agreed and when I got home, to my dismay the pump had been changed but not plugged in and the water was dark green. When we called Jeff's and expressed our dissatisfaction for their service the fools told me that it would cost $400 more to get the pool clean and that they would split the costs with me. Poor service, poor people skills, and poor problem solving. Never use Jeff's pools. read more

I used Jeffs pool service to maintain my pool while I was on a 4 month trip. I had used another pool service in the past but was concerned they were too small. In retrospect, I was much better off. Jeffs Pool service came out before I left and I went over the pool systems. I noticed there was not a single note taken. About a month and a half I received a call from the technician asking if I would be back at the house that day. I told him I had and would be out of town. He explained the pool water was low and he could not stay to fill the pool. I noted that the area had had a substantial rain fall and I was alarmed. I spoke to someone at the office and they said they would send someone out to check equipment. That was done and the equipment checked out. They recommended a leak check at a cost of $1,000. I ok'd the leak test. They performed the leak test and said they found 3 small leaks. I feel the leaks described could not have caused the low level. Once I returned, I called the service manager with my concerns. He said he would get back with me. It's now 3 months later and I have not received a call. I told the service manager that I thought they should formalize and document the pool environment at service start. I believe there lack of organization was a cause of much of my dissatisfaction. The service agent who originally called did not know where the pool water fill valve was, even though I went over this at start up. If you use there service, make sure you are around to check up on them after each service. read more

Awful Service. We had an agreed upon price of $500 and now they are trying to add on $80. They did not even fix anything. They are the worst. I strongly warn anybody who even thinks about hiring them, do not trust them. read more
