When we started looking for a house we figured it would end up being just like the first time, difficult. I was the one having to reach out asking about properties that had been listed for a couple days and then work to make our schedule accommodate our current realtor so we could see houses. Five years later, we decided it was time for an upgrade. We were nervous about all the work it was going to take, but we really wanted to move. I looked around and saw all the great reviews for Mark Strub and his team, I decided to take the chance with them and it was an awesome decision. Mark came out very quickly and looked over our house since we were looking at buying a new house and then selling our old house once we had moved. He gave us some pointers on what we should update or do to the house to help it sell faster. We got a couple lender recommendations and he answered all our questions. We knew that buying a house was going to take at least a month since we were doing some financing. So, we started looking for new houses right away, Mark recommended one of his agents that specializes in North Austin. Here is where our journey with Stewart begins. From the get-go Stewart was responsive to any questions or viewings we want to see. He came to our house to look at it and gave us some estimates on what it would potentially sell for when we were ready to put it on the market. He was interested in knowing what we wanted in a house and probably knew what we wanted more than we did! He was knowledgeable in what to look for that may be "issues" with a house later and what would end up being a money sink or a quick fix. He also had that sense of urgency for us to view houses, since most in our price range were going selling very quickly. He obviously knows this business very well. We found an amazing house that was slated to pick an offer a week from when it was listed. We went and looked at it the day it was listed and loved it. We decided to look at other houses before we put an offer in, since we had a week (famous last words..). A few days later, Stewart called us with a sense of urgency. He had been watching the listing and the wording had changed and didn't say when they would accept offers. He had called the other agent and found out they were picking an offer that night. So, at 9PM that night, Stewart called us and walked us through the offer we wanted to put in on the house and answered any questions we had and then submitted it. Stewart let us know, that it may be a few days before we hear and that we can continue to look at houses for a backup, if we wanted. However, the sellers made the decision quickly and chose our offer. I also want to point out that the customer had several cash offers, but chose to go with our offer even though we were financing. I highly believe this is due to Stewart and his advice to us when putting the offer in and the letter that he had us write to the sellers (he also wrote one as well). The lending process was not smooth unfortunately. There were a couple issues that came up. We were trying to close on a Friday (instead of the Monday, which is at 30 days), but due to these issues we were not able to close on Monday. Stewart worked with us and the lenders to get as much resolved as possible (like going to the IRS office to get tax documents that weren't ordered). The lenders were very apologetic about the situation and I know that Stewart was doing everything he could as well to resolve the situation and was very understanding when I needed to vent about the situation. Then we moved in and started the process to sell our house. This went extremely smooth. We posted our house, sold it, and had the money in our bank in 11 days. The original buyer was going to finance, but then switched to an all cash offer and Stewart helped explain everything we needed to know and do with such a fast closing. I believe that a lot of the improvements (we talked with them about) in conjunction with a great market, helped us sell our house that quickly. I can't imagine having done either the buy or the sell without Stewart and as long as he is still a realtor, I never will! read more

Mark and the entire Strub team were amazing to work with from start to finish, and it has been a long journey for us - buying a new home and selling our previous one. We started working with Mark as our buyer agent, he was referred to us by our mortgage broker Atif Ahmad of Adelo Mortgage, who I also highly recommend btw. My wife and I are very particular and Mark was extremely patient with us. Mark understands what a big deal finding a new home is for a family. We probably looked at 30 properties before we found one that we wanted to buy. This first house we made an offer on was accepted, but we decided to back out during the option period. After looking for another month or so we found what we thought was a great house, maybe the perfect house, for our family. With Mark's help we made an offer that was also accepted. This time we found major foundation problems during a second structural inspection. We were very disappointed and sadly we had to back out of another contract. Mark did not ever act disappointed even though we knew he had put tons of work into this deal. By this time it had been several months and my wife and I decided to take a break. Mark was always positive that we would find something else even better, and he never made us feel rushed (unless there was good reason to hurry, then he'd let us know!) He was very understanding of our disappointment and desire to press pause. He said he would be available at a moment's notice if we wanted to look at a property and all of the Strub online tools helped us keep track of new listings and possibilities during our "hiatus." It was on our third try several months later that Mark once again helped us craft an offer that would be accepted. 