The stylist who cut my hair did a good job, but the blowout was terrible. Frizzy, curly in the root. I told her I wasn't happy and even suggested her what type of brush to use for the sides and other tips. She said she was going to fix it with a flat iron. Any hairstylist should be able to smooth your hair using a blow dryer and a round brush unless you have frizzy, kinky or damaged hair. In my 50 years, I have never asked another stylist to fix someone else's work so this was a first for me. The next stylist did a good job but I feel I left the salon with a fried head. Please note that my hair is thin, not corse or curly. This could have been avoided. I am not disclosing their names and I might not go back. Just not the great experience others have raved about.

The spa is situated in the rooms of an old Victorian house and has a homey feel. Jen gave the best massage I've ever had, 5 stars! My esthetician failed to introduce herself and, while the service did good things for my skin, her clunky heeled shoes and rapid, noisy movements ruined my post-massage relaxation and made the service feel rushed. She also provided too-vigorous shoulder and foot massages which I had to ask her to stop. Overall this facial experience was 2 stars. Mani pedi was lovely and relaxing with Hilda, also a 5 star experience. There are no shower or locker room facilities, but I was given a robe and a tote for my stay. The facial and nail services also include hefty doses massage, so I'd ask the massage therapist to skip those areas and focus on shoulders or back instead to maximize your massage minutes! In spite of my lackluster facial experience, I would try this spa again with a different provider or just skip the facial.
