I had two front, highly…read morevisible veneers replaced after a terrible experience less than 10 years ago with another dentist, and I was extremely hesitant to go through the process again. From the start, Dr. Sarah was confident, calm, and reassuring. She took incredible time and care with my temporaries--they were secure, comfortable, and shaped beautifully, which immediately put me at ease. For the first time, I wasn't worried they would fall out. When it came time for the permanent veneers, we were unsure about the color at first, but Dr. Sarah said to try them in and reassured me we could redo them if needed. She was right--they were a perfect match. She even scheduled a follow-up to make sure I was completely happy. Dr. Sarah and her assistant were patient, meticulous, and truly passionate about their work. After years of stress over this process, I finally feel at ease knowing my smile is in expert hands, and I'm so grateful I found Brielle Dentistry.

I have been debating writing this review for quite a while, since Brielle Dentistry Co seems to…read moreonly get rave reviews here and people appear to have had good experiences with them, but please consider my personal experience with them a cautionary tale. I went there for an emergency root canal, which went well, although I had to wait in the chair doing nothing for 45 minutes, before they finally started working on me, consequently making me late for work. Everyone was very nice and apologetic, but that was a bad first impression for me. They pushed the comprehensive dental exam for a later date, which I did get. They found many many issues with my teeth and gums, which really surprised me, as I practice excellent oral hygiene every day. Long story short - I moved to another state not long after this and found a dentist here, who did the exact same exam - all the bite-wing and panoramic x-rays, photos, physical exam, etc., and found only a tiny fraction of what Brielle "found." For example - Brielle told me I needed to get 2 back teeth extracted. I knew of one tooth, given what was going on, but the other tooth they wanted to extract turned out to be perfectly healthy and fine, with absolutely no need to extract, per my current dentist. Brielle also pointed out other work I needed to get done - another example: deep scaling - while the dentist I go to now found no issues whatsoever with my gums. And there were others. Needless to say, I would never to back to them.

We got there and were brought in the room. Dr. Walenjus arrived in the room and before I could ask questions he shot her mouth with novacane. My daughter has never experienced that and she was crying out in pain. There was no communication with me about when he would start or what to expect. He started to use tools that looked fit for an adult. She was in pain but not given the opportunity to raise her hand for a break or anything. There was SUCH a lack of care, gentleness, empathy or parental respect that it left me feeling so angry but also violated. I will never, ever return here and hope that anyone reading this does not put their child or themselves through such a traumatic experience.

Each dentist as they retired made sure there was a dentist taking the practice over who continued the quality and care that the practice has always been based on. Dr. Dan keeps up on all the newest techniques and equipment - some of them have greatly removed the fear of dentistry. Dr. Dan not only received kudos from the various rating services, but also from his patients. When someone I like asks for a dentist recommendation, it's always Dr. Dan. If I don't like the person so much - I'll tell them I don't know. No need to fill up the office with unpleasant people. The staff is great - no turnover, same people greet you and sincerely ask how you are when you arrive. Appointments are always on time, and emergencies are fitted in seamlessly. Had an appointment scheduled and had a work meeting pop up a the time I was scheduled to be in the…read morechair. I called the morning of, which I understand is not ideal, explained my issue and felt like I was being guilted into coming in. I asked them, what if I had a death in the family and had to cancel, the receptionist said, "Well that's different". How so? If I have to cancel, I have to cancel. It is not up to them to tell me what a satisfactory reason for rescheduling a dentist appointment is. My response was, "Work is more important than a dentist visit at the present time." Needless to say, I will not be going to this office any more. I understand cancellation policies and the need to have them, but a 48 hour window cancellation policy is ridiculous. I found this office to be only concerned about one thing...MONEY. How many times can we get you to come back and how many follow up appointments can we make. I have been going to the dentist for a long time and I have never had so many follow up visits. Normally things that can be done in one visit were broken up into 2, sometimes 3 visits. Maybe the dental world has changed a bit, but that always felt odd to me.
