Very disappointed in the lack of responsibility that this company has taken for the mess they have created for us. Initially installation looks like a good job. But later in the year when we began building the deck off of the new patio doors the installed for us, we saw how they were installed improperly. The patio doors were installed too high with a 2x4 placed underneath. This creates a tripping hazard entering and exiting the house to the deck. As we continued around the house to prepare for new siding, we realize the kitchen window would also need to be reset as the window was set out too far. We contracted this company to do 3 houses for us, and our deeply concerned as to what kind of workmanship we will find on the other 2 once we begin residing them. We reached out to the company and there solution below was that we should pay more to have them correct the shoddy workmanship they created. Hope you are doing well. After discussion with our Installation Manager, we would like to confirm that, from our point of view, we do not see any deficiencies with the patio door installation. Unfortunately, because of this, we are unable to address the issue under warranty. As a possible solution, we can lower the level of the patio door and build up the area above the door to fill the gap. The cost for this work would be $550 + GST if our installation crew is already working in your area. I had to go into the branch in order to find out my windows had been done for over a week already and once actually able to be booked for installation, the install guys did a good job but seemed unwilling to interact with me in my own home. From start to finish, there was a complete disconnect between customer and their company. Happy with the product, could not be more upset with the process. This was in 2021 when this was an issue. This ended up being untrue and everything was delayed. Install was finally completed in Jan 2022. Our patio door was the first issue that I noticed. We could barely open it. It took me over a year and countless visits by their techs to finally say that the door was defective. I stayed home for dozens of these visits missing work and activities/family time, and no one would take notes or submit paper work and it was ALWAYS me following up with the company for anything to be done. Their trim work is also done so poorly, it splits within weeks to months after install. They told me if I wanted it done nicely that I would have to pay extra. They also use a copious amount of caulk to fill in any gaps on the exterior. They also damaged our walls and new flooring during the install. We had other windows done by another company as we were fed up with Ecoline and this was not an issue for any of their windows. I am now dealing with our replacement patio door. It is bowed and now leaking cold air into the house. I have reached out to them, and of course I know this is going to be a painful process to get anything rectified. I do not have any hope that they will do anything. Lastly, they demand payment upfront and before any work starts. They will just stand there until they are paid. This is because the company will make the workers pay the company if a client does not pay. Highly unethical. A client should be able to pay once the work is done and you are satisfied, not before. There is no hold back in case poor work is done. I have lost countless work days, time with my family and energy with this company for them to rectify their issues. First of all, they charge you an OFFICE FEE to apply for a permit, what is understandable, however YOU CAN DO IT YOURSELF for FREE, online. **Also be aware that they will include the PERMIT amount PLUS the OFFICE FEE on your invoice. They will sum everything and CHARGE you GST on the total amount and not ONLY on the OFFICE FEE** Also, the City inspection (AFTER the work was done) ​took my wife 1.5 minutes (not exaggerating) to be done and the company wanted to charge me $40.00 to move the Van PLUS time service. Bruce even tried to convince me to not do it myself because the questions would be hard and I am not a plumber. DO IT YOURSELF for FREE. Second, they don't start the job early in the morning because they have to run to the store to buy the supplies (Bruce told me). Then, it makes sense that they request you 40% ahead But Bruce left in the middle of the service to get the parts... So ,the quotation that was done before (I assumed that he knew what he would need) was for nothing? In addition, they charged me for this period while Bruce was gone and Mike was on his phone (not cutting walls or doing some job related) while he was waiting for Bruce. The amount was smaller than the amount that the COMPANY OWED ME... So I did not understand and I didn't want to pay, but my wife convinced me to pay. I paid, but I asked about the calculations and for my surprise they OWED ME money AGAIN and Bruce told me that my money was going to be refund the next day. The next day came and suddenly I OWED MONEY AGAIN... I know!!! Very confusing! I asked for a break down on the receipt and the calculations did not match... I had paid more money than I owed but I STILL OWED THE COMPANY MONEY. It was like... Leo "You paid me 10 and you owed me 7, so you owe us 3." Yes I know, crazy right?
