Went back a second time for the classic (not on the menu but you can ask for it) and again was pleasantly surprise at how good it was. I ended up buying a package so my first one hour massage came out to be 50 or 55 can't remember. I wish I got my masseuse's name because she was that good. I came here today after purchasing a Groupon for 1 Signature Facial & 1 Swedish Massage and could not beat the price-- $52 for two hours of service was great! I was very worried after reading some of the reviews online, but I had a very positive experience. I did not have any trouble scheduling my services. The woman at the front desk was very nice and did not give me any trouble for using a Groupon. Jennifer Day Spa was very clean, well-kept, and nicely decorated. The service consisted of around a 45 minute massage, and the remaining 1 hr 15 mins were spent on the facial and continuing the massage during any wait periods (mask drying, etc). The same person did the massage and the facial and I appreciated not having to change rooms between the two. I was not asked to upgrade my services or pressured to buy a membership during the services, which is something I was very worried about after reading reviews-- it was nice to be able to relax while I was being pampered and not have to continuously turn down upgrade offers. At the conclusion of the services, the woman at the front desk did a mini sales pitch for a massage membership, but it was not very pushy and she did not give me a hard time when I declined. Bought a Groupon offer for a massage. New to the area so wanted to see if a no frills place worked. They insisted the massage would be soft pressure only and medium was an up charge. This was asked for only after laying naked on the table. Then I was told "no" to medium pressure twice. It was a great time if you just imagine past massages and not the hover hands of a 16 yr old virgin in a group photo. Wow! This was the least relaxing spa experience my husband and I ever had. From the moment we entered, the owner began a hard sell to get us to become members. Within the first 5 minutes of my massage the therapist tried to upsell me every possible service, from expanded time to oils to cupping. I was more tense after the massage than I was before it thanks to these hard sell tactics. To add insult to injury, they upgraded my husband to a meridian massage ($110 vs $69) because the therapist decided that's what he needed. However she neglected to tell him it was an up charge. Bought a Groupon for an hour-long massage. The rooms are not soundproofed well, as you can hear people walking down the hallway and talking through the doors. However, the massage was good and I felt relaxed. Afterward, the manager talked me into buying 5 massages for like $250 or something like that. The hard sell was off-putting, but it was a good deal, so I did it. The next massage was the weirdest EVER. Very non-technical. Like somebody paid ME to give a massage because I'm not trained to do it. Woman actually sat on the edge of table (unprofessional), and at the end she massaged my EARLOBES and then stuck her fingers IN MY EARS. Like laugh out loud weird. I would not have been surprised at all if she started tracing the alphabet with a hair brush; it was that bad. My husband told me not to go back. But stupidly, I didn't want a paid-package go to waste. So last week, I went again and tell them I do not want the same person as last time. The manager told l me she no longer works there. That massage was also a very unskilled-feeling massage, but so hard I'm ready to cry. Like she thought my vertebrae are tension knots she needs to dig out. I told her to stop and go lighter, which she kinda did, but then went right back to digging into my bones. Then, she JUMPED UP ON THE TABLE and straddled me to give me the weirdest Indian-burn friction back and forth treatment right above my rear. It was awful. We were hesitant since they were able to take us immediately when all the other spas were booked for days and the reviews were 5 stars or 1. We were both pleasantly surprised! I first came here bc my boyfriend bought me a spa package for my birthday. I was a bit skeptical, but tried it anyways. He purchased it through groupon and it was a 2 hour massage and facial combo. The massage went fairly well, I was a bit annoyed that the masseuse was pressuring me to upgrade my massage to a deep tissue, I caved but didn't feel like she was actually doing deep tissue after maybe 15 min. The facial was pretty good, I've never had one before so it was a new experience. She did a very thorough job and I was satisfied. When I checked out, the manager Jimmy was there and asked if I wanted to purchase additional packages for a lower price, they were a bit persistent and I ended up buying 3 more massage and facial packages, and bc I though it was a good price. Since then I came back for another massage and facial and had a different masseuse, she was a little better, again pressured me to upgrade my massage but I declined this time, she persisted for a little more but got the point after awhile. The facial went well again, this time they did a blackhead extraction for me. I've never had it done before but I have very stubborn