The guitar tech at other shop kept trying to fix the electronics in my guitar, It kept failing. 3 different times I brought it into the other shop, and each time the tech there said it was something different. So after the 4th time, something went wrong with the electronics, and $150 later, I decided to find another shop. Enter Centerstage Music. I met Greg. he was friendly and helpful. He took the guitar apart right in front of me and said let check out the wiring, it might not need anything(He was trying to save me money on electronics, instead of trying to sell them me). I stopped him and explained after getting the run around from the other guy I just wanted to replace the electronics just so I didn't have to worry about them, plus it was an upgrade. He understood. In less than 18 hours he texted me it was ready to pick up. It was priced more than fair. He had me plug into one of the many cabinets that he had available and made sure I was happy with the voicing of the pickups. Let me tell you this thing sounds amazing. Not only are will they work on your gear, but they are mainly a rehearsal space and recording studio. I'm, not the typical guy who writes reviews ever(I wouldn't waste my time writing a negative one about the last place), I don't why, I just felt the need to write this one. Consistent with other reviews, issues with the instrument are always the fault of the careless student and can never be a defect in manufacturing or normal wear and tear. Moreover, the repair I paid for didn't solve the problem and an instrument switch was out of the question. When you turn in the instrument, there is a hard sell for you to either continue the rental, buy it outright or buy something else. You can't simply return the instrument without a sales pitch that needs to be rebuffed. That having been said the store does have a lot of instruments and music equipment for sale, does do repairs, is located right on Sunrise Highway and they seem to be connected in the professional musician industry. I just wish it was run better.

One of my children worked here and was treated horribly.I literally had to protest outside the building to get her late paychecks after she finally had enough and quit. The owner then slandered her citing that she left due to medical issues and left him in a lurch. A total lie. We recorded him threatening her when she went to get her paychecks. He threatened 2 other staff members in a similar fashion ... All of this has been reported. I can't get it back. He decided it was a loan? Then he decided to treat it like a store credit so long as my child took lessons there. I have some health issues and it's dificult traveling, it's hard for me to take long drives and stuff. The owner will regularly deliver guitars to my home in Queens. for no charge, he goes out of his way to hand deliver me gorgeous new guitars. I have had only all positive experiences with Monster music for so many years. After buying at least 20 guitars.. I started buying guitars from them 5-10 years ago and they are still the only local shop I support. Owner is super cool, and super honest about how he describes his vintage gear. Just got another gem from them. I had to write a review and express my gratitude.

And there's no better place for lessons, Mike is the absolute best, he was always so patient and just a cool person to be around. I remember bringing in a set of strings because I had no idea how to change them and we did that as a lesson. It's so helpful when you have no idea what you're doing to be able to ask questions. A lot of guys move too quickly, don't connect, or get frustrated if you don't excel using their methods. My first session with Mike awesome. We took a few mins to get to know each other, discover why I was there, what music I like, and what methods I learn from the best. He moves at my pace, with music and methods I care about and understand. I could really go on and on about Mike and this studio, but your really better off just booking a session and seeing for yourself. In less than a month, I've improved more than I did by trying to "YouTube" learn for three months. Thanks to Mike and the whole staff, you guys rock!

Assistant reached out via text to explain pricing, schedule, class format. Wanted to schedule the intro. But assistant made discouraging remarks about my child's NYSSMA score (25 out of 28 first time), and said they would not be the right fit for us due to scores and inability to play piano more than 3 hours per week due to other extra curriculars. If you are very serious about lessons and this is the only activity, perhaps they are wonderful. But very unfortunate to be discouraging young players without even meeting them. Pricing is $249/month for small group classes that are taught as individuals - kids have headphones on and capped to 5 students and teacher goes between students over the hour.