3 for 3 in this very competitive central Austin market. I doubt there are many realtors that can pull that off. You want Strub on your side when you find the house that you want. We successfully closed on our new home and when it came time to move in we had unexpected issues with the condition of the home. When the sellers became difficult Mark handled the situation expertly and diplomatically. Even though it was technically a "done deal" Mark worked with us to make sure all issues were resolved. When it came time to sell our house we of course enlisted Mark and his team. We had never sold a home before and we were somewhat nervous and anxious to get the place sold. Mark was once again both uber-professional and easy to work with. On a street where several properties hit the market at the same time earlier this summer, ours sold first. We had a solid offer within two weeks. Negotiations once again were skilled and fair. This transaction went more quickly and smoothly than I ever expected it to. Everyone at Strub was great at every step of the process. Especially Kristina who helped with the logistics of repairing and staging the house to be sold. If Mark wasn't available (it wasn't often) there was always a courteous professional to step in. My husband and I recently purchased our first home in Central Austin; and it could not have been possible without the help of Mark Strub and his team at Strub Residential. We started looking at the housing market in Austin, when my husband was made Associate Professor at UT, Austin; and we had pretty much a few months to plan and execute our move. We recently went through the process of relocating from the Bay Area to Austin and what was undoubtedly the best decision we made was working with Mark and his team at strüb residential. I need to update my review because the original review was going through the home buying process with Strub and now I'm going through the selling process as well. Eric Pugatch is still the REAL DEAL. He shined during the home buying process and shined even more during the selling process! To start, he works with you to figure out how much you're willing to put into the house that you're ready to list. He'll make his recommendations (it's always small things that make a big impact), but is open to working with you and won't push on things unless he REALLY feels like it would impact list price significantly at a smaller cost. He is still ultimately respectful of your decision and will be candid about how he can work with what you decide. My husband, Eric, Mark and I agreed to how much we'd be willing to put into the house and for what list price and we all had a consensus. Eric worked tirelessly in getting quotes, scheduling upgrades and handling the whole process behind the scenes and got it all tackled in only 2 weeks. I would ABSOLUTELY trust his input on what things you need to do because not only was our house a "hot home" on Redfin and various websites, but we had tremendous traffic and got an incredible offer on our home (much more than we thought we would). Eric also went out of his way to handle reducing quotes from vendors so we can stay within budget (and brought us well below the budget we agreed to) AND handled any issue we had with a vendor. Additionally, there were a few small things we didn't feel would make as big of an impact and Eric heard us out and if he agreed, he removed them from our list and if he didn't he explained why and offered us comps to show why he felt that it would make a bigger impact. We would trust him with blindfolds on. He was an incredible agent during the buying process and somehow outshined himself on the listing end of it. Moving on to Strub Residential and his staff. The office is well run - you feel informed and prepared from start to finish. Catherine is AMAZING in guiding you through the listing process and Mark is always involved behind the scenes (and I need to mention again that he is the nicest human I have ever met... seriously.) My husband and I didn't think we had more great things to say after our wonderful home buying process, but we needed to rave more about Eric and Strub Residential after going through the listing/selling process. Our home hunt and purchasing experience with Mark at Strüb Residential was absolutely wonderful! We found Mark via Yelp and the many excellent reviews he had received. And all of the reviews rang true! Mark was incredible to work with, and helped us in buying our very first home. Mark is very professional, down to earth, easy to talk to, completely approachable, patient, informative, and knowledgeable about the very competitive Austin market. TL;DR - Mark is someone who truly cares about his clients and wants to ensure you have the best possible home buying experience. Being first time home buyers, my wife and I had struggled to find a realtor that we liked based on recommendations of friends and family. On a whim, I thought I'd see who Yelp thought was a good realtor and stumbled upon Mark. I couldn't believe it was possible for anyone or anything to have this many 5 star reviews on Yelp (this is the internet after all), but after my experience, I can verify that these reviews are very deserved by Mark and his team. Mark was very patient in both answering all the questions that two first time home buyers might have as well as showing us far more houses than is typical. He was great at providing all sorts of useful information regarding issues to look for in the house, items that might need to be fixed, things that might make the house more difficult to sell in the future, and any information he knew about the neighborhood. After we were under contract, Mark was extremely helpful in navigating the process as well as dealing with a difficult seller. There are two examples I think stand out from the numerous ways in which Mark helped us through the buying process. One example of Mark's dedication is during a tight timeline to get a signed form submitted, I had several questions as well as a few modifications to be made to the contract. Mark had been very responsive, but suddenly I was having difficulty reaching him. In attempting to reach him, I contacted someone at his office who let me know that his wife had gone into labor earlier in the day and he was at the hospital. Mark still managed to give me a call back an hour later, answer all my questions, and get the form submitted on time which just seems crazy to me. Another example is that we had been worried about a few issues with the A/C and our option period had already expired. The seller had 'fixed' the problem which meant