The park is located right off the highway so it has easy access but yet they've situated the cabins & trailer spots so you don't hear a lot of noise. We spoke with the manager Shavani, who really went out of her way to welcome us since our travels were not going as smooth as we expected. To our surprise, she welcomed us with a bottle of Champagne in our room to celebrate being newlyweds. During our whole stay, she really kept the customer service level consistent and genuine. Now the rooms were not the Grand Hyatt but they were next level. Shell shaped towels, good quality sheets, functioning appliances and the boutique style made this place very romantic. the town is small, so if your looking for big city surroundings, this isn't the place for you but I will say we enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend

The room has a large TV, DishTV, microwave, iron and board, coffee machine in room. Mini fridge. The beds are surprisingly comfy and had good pillows. It has a desk and a table. The bathroom is small and the alarm clock is across the room. Our only real complaint when we were there was our phone was broken. The staff was nice but only meet one of the people. His family bought the place in 1984 and have run it since then. The breakfast was skimpy with a waffle maker, some cereal, honey buns, coffee and some juice. While non smoking now it does have a lingering smell of smoke from years. It is well lit and easy to spot at night and right near everything we came to see. I saw a few complaints but we didn't really have the issues and we stayed two nights for under $150.00. The shower head is not super powerful but as Austin, where we are from has the water issues it was nice just to shower and drink the water. I would stay here again if we come back.

Room 3-AC barely working. Room 4- said it was a new AC. Took more than an hour to cool down the place. Water pressure in shower was comparable to a gnat peeing on one's head. Also, tepid water ONLY in the shower (no hot, no cold). I was trying to get cold water to soak my head to cool off. Nope. We arrived around 9:00 pm and by 10:30, we were able to finally shower. I'm 70, with 2 kinds of cancer, and my husband is 66 and disabled. We SWORE we would NEVER go there again, but Yorktown Inn was full and we were there on a family emergency. Our other visit at Southern Inn? It was much better. We only had to change rooms twice that time!
