In a follow up email, I expressed my surprise at their indifference to the many pieces I needed framed; their further response was exceptionally rude and dismissive. For premier framers, I thought they would be enthusiastic about assisting me with my art collection but I was treated as an annoying child. I wonder if I would've been treated with a modicum of respect had I been a man. Will never grace them with my business.

The also have an annex for maker space and events a few doors further west. Today they had a fundraiser and art display in honor and celebration of International Women's Day. When I saw the announcement that the Handweaver's Guild of Boulder would be in the Annex demonstrating the weaving process and set up for patrons of all ages but especially children to try it out, I knew I had to go. In my younger years, I had been a member of this Guild and had done a demonstration with a group of weavers at the Denver Stock Show in 1975. I was hoping to hear what the Guild is doing now and hopefully run into someone from that era that is still active. And indeed I did. It's amazing work they do and the Gallery in the main building displays weaving as well as so many other arts. Paintings, drawings, jewelry, pottery, fabric designs, handmade cards, all sorts of art objects are to be seen and purchased . It's a very nice space and was very well attended on this holiday on a beautiful spring day. But nice stop in to the gallery anytime and look into the programs they run in the Annex. It's easy to find and there is street parking in the area and a bus stop 2 blocks away. And eateries in the area too.

Just said 'Out to lunch, returning soon". (Are we supposed to guess if that'll be an hour, 20 minutes?) We walked around, went into Vital Sports, bought some items after taking our time trying on and such.....went back, sign Still there. We sat for another 10 minutes & finally gave up and drove back to Denver, Very Disappointed. AND I guarantee you Lost some significant sales as I had scoped thing out for my client. The NoBo Art Center is part of the NoBo Art District off Broadway in North Boulder. It's a bit hard…read moreto find. If you're going north on Broadway, turn left when you see Wapos Mexican restaurant, then follow the driveway to the south of the restaurant building. Immediately behind Wapos you'll see a low, green building with garage-type business units. The first space is the NoBo Art Center. This facility is used for monthly art exhibits, selected from NoBo Art District member proposals. There is also an active schedule of events including workshops, classes, and performances. The space is available to rent by NoBo members. This is a small, basic space for art exhibition, but it has good, white walls, a decent lighting system, and a reasonably high ceiling. It provides an acceptable gallery for viewing art. I have only made one visit so far, so I can't comment on the quality of the NoBo membership, but the exhibit I saw of Mollie Jackson's work was quite impressive. Some of her pieces were fairly large-scale and the space was able to accommodate them.

Parking is very difficult as most of the surrounding streets are marked, "No Parking." There is a lot for tenants behind the building which is marked, "Permit Only," but the gallery manager said it was OK to park there. The gallery is in the northeast corner of the building, facing Broadway. The space is long and narrow. A wall of glass overhead doors limits exhibition space, but provides lots of light. The gallery showcases work from the 250+ NoBo members plus work from established artists along the Front Range. The front lobby of the gallery contains the NoBo Artisan Gift Shop which shows original art, decorative objects, and gifts. The space is available to rent for commercial and private events.

The NoBo (North Broadway) Art District is Boulder's only official arts district. It dates back to a…read more2009 revival of the First Fridays arts open house tradition and now encompasses more than 350 professional artists and creative businesses--mostly in the North Broadway and Lee Hill corridors. Administrative offices are at the NoBo on the Corner location which also includes work, meeting, and exhibition space. The Bus Stop gallery is a formal exhibition location while the NoBo Art Center is a more casual work, meeting, and exhibition spot. A group of 20 to 30 studios, galleries, and related businesses is open from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the first Friday of every month. There are regular exhibits at the three NoBo gallery spaces (Art Center, Bus Stop, and On the Corner) plus the independent East Window gallery. The Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art is planning to construct a large new building plus related facilities at Broadway and Violet Avenue which will be the North Boulder Creative Campus. Construction is estimated to start in late 2027 with completion by late 2029. The Art District is actively working on the streetscape with sculptures, murals, lighting, and other installations in progress. NoBo also curates members' art in local businesses. There's a monthly podcast, a newsletter, a book with member profiles and NoBo information, a calendar of events, and a comprehensive Web site. North Broadway was an underutilized part of town only a few years ago, but is becoming a vibrant area filled with modern housing, new businesses, and a rising arts scene. It should really be impressive over the next few years.

Similar to many other rock and metaphysical shops, but I think it's the best one we have in town. The man running it is very nice and kind. He's eager to explain about the uses of things like wood to burn and holders. They have an abundance of minerals all stashed away in every type.