he didn't fix anything and denied part of the problem actually even existed (it did). I met Mark when I was a renter - he's was my landlord's agent when she decided to sell. I worked nights at that time and he went out of his way to be respectful of my weird sleeping hours. As disappointed as I was to have to move, Mark made it as painless for me as possible. When I mentioned being unsure about buying instead of renting again, he got my email address, did a personalized analysis of which would make the most sense for me and sent it the next day. We decided in November 2020 to relocate to Austin, TX from Southern California. Strüb Residential was exactly what we were looking for a boutique, high touch, and highly personalized service approach to buying a home. After an in depth conversation with the firm we were paired with Alex Tapp. We could not have picked a better partner to help us learn the Austin market from afar. He is a patient and knowledgeable realtor who knows the market and trends. Alex was always readily available and responded quickly to all of our inquiries. There is a massive difference in looking at homes online and having someone local who can share insights about many things such as neighborhoods and potential pitfalls to avoid. In a real estate boom town like Austin, it seems like everyone is a "realtor" - a friend of a friend, your yoga teacher, a client's wife... it's easy to feel like you have to work with someone because of a personal connection. When it comes down to such a monumental life decision though, you need to choose a true industry professional, and I would highly recommend Mark. As two full-time working professionals, the last thing that we wanted to do as buyers was run the Austin-rat-race of real estate: having to leave work on a dime to see a newly listed property or get stuck in a multiple offer scenario that pushed our offer beyond our comfort level. Mark found us a pocket listing that met ALL of our criteria in an area with extremely low inventory. We were able to negotiate one-on-one with the seller and come to a fair deal that left everyone feeling gratified. So now it's Sunday and we owned two houses. Mark and his team sprung to action. By the following Saturday, we had our house staged by a professional designer, beautiful real estate photos shot and posted to numerous online outlets, and our house officially on the market. Ashley Jamieson at Strüb Residential is beyond awesome! The process from getting in touch with Ashley and getting in a solid offer for our dream home was in a span of less than 2 weeks. Please note that we were out of state while trying to find our dream home in Austin. While trying to find good realtors online, we stumbled upon Strüb, received an email right away from Kristina and Mark, who introduced us to Ashley. We were planning to be in Austin a week after and Ashley did an introduction/exploratory call with my wife and I, took a note of all our needs and kept us honest on the areas and houses that we could find in our budget. My fiance and I received Alex Tapp's information through multiple friends who previously worked with Alex while buying their homes. We heard high praises and came into the process with high expectations, despite this being our first time purchasing a property. We are both in full agreement that Alex absolutely outperformed the high praise and expectations we had for him. He is an excellent communicator, extremely knowledgeable about Austin and the current real estate climate, and always made himself available for us. We are moving to Austin from out of state and just had 24 hours in town to view properties and make decisions about offers. We also needed to close on our property remotely. Despite all of these challenges, Alex dedicated time to tracking down the best options on the market for us prior to our visit and made himself available on the weekend to show us all of these properties (I think we may have been close to a record of somewhere around 15 or 16 properties in one day). I honestly can't say enough about Mark and his team!!! My husband and I are recent transpants from California, and when we first stating looking around we had no idea where to start or what we really wanted out of an Austin home.... We didn't know if we wanted a big house in the burbs, a bungalow right in the middle of it all, or a bunch of land to build on... we had really had no idea. Mark helped us sort through it all by asking all the right questions and steering our search in the right direction until we ultimately fell for what we now (with bias of course) think is one of the best neighborhoods in Austin. The first day we went out with Mark and Jordan we could tell right away that we were in good hands. Mark is a bottomless pit of knowledge on anything Austin, but was equally helpful when it came to renovation questions, city and neighborhood regulations, and so on and so on. If there was ever anything he didn't know (which in our case rarely happened) he found out and followed up with us on it right away. You can also tell that Mark has a really good reputation around the community; which proved to be very helpful when we needed to get into see something same day that wasn't scheduled, or needed a contractor to meet us at a house for an opinion last minute. We never felt like we were left hanging or like there were things we wanted to see that we didn't get to because of him. His bandwidth is impressive to say the least, he is always on top of it. Due to his reputation, I have to imagine that he was busy working many other clients at the same time as us, but if he was, we certainly couldn't tell. It was my first sell of my first home. I gutted my 1949 bungalow and gave it quite the face-lift. There were a lot of emotions connected to this sell, so I wanted to be sure that I had the best person on the case. I actually wound up letting my first realtor go after reaching out to Mark Strüb of Strüb Residential. He was confident and familiar with the area, and he saw the potential in my home that I saw. He didn't bat an eye when we wanted to list for over $100k of what I purchased for two and a half years prior. The experience of working with Mark and his team was like none other.
