I recently had a massage with Diane and can confidently say she is the absolute best masseuse I have ever been to--and I have visited high-end spas all over the world. Her expertise is truly unmatched. Diane was incredibly attentive, maintained the perfect pressure (right off the bat!), and was a pleasure to talk to. Crucially, she recommended additions that made a meaningful, impactful change to my body. I was in a lot of pain prior to the massage, and I left the facility feeling utterly amazing and restored. The facility itself greatly contributed to the experience. The overall environment is very calming. The locker rooms are very nice, and I appreciate that a shower is available. The waiting room is a wonderful, thoughtful touch; the combination of tea, a heated shoulder wrap, and coloring books is a perfect way to relax before the service starts. Came here with a friend for a girls' date. It was my first time at this location, and I was not disappointed with my experience. Upon first impression, when you walk in, the lobby is small, but cute, relaxing and inviting. The employees greeted us with smiles and brought over the paperwork they needed me to fill out as a new client. I will say I was surprised by the details some of the questions paid attention to - what scent lotion would you like, what music would you like, level of conversation you would like with your massage therapist, etc - in addition to the standard questions regularly asked. Once I was done with the paperwork, I was directed to a designated room to change into a robe and slippers and wait to be called in by my massage therapist. Once I was inside, my massage therapist was excellent. She took her time and paid attention to the areas I identified as "problem areas" needing extra TLC. It was definitely worth every penny. Overall, my experience here was a 10/10. This isn't the closest Spavia location to me, but they set the bar very high, so I'm excited to check out the one near me and see how it goes. read more

I've been a member for two years and have always loved the estheticians and their facial services. However, my experience with canceling my membership has been frustrating, and I still have two months of membership credits that the spa will not honor. In November, I was informed via text that the card I typically use for auto payments had issues, and they hadn't been able to process payments since October. At that time, there were still two unused credits in my account from previously paid monthly fees. Since I no longer frequent the area, I decided to cancel my membership and scheduled two appointments--one for myself and one for a friend--to use up the remaining credits. The team sent me a form to complete for cancellation but provided no further information on how the process worked or how it would affect my unused credits. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to complete the form until December. After submitting it, I was informed by customer service that my credits had already expired because my membership had been terminated due to missed payments. To use the scheduled appointments and the unused credits, I was told I'd need to pay the monthly fees for the past two months to reactivate my membership. I find this policy unreasonable for several reasons: Lack of Transparency: The spa claims the cancellation policy and the impact on unused credits were communicated via the contract I signed at the time of enrollment. However, I have no copy of this contract, and it's unreasonable to expect customers to remember fine print from two years ago without periodic reminders. Loyalty Should Be Valued: As a loyal customer, I believe I should have been reminded about the risk of losing unused credits if I didn't continue payments. A simple courtesy reminder could have avoided this situation entirely. Poor Customer Service: Throughout my communication with customer service, there were no apologies or acknowledgment of the miscommunication. Instead, I was repeatedly told I needed to pay past dues to access the credits, which felt dismissive and transactional. I'm extremely disappointed that such a customer-centric service would handle membership cancellations and credit policies this way. I hope this feedback helps others in the future. read more

