We have our lights, various appliances, and other smart home devices already hooked up to Alexa, but I could NEVER get a smart thermostat installed and working properly. I was unsuccessful at installing one myself, my old heating & cooling guys couldn't get one working, and an electrician we hired couldn't get one working. I was told that something was wrong with the configuration in our furnace's wiring, or alternatively, the smart thermostat we purchased was a lemon. I had to settle for running up and down the stairs, flicking the heat controller back and forth between "heat" and "cool" manually, depending on whether I needed the furnace or the central air conditioning. With the constant wild swings in Edmonton's temperature all throughout the Spring, it was a major pain to keep resetting the thermostat manually when the rest of our smart home was so automated. Recently, when our old thermostat started wearing out and malfunctioning, I thought I'd give the installation of a smart thermostat another shot. I carefully researched the reviews, and saw that Trust Home Comfort came highly recommended. They seemed to have a lot of experience in upgrading old-style thermostats to electronic smart home systems. I'm happy to report that I was not disappointed! My first discussions with Van were great. He understood exactly what we wanted, he sympathised at my frustrations with our previous attempts to convert to a smart thermostat, and he assured me that Trust Home Comfort could solve the problem. He promised to send his best, most experienced installer (Kang). I got an appointment immediately for two days from the day of booking, which was enough time to get the thermostat brand and model he suggested (ecobee), after I asked him for his recommendation. Amazon supplied the thermostat through next-day delivery through ecobee's Amazon store, and the installer showed up the very next day after, on-time-to-the-minute of the booking we made, to install the device. (I should also mention that Trust Home Comfort has a sophisticated computerised appointment booking and billing system, so reminders are sent out via email in a timely way before the appointment, and billing is detailed and easy-to-pay online). To make a long story short, Kang was able to immediately identify the simple wiring problem that hexed us all these years, preventing us from installing a smart thermostat sooner. At one stage years ago, our humidistat control was moved to the furnace room by our old heating and cooling guy, and the wiring of the old humidistat left behind from the old location was confused with one of the power wires needed to power-up a smart thermostat. The correct wire was quickly relocated by Trust Home Comfort's technician, and the smart thermostat was up and running in no time! The old manual thermostat worked because it didn't need external power, but when previous heating companies and electricians tried to hook up a smart thermostat to the (dead) "power wire", it naturally couldn't power-up because the old humidistat wire, although the same colour as the correct external power wire, wasn't powered. Trust Home Comfort figured out what the problem was, and fixed the problem immediately. Their experience and ability to troubleshoot problems quickly proved they were a sound choice to install our new smart thermostat. The billing was detailed, fast and very reasonable. They did exactly what they promised to do, and today the smart thermostat is working EXACTLY as it should. Their technician was experienced, and set everything up exactly as we wanted. What more could I have ask for? I can't recommend Trust Home Comfort enough! Needless to say, they are our new, permanent service provider when it comes to any home heating or cooling solutions.

    A couple of guys came into the house to diagnose my drain problems. One of them was wandering…read morearound my house looking at all my plumbing, the toilets and taps, everything. I was kind of creeped out having one guy wandering around in my house. Then he told me that the downstairs sink didn't have hot water for some reason. I had to tell him, a trained plumber, that we turned off the hot water on the spigot under the sink because apparently they don't teach that in plumbing school. They were supposed to come later and do some very expensive work but I realized there was a safety concern I needed to discuss with them. They answer the phone with "How can I help you smile today?" I asked the plumber in charge to call me so I could discuss it with him. I waited for two hours but no call. I called back and they asked me again "How can I help you smile today?" And I said I needed to talk to the plumber again. Still no call. By this time I'm getting steamed. I'm concerned about the safety of their own staff members. So I called back and told them to cancel the job if I couldn't get hold of the plumber. Within two minutes, he was calling me. He has a cell phone on him, he pulled it out at my house, so I know he could have been contacted at any time. But the woman on the phone said she didn't call him, she had emailed him. And he told me he was purchasing supplies so he wasn't with another client. Cancelled the job. I don't want anyone to work in my home who doesn't return a call when I'm spending almost ten thousand dollars for a job. Never got my refund even though there was no contract.

Their…read moretelephone reps (I spoke with 2 before I actually booked my appointment) are very professional in the manner they conducted themselves on the phone. Due to horror stories I had read online about apprentice tradesmen costing customers hundreds/thousands of dollars because of shoddy work, I made a point of requesting a red seal plumber when I booked my appointment. I made sure to book the 1st appointment so I didn't get excuses like "oh the first job took longer than we expected". The day of the appointment, my plumber was about an hour late. The explanation I got when I called them was that they were trying to locate one of their red seal plumbers. This disappointed me because I thought why were they just trying to find a red seal plumber that morning? For this reason, I couldn't give this company a 5-star rating. When the plumber Rick S. finally showed up, he was very nice, very polite, very professional and was wearing a uniform just like on their website. I thought "Yay, no plumber butt here." He promptly showed me his red seal card and his driver's license matching the name on the red seal card. (I happen to know that some companies let their apprentice workers "share" a borrowed red seal card so yes, I asked to see picture ID to make sure that my plumber is in fact the person whose name is on the red seal card). Rick managed to get my stuck auger out of my bathroom sink drain. With his high-powered industrial grade auger, he was able to rid my sink drain of the clog. He also checked the kitchen sink, washer, water closets, and spare bathroom sink to make sure they were running properly. He sold me on the benefits of their Diamond Club (check their website for the benefits) which includes a once-a-year free check up to make sure all my plumbing is running properly. For the entire duration of my appointment, Rick conducted himself in a professional manner. Almost a year later, I got a call from the company offering to book my free check up. The lady who called was very professional and courteous, just like their other telephone agents I spoke to before. Once again I specified a red seal plumber and booked the first appointment of the day to make sure my plumber had no excuse to be late. Once again, my plumber was late by about an hour and a half. And again, this is why I couldn't give the company a 5-star rating. The plumber Tim was very nice and polite and promptly showed me his credentials upon arrival. He said that he was called to another customer's emergency booking prior to coming to my place. Tim did his job and gave my place what seemed like a thorough check up. He also patiently tried to fix my kitchen faucet's low water flow for no charge. He took the faucet apart to examine it and put it back together. Turned out the faucet needed to be replaced. He made polite recommendations without making me feel like he was "up-selling". I would gladly recommend this company based on my two positive encounters I've had with them. To me, it is highly important that the tradesmen I deal with don't look, act, and talk like scary, stinky, lazy, cavemen.
