Some horses taking shade in the barn on-property, next to where we parked. We counted 16 horses, but there may be more.

Beautiful place! Lots of horses, turkeys, goats, and one dog, and the place was decorated for Halloween, which meant hay bale slides, wooden sculptures, and pumpkins. A variety of things to buy--more than I could list, but lots of salsas, pickles, flowers, jams, and fruits. We ordered cider, donuts, homemade "hot and sweet pickles," seasoned tortilla chips, and medium chunky salsa. The pickles were very good, and they had samples to taste. The cider was alright, but could have used extra spices for flavor. My only negative experience was the customer service; the older man who checked us out was quiet and abrasive, but it didn't impact our experience at all. Overall, a lovely place to go to!

I don't know what I was expecting when I came here. There's really not much... but it is super cute! I came here on a Sunday and got pumpkin donuts and apple cider. The pumpkin donuts were so good - it was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. All the cider donuts I've had have never been like this! 4/5 stars for the donuts!

We went for some warm apples. It's kind of hard to find this time of year at Cidermill as I thought they all used to be warm but maybe not anymore. Anyway, they had cinnamon sugar cake donuts that were warm, but not hot. The girl at the counter was fast and friendly so I would definitely say this place is a good stop at if you want a delicious doughnut that might be warm.

OH MY GOSH THE APPLE CIDER AND DONUTS ARE SO FRESH AND AMAZING. The place is also SUPER CUTE and there are animals that you can pet. It's a very nice place to sit down and enjoy the warm donuts and cider. Their pumpkins are also a very good price for the size!

The summer greens and veggies are wholesome and still-dirty-from-the-field fresh; the winter gives a mix of storage roots and sturdy hoop-house produce. My favorites from the past year have been beets, kale, chard, romanesque (crazy fractal cauliflower), tomatoes, and cucumbers. There's definitely a Michigan cast to the selection; some months it's every bit as colorful as the Full Belly Farm box we got in Berkeley, some months it makes me think of Laura Ingalls Wilder's root cellar with a side of hoop-house lettuce. Everything's from right on the farm (unlike a "farm box" we once got that included bananas). A full share is about right for 3-4 people; we used to get a half share (a full portion each pickup, but only every other week), and we now split a full share with another couple. We haven't ended up with a freezer full of butternut squash (always a danger in Berkeley), but finishing the jalapeños while they're fresh sometimes takes planning. I usually pick up from the Friday morning Old West Side stop on Sunnyside (it's hosted in a customer's driveway); I occasionally get out to the farm itself for the Thursday afternoon distribution, which is just off Joy and makes a good dirt-road bike ride. Winter CSA in Michigan? I wasn't expecting to be impressed, but I am.

The kale is amazing, the spinach is huge, the freshness of everything is unmatched. I've never tasted lettuce like the lettuce I received last week, so fresh and full of flavor I've never known lettuce to have. This farm offers a year round CSA opportunity and we are anxious to experience every season with them. Signing up is super simple and prorated, so signing up now will get you a reduced rate since the weeks have now decreased. You can sign up and pay right on their website which is also full of loads of great information about their mission and how they grow the vegetables you are eating. They also follow all standards set by the National Organic Program and do not use any chemicals or substances that are not allowed under an organic certification, although they have decided not to become certified organic. You have to taste their veggies to really understand the freshness and the taste, it's unbelievably fresh. I believe when they say they strictly stick to the organic standards and am comforted to know that I am feeding my family fresh, healthy, chemical free food! I would definitely recommend a full share to anyone, even if you only have two people in your family. It's easy to go through your veggies in a week. CSA shares are structured as follows: Full Share- pick up every Thursday or Friday at your choice of two locations. Half Share- pick up every OTHER Thursday or Friday at your choice of the same two locations. We currently have a half share and I am going to try and upgrade. BEST CHOICE WE'VE MADE! Thank you SunSeed Farm.

Usually I'm running around Saturday mornings so it's nice to be able to hit a farmer's market later in the day and during the week. They have a nice mix of different produce as well as prepared products. It's great to get Corridor Sausage in my own backyard, love Mindo chocolate from Dexter and I'm thrilled to see them there every week. If I'm feeling like a snack Pilar's Tamales or Good Times Kettle Corn really hit the spot. The Brinary, Seedling (who I used to buy from when I lived in Chicago in their markets), and the Zingerman's creamery are all favorites. Not to mention all the beautiful fresh fruits and veggies. YES. Also--the parking lot rules. If it's too hot to bike or walk it's really nice to roll up and easily find a parking spot without having to pay a meter. It shouldn't matter but it totally does. The Saturday and Wednesday markets in Kerrytown are awesome but I for a few small items I love coming here. Popping in for a tasty eat at the Roadhouse doesn't hurt either! ;)

What a find! This market is the perfect compliment to the Ann Arbor Farmers' Market on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. Instead, it's in the late afternoon / early evening, which is a nice change, and has an easy location good for parking and on the west side of town. The market hosts about 20 local Michigan vendors, and Zingerman's is usually always outside sampling some kind of yummy goodness. There's a nice selection of fruits, veggies and flowers. I usually hit up this market every Thursday on my way home from work and almost never leave empty-handed. Rain or shine, the market is there.