I've been coming to Spavia for years for both massages and facials, and I can confidently say that the massage I received today from Nadia was the best I've had in recent memory--if not ever. Her technique was exceptional, and she brought a calm, focused energy that made the entire experience incredibly restorative. I let her know that I workout often with some pretty intense workouts, and she was quickly able to identify my problem areas and took her time to work them out. I left feeling significantly looser, deeply relaxed, yet somehow also re-energized. Nadia is a true professional and an outstanding therapist and generally, just a real treasure of a person. We had traveled to the area and had planned on getting a massage at the spa at our hotel. Upon arrival, we were told their masseuse had quit and had not yet been replaced. Queue us looking for an alternative where we found Spavia. When I called to see about making an appointment for a couple's massage, the receptionist was so friendly and helpful! My fiance has a genetic skin condition that can make some people uncomfortable. As this would be his first massage ever, I wanted to make sure it was a pleasant experience for him. When I mentioned it and my concerns, she assured me that it wouldn't be a problem. She asked when we'd like to come in and I jokingly asked, "How about today?" not thinking she would have a same-day opening for a couple. She said they did and got us scheduled. When we arrived, we were able to choose from a number of scents for our lotions and were able to specify our preferences for the massage down to the type of music we wanted. The masseuses were so welcoming and took plenty of time to ask about trouble areas or concerns before we got started. The massages themselves were wonderful! They allowed us time afterwards to just "be" for a bit before we got up to don our robes. We were met outside of the room with a cup of cold water (tea is also an option) which was very refreshing. The experience was so nice and relaxing, we both returned to the real world with smiles that lasted a few days. If we lived anywhere nearby, we would return as often as possible. If we're in the area again, we will definitely be back! We'd both happily recommend Spavia Day Spa in Cedar Knolls, NJ. read more

The woman who did my massage, Ashley, was fantastic. She was very nice and did an excellent job. The two women working the front desk, however, made my blood pressure go up before I even got in the massage room. Upon entering, nobody was at the front desk. One of the women came out from wherever they were and asked how I liked my service. It hadn't happened yet. The other woman with the glasses made sure I understood I had to complete the initial questions on the iPad. None of these answers were communicated with Ashley, so why did I bother answering them? When I got into the locker room to change, I asked the woman what size the robe was. I don't like anything to be tight. She looked at me and said "it is the biggest size we have. It should fit you." I let it go in that moment, but I am way more comfortable just changing in the actual massage room than sitting in a huge, hot, velour spa robe that isn't a good fit for my body. At the end of the appointment, I paid and the woman at the desk showed me a display with suggested tips for the services. She reminded me twice which service I received. I know which service I received. I made the reservation and paid for it. Overall, the visit was fine. Ashley was nice. The two women working the front desk needed a brush up on how to talk to people and making sure their little Google Forms actually went to the working employees. 3.5 stars read more

