Fast forward to 2023 and she flew out to CA (twice!) for our engagement shoot and wedding and words cannot express how amazing it was both times to work with her. Not only is Esther insanely talented, but she's also the kindest, funniest soul and served as both photographer, pseudo-bridesmaid, and therapist on and AFTER our wedding. And while we wanted our wedding to go perfectly, one of the greatest things about Esther was how flexible she was and how she moved with the punches: From our planner needing to change the schedule completely, to breaking her foot the morning of our wedding (!!), Esther never once blinked an eye and even at the literal cost of her own health and wellbeing, stayed until our wedding ended. We love you Esther and would get married all over again, just to have you there!!

I did not work with her for the following…read morereasons: I found Esthers Griffins website and loved the photographs she displayed of her work, I reached out and gave her an detailed breakdown of what we were looking for, as well as the amount of time and locations that we wanted the photographs taken. She agreed and immediately sent me an invoice that I had to pay in order to schedule with her. I do not live in Savannah, and I have no idea what this woman is all about... So her immediate request for an upfront payment via email was a little out of the blue. I've heard a lot of horror stories with people paying upfront and losing all their money. Understandably I wanted to be careful and cautious. ( for all I know this could have been a fake website, with fake pictures and reviews .. Especially since there were no reviews on yelp). After her request I made an effort to call her over two days, I must've called a dozen times. No one answered the phone. And conveniently her voice mailbox was full. At some point my phone calls were going directly to the voice mailbox. So not only can I not leave Esther a message but I also couldn't get in touch with her to ask any questions about her work. (nor did I receive a call back)... This was a huge red flag. So I emailed - I asked Esther if we can pay partially now and when we meet her we can pay the remainder, she expressed an extreme attitude. I'm not sure where our conversation may have been unclear, but I did not say I wasn't willing to pay her in full as she requested. I was only asking if she would consider a retainer as most photographers do. I made an effort to reach out to her via phone and email to simply ask a few questions regarding her process of working with customers so I would feel more comfortable working with her and she disregarded that effort. As someone who is in the creative industry I would never treat a potential customer like this, nor would I work with someone who I have never met, let alone never been able to speak to on the phone. How could Esther expect customers to pay her in full if they can't even get in touch with her over the phone. ( or don't bothered to call you back regardless of providing your phone number in every email). Esther has made this interaction incredibly unpleasant and unprofessional and in all honestly it is very upsetting that she treats people like this. I still don't know if Esther is a real photographer with a legitimate business, I never spoke to her, and she never bothered to return my calls. The only thing she was very fast about doing is sending me an invoice. A lot of red flags popped up after that. And her response to shoo me away immediately were extremely unprofessional. Perhaps at the time she didn't care to accept another job? - but I would say if you are like me, and want to be sure that you're not sending your money to a fake account, and don't want to be scammed, I will be very careful going forward with this "photographer". These days it's very easy to fabricate an entire career on the Internet, so if you're being asked to send money and then meet them in the park and yet they never speak to you I would avoid them at all costs. And if this does happen to be a legitimate business, then I highly suggest learning how to speak with potential customers, and try to work with them especially when they are kindly asking you standard business questions in an effort to get to know you. After all - liking your personal photographer is very important, but how would you know if they don't bother to speak with you.

We ventured out to Hilton Head Island from the west coast with my husband's family (our first time)…read moreand decided to gift the grandparents a family photoshoot (10 of us in total - 2 grandparents, 4 parents, 4 children between ages 3-8). After culling through several reviews of photographers in the area, we e-mailed Kate - she was so responsive right from the start even before we decided to commit, and it was no different after. She's so kind and easy to work with, and so knowledgeable about the HH area. We met Kate at the beach at dusk on photoshoot day and everyone took to her right away - she was so efficient, and knew exactly what kind of shots she wanted to capture, and at the end was happy to accommodate requests. Her work is beautiful as she has an artful eye for photography but her ability to capture children in their truly joyous state is what really sets her apart. We had a photo session that I was pretty sure would yield nothing because my girls behavior was prohibitive. Angie managed to capture some of the best moments ever! She captured the quirkiness, sass and uninhibited nature of my children, and really surprised me. The pictures were absolutely perfect at representing who we are as a family. A lot of photographers are awesome, and they know how to utilize the light and optimize the natural backdrop, but being able to identify raw emotion and unexpected moments is the talent that most search for in a photographer. I've been photographed by Megan in the past but this was my first full on Savannah Glamour…read moreexperience! And what an experience it was!! I got to pick out my favorite dresses from the glamor closet, which is like a color coded rainbow of about 200 ballgowns! Then the wonderfully sweet Johanna did my hair and makeup, with amazing results! Megan and I chatted while Johanna worked her magic, and I expressed some of my reservations about posing and the quarantine weight I had put on. Megan is the biggest cheerleader and more than soothed my nerves! This is what she does for a living and if you are at all familiar with her work, you can see the utter joy and happiness in her models faces! That's the real Savannah Glamour experience, how much fun and empowering she makes it! We then drove around to some of my favorite locations around town and began snapping pictures, giggling, and swinging the dresses around to capture light and movement. With each photo I got more and more comfortable and even surprised myself with how much fun I was having modeling. And let me tell you, the photos turned out so so so much better than my wildest dreams! I can't stress enough how much I love the results! Not to sound conceited but I look so gorgeous in her photos, I can't even believe it! The whole experience is one I truly will never forget and I have the photos to always remind me. WOW, where to begin?…read more.. Jeff, more so than I, spent a good amount of time researching each local videographer. Jeff came to me and said, "Babe, I think you will like this...they have a completely different perspective on filming than the others." So, one after another, after another, after another...we watched the magical workings of Square City Productions. Each video bringing out the uniqueness of each couple and their love. Being a romantic, I felt each emotion, word, and took in each scene that they so carefully mastered. We had found them - these were the beautiful artists that would give us the gift to enjoy our Big Day for years to come!!!! So, we contacted them and made plans to meet. From the moment, we met Adam and Andrea Hooper, it was seamless. They brought warmth and compassion, along with a great curiosity to who Jeff and I are...as we shared our love story with them, it confirmed their commitment and passion for what they do. They captured every single, I mean, EVERY SINGLE moment that we have ever wanted to remember, with such grace. They were able to depict The Love that Jeff and I share, so perfectly. Each time that I watch our video, tears stream down my face. It brings me right back to our Big Day. As the days and years pass, it will be a genuine reminder of the our first moments - when our lives came together...officially!
