Prices have become too high and salads are smaller compared to 3-4 years ago.
    Christal P.

I used to love White Lotus salads. I would go to Eastern Market just to buy them. Yesterday was the first time I decided not to support them at Eastern Market. The prices have become exorbitantly high. The "premium salad" is now $16. If you look at my photos from 3 years ago, the regular salads back then were of better quality than the premium salads now. The regular salads are now quite small for $12. Last several times I bought the salad the lettuce wasn't the best. Some were wilted. I've been reading about their expansion and that's usually a sign that quality will be sacrificed for profit.

Fast service and a good selection of pastries. Tried the morning bun, which was good - not too sweet. The pistachio and blackberry croissant was not as flavorful and the croissant lacked the lamination I was looking for in a croissant.

Every week at Eastern Market, White Lotus get a visit from me (especially near the end of the market). Their pastries are super flakey and flavorful and please go out of your way to try flavors you wouldn't expect, because they always manage to bring together these flavors with such knowledge. It always hits the spot. They breads, frozen pastas, cheese, everything is just made with so much care and you can really taste it.

White Lotus Farms is a local farm on the west side of Ann Arbor that grows a variety of organic produce, raises goats, and makes artisan baked goods and skincare products. They sell at the Ann Arbor Farmers Market and at the Eastern Market in Detroit, but I recommend paying their farm a visit if you can---the goats and the two alpacas are super cute! Their croissants are the best ones available in Ann Arbor (far better than Zingerman's and Cannelle). Their seasonal croissant ($4) rotate in flavor every week: some flavors I've enjoyed in the past are matcha cream, berries and creme, and pear and ginger cream. The blueberry cream cheese danish ($4) is also good. I didn't love the cardamom croffle ($4, quite dense and sugary) and the morning bun ($4, too sugary for me), but it might be a good option if you like sweeter pastries. The Oh!s ($4) are very rich; I like the filling in the chocolate one, and I prefer it to the original Cronut at Dominique Ansel. Their bread is good. I recommend their special weekend bakes (~$8), in particular the porridge loaves and the miso seaweed levain. The cinnamon swirl bread ($8) is also great: very cinnamon-y and dense, with a noticeable slightly sour flavor. They mill their own organic flour, which they also have for sale. For country sourdough and whole wheat, my preference is Bird Dog Baking in Ypsi, but after them I think White Lotus makes the best bread in the area. I also like their ginger molasses cookies ($10 for 6 pack), which are quite sweet and chewy. On Saturdays, they have pizza at the farm stand, and (during the summer) they have food trucks or pop-ups at the farm as well. The atmosphere there is peaceful and tranquil, and it's a great way to spend a weekend morning.

BABY. GOATS. Baby goats, you guys!! White Lotus Farms had the cutest, most nuzzly, snuggly baby goats when we were there and that alone would net this place 5 stars from me. But it's also a beautiful farm with tons of seating for spending a lovely afternoon in the country. Plus they carry delicious treats in their farm stand liked coffee, freshly baked bread and pastries (all made on site), fresh cheeses, fresh cut flowers, and a small smattering of produce like micro greens and herbs. Free to visit on Saturday mornings through the afternoon and less than 10 minutes from downtown Ann Arbor but it feels so much further away. In slower months they also offer classes and special events like farm dinners and tastings (check the schedule on their website). Oh, and they take credit/debit!

On a sunny weekend, ewe will find fewer places you'll enjoy more than White Lotus Farms. Ok, I'm kidding. Only about the ewe part. There are mostly goats here, not sheep. It's a short jaunt from downtown A2 but feels peacefully miles away as you pull up to the working farm. It was also a small farmer's market on the day that we visited, with several small tents selling fresh-baked bread, a variety of goat cheeses and cheese spreads, and some coffee, among other things. I bought a mile Havarti-like goat cheese before venturing over to the real attraction, the goats! There were several small kids in the pen, and close enough that you could pat them. Their fur is as soft as down feathers at this age, and they didn't seem to mind the small crowds at all. In the larger back enclosure, goats of all ages roamed, climbed, munched grass, and came on over to see who was visiting. The older ones especially seemed to like being scratched behind their ears! For a taste of something new, ewe've just got to check it out!

An idyllic spot. Farmer's Market available on Weds. and Sat. I would go more for the baked goods and coffee with time to walk their farm-like grounds. Kids can watch the koi pond and feed the goats and alpaca.

Is there anything lower than five stars for this place? Baby goats? A beatific coy fish pond? Temple? Fresh pastries and Coffee? Not a loss of happiness in sight. Also unique pastries like cannoli stuffed croissant.