blackheads and I've tried everything and couldn't get rid of it, though it was very painful, she was able to extract a good amount (we had to stop bc it hurt too much) and I was very happy with the results. For my first visit I purchased a groupon- 2 massages & facials for $100 (one hour for each service which is an amazing deal). Yes, they do try to offer you more services for extra charges but all you have to do is say no. At times they may be hard to understand but they are really sweet. I have gone with my sister and this last time when I took my mom, she absolutely loved it. The place is rather small but very personal. When you choose a couples massage you are led into the room where you have two massage tables parallel to each other. You can undress and place your belongings in the shelves. They give you the option between a Swedish or deep tissue massage, I always get the Swedish. They really focus on your back and legs which I enjoy because I stand and work for 12 hours shifts. As for the facial, I guess everyone who has commented here, has never been to the dermatologist because they actually do many things in one. Yes they pick on your face but it's to flatten any pimples and remove the black/white heads you may have. The cooling mask at the end definitely helps. Was feeling the stress of the holidays, so decided to get a spur of the moment massage. I had a 90 minute deep tissue with Ann. She was excellent. There were a few amenities missing: The lotion was not scented and I was not given the option to add aromatherapy. :(( They also did not put a bolster under my legs. I did not see one in the room. Also, the music should have been more spa like. It was odd and could barely be heard. Other than that, the massage was excellent! She worked every muscle on my body, concentrating on my back and neck, which I badly needed. Ann also did a fantastic job on my hips and glutes. She was so good a few times I got close to calling mercy. I mentioned briefly when I checked in but there was a lot of commotion at the time. I then sat waiting 15 minutes for my appointment; waiting area was quiet so he could have confirmed the type of massage I wanted. Nope. Person who did massage was very nice and did a good job, but had limited english. I asked part way through about the stone part of the massage and she told me that the manager had not told her. I talked to the manager on my way out (while paying taxes); he insisted that I had to tell the person doing my massage (who never asked and had been told instructed by him). He then was extremely pushy trying to get me to sign up for more massages despite the fact that he was not listening to me nor the least bit apologetic (mistakes happen- recognize, and apologize). I went here today with my sister-in-law for some bonding time. We had the Living Social deal for 2 people, where each of us gets a 1 hour massage and 1 hour facial for around $110, before gratuity. It was so worth it! The place was quiet, clean, and prettily, but simply decorated. The two attendants put me and my sister-in-law in one room together and proceeded to roll out all of our knots from top to bottom. They were very professional and attentive while my we chatted and caught up. And they didn't push any services or upselling on us at all. The facial was wonderful too. I have never had a professional facial before, so I can't compare to other services, but both of us found this to be exhilarating because we had just gotten body massages and now they were massaging our faces! The cleansers and pore openers and steam treatment and creams were great too, but I really loved just having my face and neck massaged out. After our treatment, we went out to tip, and the manager Jimmy was there. He was very eager to sell us a package. They were also very clean, washing their hands throughout my two hour session which is greatly appreciated. The Swedish massage was the best I have gotten so far because it actually FELT like a massage and not someone just rubbing lotion on my body for an hour which is a waste of money in my opinion. Terrible. My wife and I got the Groupon for two. We each got a 1 hour Facial and 1 hour massage. Only cost 72 bucks which on account of a Groupon sale. Sounds great? We thought so but boy were we wrong!! We were supposed to have a choice of Swedish or hot stone however we were only offered Swedish or deep tissue for an upcharge. The Massage consisted of lots of rubbing rather than massage. I have had many massages and this was the worst. There is no way the massuese had any training whatsoever. My wife was freezing in the room and given a thin blanket. After less than an hour it was time for the facial. Again lots of rubbing of my face with different lotions and goop. Never told what she was doing or using. She proceeded to rub the goop into my eyes which gave me blurry vision until the next day!. At one point she put some type of mask on then left the room for 10 minutes. We could hear them sweeping and emptying garbage in the other rooms. After all said and done they charged me 7 dollars for "tax". I paid it not realizing it doesn't make any sense. If I owed tax it would be on 72 dollars which is $5.04. Would never go back! read more
