This review is directed at the billing nightmare that I've encountered since concluding my treatment. I had ten 45 minute sessions to rehab a neck injury. I have received bills totaling over $1400 for a daily session and this is even after my insurance has paid the company. I have been able to resolve the billing issue because the company has what is akin to a Ponzi scheme billing system in place. They are affiliated with Dallas Regional Hospital but bills insurance under Prime Healthcare. I have been unable to get a detailed itemized bill from either company. This is beyond frustrating. Please to be sure to get up front cost if you decide to utilize GTC therapists.

DO NOT choose VNA for your loved ones hospice care. My mom has COPD. So she qualified for…read morepalliative hospice care. She fell and cracked Vertebrae. I called 911. I called hospice. They told me they had to revoke her care with them because she went into the hospital...not true. They only have to revoke care if the patient goes into the hospital to be treated for the SAME chronic illness that qualified them for hospice... My mother was on hospice because of her chronic COPD. She went to the hospital because she fell. I pointed that out, then they backtracked and said they had to cancel her care so Medicare would pay for it....again, not true. Because it was a Medicare approved hospice program Medicare would have paid. And did. They assured me on Wednesday they would reinstate her, absolutely no problem. And a nurse would call me. By Friday, no call. I left several messages with the hospice nurse the hospice social worker manager and a general number because my mom was going to run out of her blood pressure medication as well as some other medication... All of which I explain to them on Wednesday... The social worker manager waited till Friday evening at 6 o'clock to call me to tell me they were not taking mom back as a patient! (I'm sure it's not coincidence that our social worker left the agency the pastor left the agency the back up Nurse left the agency and Social worker manager was having to take over MOM social workers case load. And manage all the social workers. And she just happen to be the one to decide not to take mom back. She wanted to get rid of that extra case load. And they started with my mom.) They left me with no Doctor No care and no prescription refills!!! On a Friday night at 6pm!! Then the executive director called me. After I caught her in her third lie, she got so flustered she refused to continue the conversation......please!!! There are so many hospice programs that are fully staffed and can actually care for their patients the way they should be care for... Do not under any circumstances trust your loved ones care to these people!!! They have no business in the medical field much less the hospice field!!!! (The only reason I left one star is because it wouldn't let me post my comments otherwise)

We transferred my father to VNA as I was not at all liking the service he had. He had been in Hurst…read morebut we agreed to change to VNA as he was getting worse from bone cancer and metastasis to the brain. I am a nurse and had always heard great things about VNA. He was started on service at my sisters the week before he became totally in capacitated and was moved to my home for care ( I'm an RN but it was still hard for me). His nurse Bobbie could not have been more caring and helpful. She arranged immediate transfer and 2 hours before he came - the hospital bed , oxygen and all his needs were met and set up. The gentlemen that set up his equipment were patient and quick. I wish I could say he lasted a few weeks but he died after 4 days. But he had a meal with me in the kitchen on Saturday then went to bed and didn't get up... dying on Tuesday. Within a few hours he was gone . Hugo had washed him shaved and gotten him comfortable- he died 1 1/2 hours later. But he looked so clean and comfortable. Bobbie his nurse was right there!! I don't know what I would have done with out her. She and Hugo are God's angels on earth. I will never forget them. Thank you both. And much love to both. Sincerely- The Russell family

My dad has items on his care list that the staff should be doing daily and they rarely get done unless I'm there to complain about it. I can't visit every day to make sure things are done so I worry about him constantly! When you place a loved one in an assisted living, you should have peace of mind that they will be cared for appropriately. This has not been the case! They lost their wellness director and activities director and the staff appears to do as little as possible! I am in search of a new care facility due to the awful care that my parents are receiving!!!

my mom has been in assisted living at avenues on park forest for little over a year, bumpy ride,…read morebut , with much attention with a lot of meetings and complaining , have had some results, however , I will say that due to the frequent turnover and the help of some of the long time employees, its getting better. it has been my experience that most of the assisted living/ memory care are about the same, have some of the same problems etc avenues tries, I do not believe they are just letting it happen, but , lack of staff, turn over, and some bad eggs mixed in, its a constant battle, as with most facilities, avenues is clean, they do care, and they are trying, and they are reasonable, so with all due consideration I give a 3.5 and some of the staff , and u know who u are I give a 5 +. I will keep working with the facility , its not easy moving a elderly parent. I am there almost everyday, as a child or relative u have a responsibity to stay on top and do your part. the food is fair most of the time, do not have the steak, , there are always alternatives to the menu , the soup could be improved, its pretty bad, the activities could use a boost, a happier staff would help, they need to become more engaged with residents, care about them, now , some of the residents use the call button like room service and most do not feel well and can be ugly to staff, but that is part of being old, so this kind of behavior should be met with kindness, if u can't have compassion and be caring , like it was your mom or dad or brother or sister , or whatever, u should try a different profession. so good luck avenues and I will continue to be a part of the community as long as efforts are made and I see improvements a loving daughter