5 star massage, 3.5 stars for their operations. This was my first time here to get a massage (they do currently have a new client discount, but only Mon-Thurs, so that was a bummer since I came on a Saturday). Ashley O was excellent. I came in because I slept weird and my neck was hurting me to the point where it was hurting to turn it from side to side. Ashley found the points that needed work done and now my neck feels sooo much better. As far as the spa itself goes- I think they would benefit from a larger location. The lobby is quite small. It does seem they have a lot of massage and facial rooms. The bathroom has 1 toilet and 1 shower and when I was there for my appointment on a Saturday there were quite a few girls with me. They have a retreat room, which is where you wait to be picked up by your massage therapist. It's a very small room with seating and a salt lamp with nice music playing. I was sitting with about 4 other people and it felt a bit cramped and didn't feel relaxing. The check in form with a preference section is a nice concept, but it wasn't really utilized. They ask questions such as: what music do you want played (I selected island getaway, but the music didn't sound tropical or island-like, haha), what pressure amount do you like (I selected medium, but my therapist asked me what pressure do I want), do you like tea or water after the massage (I said tea, but tea was not offered), and also you can pick a scent of the body lotion you want (I picked some island one, but I couldn't really smell if it was the one or not). Listen, I don't care if I have space, nature, or beach music- I'm just saying if you're going to have a form like that people will be looking out for those things. Music and tea aside, I do feel the facility was very clean and decorated nicely. The temperate of the room was perfect and the massage bed was heated to a good temperature. She helped my body stretch, paid good attention to hands and feet once I turned over, and I just feel so good right now!!! If I lived in this state I would see her monthly. My husband and I were getting away from our two children for less than 24 hours for a babymoon staycation. I was looking forward to try this place as it has great reviews and we live right down the street. We wanted a couples massage and had made reservations about a week before. I received a text message the day before and confirmed our appointment. The morning of I received another message saying one masseuse was out and I would have a male and a female masseuse instead (we originally requested two females). That was fine with us. When we arrived at the spa, the front desk was confused. They had no appointment. I showed my text messages and confirmations. The front desk was extremely unhelpful and unapologetic. They made it seem like I made it up or something. They were able to find an appointment for the next day at a completely different time that didn't work for us. I guess a staff member changed it without letting us know? Anyway, we walked out very disgruntled. The front desk didn't really seem to care or make it right. I sent a message asking for a manager to call me. I have yet to hear anything. We were looking forward to trying this place for the first time as we are neighbors and would come again, but I have an extremely bad taste in my mouth now. We hardly get the time to be alone together as we have two other children, another on the way, and childcare is infrequent. This was the highlight to "our babymoon" and needless to say we were very disappointed. We hope that there is some sort of acknowledgment and the business can make this better for us. Update: The manager contacted me to apologize and comp services. I'm still waiting to hear back and make an appointment but I appreciate the follow up and accountability. I have received a lot of massages in my life, but he is the first one who actually really listens to what areas I have told him to focus on and goes above and beyond to treat them. He is extremely knowledgeable and easy to communicate with regarding pressure throughout the massage. Had a service booked for today- I woke up not feeling well. Tested positive for Flu and immediately advised the spa this morning that I had a fever and could not make today's appointment. I asked to reschedule to another date and was advised they would be strictly enforcing the same day cancellation policy and they MAY provide a refund if I call and speak to a manager tomorrow. I asked if they would prefer me to attend the service knowing I tested positive for flu and was advised I should wear a mask or else they would be charging me the 50 percent service fee- this is after the employee tried to reach her manager unsuccessfully. This place is very poorly run and I would never recommend going here. To make matters worse, the employee told me I should have known yesterday I had flu. Absolutely disgraceful establishment. Anyone who has ever had flu knows it comes on very rapidly and without warning. This place should be ashamed. My credit card was charged for the service. I will be disputing the charge. read more

Totally recommend Tristen for prenatal massage, great pressure and very attentive. Totally would come back again. I forgot my hair tie to tie up my hair. Also the spa doesn't have one of those massage table with holes for the belly and chest so it's side massages and on your back but still very nice. read more

This spa was amazing! Upon entry I was welcomed in by the staff to fill out a few forms and choose my scent for the lotion that would be used (they all smelled great). After I completed my forms, I was walked into the locker room which was very clean. The lockers were roomy enough to fit my outfit and other belongings, and I felt comfortable leaving everything there because you were able to create a personalized code for the locker. After the locker room there is another waiting room that was super nice, there was complimentary tea and water along with warmed neck pillows. Once my therapist (Diane) was ready for me, she came and got me and walked me into my room. Diane was amazing! She was super accommodating and made me feel very comfortable. Before the massage we briefly talked about where I was experiencing pain the most and the pressure I was looking for during my massage. I appreciated that she made sure the pressure was okay throughout the entirety of the massage because different areas of the body can tolerate different levels of pressure. Overall the staff was amazing, the salon was clean and calming, and Diane gave me a great massage. I will definitely be visiting again and would recommend! read more

I'll start with a more generalized review of Kelly who is fantastic month after month. She knows what my skin needs and makes great recommendations. It always super relaxing and I pretty much fall asleep every time. More specifically this past week I was really on a time crunch but was desperate for a hydroderm. I let her know this on my way to the room and she was able to accommodate like an absolute champ. My bridal shower was the following day and she customized to make my skin glow!! 1) You need hydraulic tables ... cranking up/down table is very disruptive 2) you need area rugs under /around table .... therapist shoes / steps were very noisy... again disruptive. 3) my therapist apparently has loud breathing issues ... possibly deviated septum 4) despite me telling him my problem areas, (legs/back) he spent way too much time on my feet perhaps because he was sitting ..... it was obvious he was very tired because he was yawning a lot.
