We met Jennifer when we selected her to sell my mom's home in Austin when my mom could no longer manage to take care of it. That sale went off without a hitch. A few years later, we found a home in an over 55 community in the DFW area but could not purchase it until our home outside of Leander sold. We asked Jennifer if she knew of a solution to buying the townhome before we sold our current property. Jennifer recommended we contact a company that would buy the home in north Texas and rent it to us until we sold our home, which was a great financing option. We didn't have to make any rent payments until we closed on our home and used those proceeds to close on the DFW house. Throughout our home buying process, Jennifer was incredibly communicative. She promptly answered calls, texts and emails, keeping us informed about every development. She even contacted us after 10PM with our consent. We don't know when she gets any rest. Her ability to clearly explain contract details was particularly helpful. We were impressed by Jennifer's negotiation skills. She managed to lower the asking price significantly in the north Texas home, saving us thousands. Jennifer is a very knowledgeable realtor. She knows the Austin market well. There are two parts possibly three to a real estate transaction I have learned in buying my first home and working with Jennifer. The first part of the transaction is picking a realtor, seeing houses, and putting in an offer and then closing. Overall I would give her four stars for this. I would give her minus is a star because of the pressure to go with the financing company other than the one I wanted to go to. I believe this was unnecessary. Otherwise she seems to do pretty well at showing and getting me into the offer process. Once I was locked into the bid her communication style completely changed. We no longer had conversations. I no longer received return phone calls rather everything was done by text for the most part. I am a first time home buyer so I had lots of questions and I had really hoped to have some return phone calls. After a while it began to feel personal that there were long delays and texts versus a live call and or acknowledgment or answers. Then I got the house. Hooray! It needed some work done. I went with the contractor so she suggested. This contractor was the contractor from hell. He was aggressive and confrontational. He lied and cheated and did a terrible job that it will cost me quite a bit of money to rehire people to fix. I literally begged Jennifer for help trying to navigate this contractor from hell. She basically put it right back on me. Her help was very minimal and she wasn't available. It was a horrifying experience - one that I'm still traumatized by and trying to clean up months later. She inferred that it was me. Well some other random person contacted me and said she had the same exact problems with this contractor. So it isn't me. But Jennifer's complete lack of compassion, effort, and guidance and how to navigate an unscrupulous recommendation she provided was appalling and disturbing. Everyone I know was asking me what my realtor was doing to help me and she was literally not doing much. Another part of the transaction is the disclosure from the seller. Realty Austin represented both of us the buyer and the seller. Different agents, same company. It has come to my attention through neighbors that there was a pretty major issue with the house that was not disclosed by the seller. And once again Jennifer was mostly missing in action. Hard to have a telephone conversation with her, only wanted to text or email, but I had lots of questions, of course. I did not find her helpful in the least. I have to go above her head. I'm sure I'll have more questions moving forward. But I won't be able to ask them from her because once she has sold you a house that's the end of her helpfulness in my experience. She basically went from being amazing to being pretty awful. She has not shared much of her knowledge on how to navigate these situations. She's really hard to get a response from. I don't trust her to have my best interest in mind. It's really unfortunate. She could've been awesome all the way through, but she wasn't. read more

After having a poor experience with a different realtor in Austin a friend referred me to Jen, and the difference was night and day. It was immediately apparent that Jen is a realtor because she genuinely loves the business and that she truly cares about her clients. She wants to make sure you are getting the best deal possible. She listened to what I was looking for in a home, which for me was a home that I wanted to only hold for a few years and that I saw it more as an investment rather than a forever home, and she analyzed each home according the guidelines I gave her in what I was looking for. Jen was involved every step of the way and even helped narrow down results online before going to look in person. She was extremely attentive and would text or email me if she hadn't heard from me in a while, which helped me to stay on top of my search. Her responses to my texts/ emails were always within a few hours if not immediate. With each house we would visit, she would be inspecting it as intently as I was and was honest about her opinion of the worth of each home. If I liked a home, she would have past reports/inspections, flood mapping and sales history sent to me within a few hours and again would give her honest opinion of it's worth. When it got to negotiations, she made sure to get me more money back then I thought possible in terms of price of the home and repair gifts from the seller to go towards closing costs. I was impressed with Jen throughout every step of the home buying process and I honestly can't even imagine that a better realtor exists. I must disclose that I've worked with real estate pro's in Austin that have been very good, purchasing 8+ houses prior to working with Jen. So I guess you could say I'm a very experienced buyer. HOWEVER, I have never seen the intellect applied to real estate that Jen applies to her business. In this super hot market in Austin, you need the best, and I'm convinced that Jen is the very best in real estate. I'm only too glad to write this review of a 5 star experience. Let me tell you why: Me and my wife told Jen that we were looking for a house. From Jen's notifications we saw the ideal house that just listed on a Friday evening. But no matter how much we knew this was the perfect place for us, we also knew there was a high probability we were going to lose it to multiple bids as it was at the very edge of our budget. Austin is a highly competitive market if you haven't figured that out yet. So within 1.5 hours of the house listing we had an offer over to the sellers agent on a Friday night. Not only that, but Jen 'closed the deal' by getting the contract 'locked in' before midnight that night. Yes, Jen works on Friday night and not only had the offer to them within an hour and a half, but was able to lock in the contract prior to it going to multiple bids on Saturday morning! So on Saturday morning we drive by the house that Jen just locked in for us and we saw all the other 'bidders' that were looking it over. Needless to say, we were relieved as we already had it under contract! My family can't thank you enough Jen!!! read more
