I have bought tires and serviced multiple vehicles with Southern Tire Mart in Laurel, MS. I've…read morealways received what I paid for and honest helpful advice when I inquired about issues or concerns. I have used the other Firestone store in town, and they will rip you off by finding at least $600 and up of things wrong with the vehicle during inspection. Then they don't fix what you brought it in for but charges you anyway. Southern Tire Mart does NOT do this! I have tested them by giving the opportunity to agree that something is wrong. They gave the honest answer that nothing was wrong and passed my test. I have done this numerous times, and they pass every time. So many places take advantage of women, but not STM. STM is a first come first serve business, so if you want fast service, you should get there early (at or before opening). Call ahead to make sure they can get to you, if tires are needed, that they are in stock, if mechanic work is needed ask if they can do it. They will give you the proper advice. I don't know of any auto shop that doesn't have a waiting period or want you to leave your vehicle. I've used Laurel Ford and had to leave my vehicle for 3 WEEKS for a leak. Turned out the mechanic that changed the oil at Laurel Ford doubled the filter causing an oil leak. Southern Tire Mart now changes the oil.

One of the service advisors seems to be very cooperative however, the other was not, I went there with a brake and tire issue. They fix the tire issue the same day and the brake issue. I went back the next day early morning pick the car up and it wouldn't go in reverse. I took it back the next morning and I fixed it haven't had any problems except the brakes seem to be a bit spongy. On a separate occasion I took the car there because I was concerned about the brake light and the adjuster wouldn't even look at it. He said I need to come back the next day and I was concerned so I went to fire stone and fire stone, of course saw it as as safety issue so they went ahead and checked the brake light and took care of it even though they were backlogged. It seems as if a southern tire is a wannbe of fire stone.

Went into Paul's like I have done before to get a rock chip fixed. I went inside. Paul said to pull…read moreinto a stall and sit there. No one came out there for over ten minutes. I went inside to make sure I didn't need to give them my keys or anything. When I went in I asked his wife in a polite manner if I needed to drop off the keys. She replied in an annoyed and very abrasive tone, "This is not how we do things here. If you would have given me your keys, you wouldn't have been sitting there." I was very surprised at this reply from the owner's wife. I went to my car sat down and found Jones Co. Glass which is about 5 minutes away. I then got up to get my keys back. When I was getting them back, that same vile, dismissive, and discomforting woman asked me why I needed them back. I replied "Ma'am, there is no customer service or communication and you are being rude for no reason. I'm assuming you are doing this because there are several men in this room egging and goading you on. I asked her if she was the owner. She replied, "Do I look like a Paul?" Biting back the reply "As a matter of fact, you could pass for one," I took my keys and went to Jones County Glass and had my window fixed by the kindest employees. Only 5 minutes away from this location and took 3 minutes to fix. Side note: I have talked to multiple people who have also been verbally abused by the owner's wife, but due to it being a small town, they are hesitant to post a negative review. I have no problem sharing my experience especially when they post bible verses on Facebook every other day :) Legend Waldrup