If you wanna escape the hustle and bustle of city but don't feel like driving too far then this place would be a perfect choice. This place is so calm and would help u relax and re-energize yourself. Kids would absolutely love this place as there are lot of goats and a fish pond. They have lot of fresh produce like cheese,Spices, bread , meat and Croissants. Plain croissants ($3) is pretty good but not much of chocolate in the chocolate croissant($3.50).You can order pizza around 11.30 am- 1 pm. Bread costs around $7-$8 a loaves but they sell half loaves as well. Coffee n lemonade are bit pricey($4.25). Pros: -------- Calm & Peaceful Fresh Produce Free Parking Fish Pond Kids would love it Friendly People Cash, Check & Cards are accepted Classes for kids ( Goat farming I guess) Just 15min drive from Ann Arbor Cons: ------- None

I went to check it out because of good reviews from Yelp. The farm only opens on Saturday during summer and fall, check their hours before you go. There is a nice open area for you to buy home made bread, pastries, coffee, organic veggies, cheese, and some picnic tables and chairs are available for your convenience. It is very relaxing and casual for family with children because they also have a nice farm with goats. The farm is very open space, plenty parking, and you can order pizza there around noon. I bought several different kinds of bread and pastries, they are very tasty. So, check it out yourself if you are around.

Unbelievable baked goods!!! Flaky, yummy, like nothing you'll find anywhere else. Try the lavender lemonade for an experience your mouth will not soon forget. Fresh flowers and vegetables. Locally made cheeses and other White Lotus dairy products. Fantastic gardens to stroll. Have a picnic. Pet the goats!! You have to visit.

The Brinary, Seedling (who I used to buy from when I lived in Chicago in their markets), and the Zingerman's creamery are all favorites. Not to mention all the beautiful fresh fruits and veggies. YES. Also--the parking lot rules. If it's too hot to bike or walk it's really nice to roll up and easily find a parking spot without having to pay a meter. It shouldn't matter but it totally does. The Saturday and Wednesday markets in Kerrytown are awesome but I for a few small items I love coming here. Popping in for a tasty eat at the Roadhouse doesn't hurt either! ;)

Instead, it's in the late afternoon / early evening, which is a nice change, and has an easy location good for parking and on the west side of town. The market hosts about 20 local Michigan vendors, and Zingerman's is usually always outside sampling some kind of yummy goodness. There's a nice selection of fruits, veggies and flowers. I usually hit up this market every Thursday on my way home from work and almost never leave empty-handed. Rain or shine, the market is there.

This is a review for the White Lotus cafe on Zeeb road (not the farms on Liberty)…read more This place is now my go-to for West Side hang-out. Anytime I have a family member visit me we go here. (I'm thinking of holding my office hours here in the fall, IN PERSON, over real coffee! this coffee is yummmmmmmy) From the moment I walk in the door I am greeted with friendly, knowledgeable staff. Who all know me by my first name! (and I have a difficult Spanish name). They greet me with a smile, never rush me, and take my order all the while answering any questions I might have. Since their menu is always evolving and changing, it's great that they take the time to walk through my options. So they have their standard amazing pizzas (which i first had at the farm) and their shockingly authentic pastries (even better croissants than I have had in Paris). But last week I tried their new breakfast food, and MAN! It was GOOD! the quiche, the omelet....and although I am convinced their chai is the best in Ann Arbor (it's not a premade mix of sugar and chemicals, it's the real deal) ...they now have this new line of matcha, so so good. Sarah and Kat make baristas run for cover, they are that good. And even with all that goodness, I was SHOCKED out of my mind when I had their eggplant sandwich. That thing is fire. FIRE. My family and I are big meat eaters, so when this one hit the scene, we couldn't believe how tasty it was. Even writing this review right now makes me want to go there and eat one. (I'll still keep trying their amazing ever-new menu, but this eggplant sandwich has become a standard) Also, there is this very cute small little market attached where I stop by at the end of the day to pick up freshly made bread for dinner. We love the sesame bread, but geez louise, the baguettes are addictive. Their head baker is INSANELY talented. Remember that scene in Ratatouille when the food critic gets transported to a core memory? That happens to me when I eat that bread. I have purchased goat milk soap there (its handmade by the baker's wife), hot chocolate mix, a kabocha squash, this no sugar added mango puree (which I made a no-sugar added mango torte with). They have these really cool unique products, and it really is a treat to stop by. The place is beautiful, and it is a gem to have such a high quality place to eat on this side of town. The passion that these people have comes through in their food, the products they sell, and the way they treat their community. I love Ann Arbor, and I love this cafe. (okay now i really am going to go and get that eggplant sandwich)
