Initially, she was tough to communicate with because she is very particular about what she expects from her tenants. However, after living there for so many years, Rosemary and I were able to understand each other very well. When you tell her about an issue, she will want to know every detail about the occurrence and will send help immediately (she has connections to many repair specialists) to resolve the matter. Furthermore, as long as you keep the place clean and she don't get receive any complaints from the neighbors, Rosemary will not bother you, and you'll be able to live very peacefully. Moreover, the monthly payment must be paid promptly. Overall, she puts a lot of faith and trust in the tenants she chooses to take care of the home. Lastly, Rosemary is a great person. She has a very keen sense of humor, and is a warm, kind person under her hard exterior. Being a young, college student at the time, she was very understanding and gave me a lot of good advice in many areas. She really wants the best for her tenants and hopes to keep a good relationship with them moving forward. I would refer any future prospects looking for a place in San Diego to Rosemary!

I still live in San Diego and Rosemary has told me she is happy to be my landlord in the future. She even offered to help me find a new place, and I appreciate her kindness. We have had a good business relationship and I look forward to doing business with Rosemary in the future. Rosemary is tough on renters who create drama, so if you are inflammatory and unprofessional when you interact with her, she will not put up with it. However, if you are polite and act appropriately, you will not have any problems with Rosemary. Due to the one-star review previously left by Celeste S, I felt compelled to write a counter review, especially because her review actually states my name, as well as others. I find it very inappropriate and passive-aggressive to air out your dirty laundry for a Yelp review. I hope that while you consider all reviews on Yelp, that you would also consider the source. This is exactly why I think Yelp doesn't work for smaller businesses with owners who dont use Yelp consistently, it can hurt their business with disgruntled people, while the owners are not even aware of it due to a generation gap.

I used them to rent a house many many years ago. It doesn't sound like their customer service skills have improved over the years. If you're renting out your property, they might be a good choice because they don't care about renters. If you're renting through them, consider yourself WARNED. They may be nice before you sign the contract, but they totally turn rude and unresponsive when you need something done. When I moved in, of course after paying in full, they continue to send contractors to work on the property. Obviously the house wasn't completely ready to be rented, but I didn't know better to ask about it (who would?). Communication was always UNcourteous, and they even hang up the phone on you. I dealt with Dave and his wife back then. When I gave a notice of not renewing the lease, they treated me like their worst enemy. They're RUDE and NON-caring. They nickel & dime to suck every penny out of your deposit after no maintenance or updates. Seriously, be warned if you're thinking about renting from them. Back when I was in your situation, I didn't even know about Yelp or other review sites if they existed. I know San Diego's housing condition has gotten tougher and tougher, but unless you're completely desperate, calm down and look around and check on realtors' reputation. They're NOT the only realtor, their property is NOT the only one in the area, and most importantly remember that You are a CUSTOMER who should be treated as such. They're NOT doing you any favor, although they try to make you feel that way. I'm really surprised this family is still in business. They don't even treat renters as humans.

When our renters had an issue with the kitchen faucet we had to request several times to have a plumber look at it before John agreed. We almost replaced our 1k faucet 100% under warranty for a $50 fix. For all of these reasons I would not recommend John's services. Old review: John is all about business. As a property manager he's been responsive to us and worked hard to secure a renter in just a couple of weeks. We were super happy that our unit was only vacant for 5 days, saving us a substantial amount of money. We believe John found us a good renter and they signed a lease for almost 2 years. John's management fees are also extremely reasonable. We would highly recommend John for your property management needs.
