We recently experienced a tire blow-out on an inside passenger dully on our 22,000 pound class A…read moremotorhome. Bill's Road Service from Hattiesburg was called on our behalf and arrived in about 1.5 hours with a non-functional jack and improper sized sockets. The 2-week employee wanted to use our stabilizer jacks to raise the motorhome to change the tire. My husband explained stabilizer jacks are just for stabilization, they are not designed for the stress of changing tires. At 2.5 hours, a co-worker brought a functional jack and insisted he could use Standard SAE sockets in place of Metric sockets to remove the lug nuts. Doing so would possibly have round off the nuts. While we were on the phone to complain to Good Sam, Bill's Road Service abruptly left. Because Bill's Road Service told Good Sam we had dismissed them (untrue) and that they were "qualified" to change the tire (untrue), Good Sam initially refused to dispatch a second road service. Bill's Road Service had even told Good Sam that nobody in the area would have metric sockets! How incompetent and ill-equipped for a road service to not have both SAE and Metric sockets. Current vehicles use both. Eventually Johnson Tire Service, from Biloxi, was called. They were professional, friendly, experienced, properly equipped and had our spare on in 55 minutes. We had by then been on the median for eight (8) hours. Call Johnson Tire Service for roadside assistance and new tires in Mississippi.

I will not use this service again. We called Saturday while we were broken down 15 minutes away…read more(GPS said), The guy sounded great on the phone. We told him we needed a 60 mile tow on our truck. He said his tow truck was in he shop but he had his truck and a flat bed truck that he could haul it on. We asked him how much and he asked how we were paying. We said ever how we needed to. So he said he was eating and as soon as he was finished he would be right own. He quoted a price of $425.00. Then shortly after he called back and said he did not add the hook up price so it would be $525. Meanwhile we called a tow company in our town of Macon, Ms. and he was headed out of town. But he said he could send his son to get our loaded trailer. An hour later the son got there and we got the trailer hooked to his truck. I road with them. My husband stayed behind to ride back with the guy from J & C Towing, 35 minutes later after we left, he showed up in a rattle trap of a truck and a flat bed truck. He loaded the truck and they headed our way. On the way back my husband said the guy said he needed some fuel. He pulled over and sat there. My husband asked if he needed his money then. He was going to write a check but the guy told him he needed cash because he was doing it off the books and he would tell his boss that he lost the call. While they were traveling someone called wanting some money and and he made a sketchy deal with him. My husband said the truck was so loud that he would run the air for a few minutes and turn it off and back on every few minutes. They made it to the shop and he turned his truck off. When he went to crank it, it would not crank. My husband had to give him a pull off in order for him to get on the road. My husband said he was so afraid that they were going to have to get a tow truck to pick both of them up on the side of the road.

They kept a bad day from being much worse by bringing a new tire to the scene, putting it on the rim and reinstalling on the RV - road side assistance at it's best.
