Dishonest. Unprofessional…read more I hired Jay Gries owner of Thunderbay Pressure Washing & More on November 10th 2023 to clean the exterior of my grandmothers small Oscoda home. The invoice was paid in full on November 10 2023, this included an advance payment of $200.00 to clean the calcium off of the house and another $170.00 payment for 2 gallons of F9 he said was needed to remove the calcium stains. He included this description on the invoice "Will return in spring at start to do this". He did not return and complete the job, he did not phone, text or email me. I reached out to Jay Gries in early April 2024 and asked him if he had a timeline for the job completion. He sent me an x ray, part of a doctors diagnosis and explanation that he was temporarily unable to work and needed more time. I politely agreed to wait. June 4th 2024 approximately 6 weeks have passed and no contact from Jay Gries. I reach out again and ask if he is going to complete the job he was paid in full for. He says he needs to finish physical therapy and will be back to work in about 2 weeks. July 15 continued silence from Jay Gries and Thunderbay Pressure Washing so I email him again, include the Venmo information and request a refund for the $370.00. A member of my family went ahead and completed the cleaning on my grandmothers home and I let him know he can cancel the remaining work. I told him I had been more than patient and polite waiting for him to complete the job from November 10 2023. He claims he is not ignoring me and says yes he will refund me. He also sends an image of a burned truck with body damage and claims he was in an accident and was in the hospital. Today is August 8th 2024 and he has not returned the $370.00 and has not contacted me by any other means. It is curious that there are at least a half a dozen current reviews thanking him for his pressure washing services. They have all occurred during this time. Thunderbay Pressure Washing & More is not accredited by BBB. I have no idea why Jay Gries would include the Better Business Bureau logo on their website claiming they are an accredited business.

I hired this company to pressure wash and then paint the exterior of my home earlier this year and…read moreboy oh boy was that the stupidest decision I ever made in my life. To start off with the owner/painter, Mark, said he would be here at 9 am and then arrived almost 40 minutes late! I should have told him to leave right off the bat but then he starting spouting out some sob story about how he desperately needed this job for the money or he would be getting evicted from his home...so... I decided to let him continue. Soon after that he left in a hurry to go get lunch after only even being here for like an hour and a half. ANOTHER RED FLAG. Then when he finally returned an hour later I could smell beer on his breath and mouthwash in what I can only describe as a pathetic attempt to mask the smell and on top of all that his eyes were pretty dilated and with the way he was acting I am positive he was high on something, as well as pretty buzzed from his "lunch". This was the final straw for me. I told him to pack up his shit and get the hell off of my property. He then peeled out of my driveway like a bat out of hell leaving tire marks behind on the pavement and he even had the balls to drive through my lawn as well, which tore up my grass and honestly I am beyond surprised he didn't take out my mailbox seeing as how he only missed it by about 3 inches! Word of advice: save yourself the headache and frustration and don't make the same idiotic mistake as I did. DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN/COMPANY!!! I promise you will regret it if you do! And if you are reading this Mark Mallette then I strongly suggest you get the help you obviously so desperately need. You should know that you have a problem if you can't even make it through a half of a day at work without reaching for drugs. Go to AA/NA, go to rehab, do whatever it takes to get sober. You go on and on about needing to be there for your children, needing to be able to support them but then you go off and buy drugs and alcohol even after claiming you were short on rent money! You should be ashamed of yourself. I can't believe someone would risk their child's safety and well-being like you just have. I hope it's all worth it in the end just to get your fix. I wish you the best of luck when the time comes and you are looking into your poor, poor, innocent child's eyes to tell them that they no longer have a home to keep them safe at night any longer or a warm, soft bed to sleep in any more because Daddy went out and spent all of our money on drugs and alcohol again and now we are getting evicted all over again. Shame on you.
