Do not order from the Joliet location. The food is good but the overall service is terrible, the worst that I've ever experienced. They don't value your business. No one is friendly and if you walk in to order, then she acts like you're bothering her. You cannot call in an order (they'll just put you on hold). Uber eats and postmates is worse (they do not check those orders). Even with proof, they would not honor my order. Save yourself a headache and stay far away from this place. As you all know from some of my previous post I like to give credit where credit's due more than anything I like to recognize and highlight black businesses if not us then who I had a taste for some Jamaican food last night so I did not mind driving out of my way in the snow last night to this location I was so excited driving there because they have some amazing food but I was stopped at the front door by one of the staff and surprisingly I must have lost track of time And I didn't realize I arrived during closing hours one of the staff members was nice enough to allow me to come in place my order and also recommend me some homemade ginger juice I really appreciate the lady being so nice and making me feel very appreciated and valued as a customer I definitely will be coming back thank you once again I ate the chicken noodle soup before I made it home and drink all 3 Ginger juices if you guys are ever in Markham be sure to take time out and check out the real taste of Jamaica I highly recommend it you will not be disappointed read more

This place was disgusting! Went in to order a jerk taco. When I ordered, the lady said no one has ever ordered a jerk taco. I got worried but I continue. When I got the food, I opened it and was hit with the foul odor from the meat! None of the toppings were on the taco and the meat looked old and been reheated several times. I go back in and inform the lady none of the toppings are on the taco and it stinks and disgusting! They told me no refunds. I opened the food and told the lady "if someone serves this to u at a restaurant, would u eat this?!." I said well can I at least get the toppings?! Lady comes back at told me they are out of the toppings! So they didn't even give me the option on if I still wanted the taco without the toppings! I decided to try this place out, I got the jerk chicken with cabbage, rice and macaroni. The food was good it had a decent amount of heat without it overpowering me, but here's why they get two stars instead of four or give; when she told me the price she said 16 no 17 so I gave her $20 and she gave back three, when she handed me my food I asked for a receipt and I saw that my change should've been $3.22 but she made the decision to round up on my price. Now needless to say .22 cents is not going to make me nor break me but let me make the decision of leaving the change don't you make that decision for me using my money. If this is done every time someone gives you cash it will add up substantially! So here's my suggestion put a tip jar there on the bar and let me put the tip in... as a business how can you balance your books or is your only concern that your not in the red? read more

Had a craving for ribs and my guy suggested we try this place. The cashiers were nice and the food was ready in a reasonable amount of time. The ribs were tender and seasoned just right. The side of jerk sauce was pure heat so I opted out of that. Sweet potatoes and red beans & rice were just okay. Would go back for the ribs. read more

If I could give them no stars I would but the fact that I did enjoy the stir fry shrimp the one star would suffice. My problem started on June 29, 2019 I called to order a stir fry shrimp which I ordered a week before, it came with the stir fry shrimp, red beans and rice and a side of sweet potatoes which I enjoyed very much. I called on the 29th hoping to place the same order. I called the first time to see if I could not get no sides but a little more of the stir fry shrimp but the cook Sergio said no it comes how it comes so I ended the call. I called back 10 mins later to see if they offered the stir fry as a side and I was told No once again. I called back another 10 minutes later to see if they offered it through catering order and once more I was told No I asked the young lady who was waiting to take my order (which was very pleasant) what time the chef was leaving for the day so that I could decide if I wanted to place my order and she told me he was staying the whole night. I called back 2 hours later to place my order and was told Sergio refused to make it and that he was going home. I was so very upset because I have never been treated like that from any restaurant it's always the customer is always right but in this case I was wrong. I called today because I've been having a craving for the stir fry since this past Saturday. I called placed the order and when I asked about my side I was told it didn't come with a side. Now I'm confused how did I get stir fry shrimp, red beans and rice and sweet potatoes and now a week later it doesn't come with anything. When I entered the restaurant I was hoping to speak to a manager to express my frustration but to my surprise no manager was on duty. The cashier called to ask the manager when he would be in but he wanted to know what the problem was after having the cashier speak everything I was saying to him over the phone which I found very unprofessional and I got the feeling they really don't care about the happiness of their customers. Terrible service. They act like they don't want to cook your food. They were discussing who will fix our food in our faces. Order a chicken Alfredo dinner didn't get a dinner just a small container with the Alfredo thrown in it with hardly any meat . My friend and I was trying to give them a second chance after ordering some jerk nachos from them and they did not put any cheese on my nachos a little meat.
