I was stunned at the cost and got a second opinion from a nearby periodontist. They saw me the day after I called and extracted the tooth for less than the evaluation was to be at Dr Cook's office. I did not receive a thorough exam. I've spent a lot of time in a dentist chair over my 68 years and he may be the worst in just the fact that he didn't communicate with me at all. Hopefully he doesn't treat all his patients like this and maybe he was having a bad day. The dental hygienist was very nice and did a good job. The office personnel were very friendly and helpful. They did tell me my insurance wouldn't cover any of the dental costs but upon returning home home I call BCBS and they do cover 50% even though Ocean Drive Dentistry is not in their group. I don't agree with the added 20.00 for PPE and I wasn't advised of this charge in advance.
